I Want Candy

Welcome to another PDE Linky Party Challenge.  This week begins a new challenge and a new format.  Beginning with this week's challenge we are now on a weekly rotation.  That means you have one week to play along with this week's challenge - Shaped Cards.

For my card I used:
  • Wild Cards cartridge for the card base
  • Life's a Party for the tombstone and then punched with a MS cracked edge punch
  • Zombie Squaredy Cat from SVG Cutting files
The stamped sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other designs our wonderful team has put together for you.  Then create your own shaped card, link up and play along with us.  Remember - you have until Monday, October 6th to link up and play along.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Be Yourself

I am so excited about today's post.  Why?  Because today begins the new 'season' of Cardz TV challenges.  And boy does Mary have some wonderful changes in store for you.  But you'll have to hop on over to Cardz TV to hear all about it.  All I'll tell you is that she has redesigned our team line-ups and I am on the cards team.  With that said.......

For our first challenge it's all about polka dots and stripes.  Create a card for any occasion using polka dots and stripes.  Of course I had to use another one of these wonderful Autumn Owls from Too Cute by Jessica on my card.  I thought she would work beautifully with the striped and polka dot papers I had in my scrap bin.  Needless to say I think I got it right because I love the way she turned out.

My stamped sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps

And now that you have seen my take on this week's challenge I'd love to see your take on it.  But first be sure to check out all of the other wonderful designs our team created for you this week.  I promise you won't be disappointed.  So after you're doing being inspired create your card - just remember to use polka dots and stripes.  Then link up and play along with us.  You have until October 9th to join the fun.

Oh Nuts!

This morning I'd like to share a fun shaped card that I put together using one of the squirrels from the Nutty For Fall file by Too Cute by Jessica.  I absolutely could not resist when I saw these adorable bucked teeth and chubby cheeks.

To create the shaped card I used the base layer from the acorn on the Create a Critter cartridge.  I welded two of them together using a rectangle from George to create my center fold.

The stamped sentiment is from the This 'n That stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps.

And there you have it - a quick, easy, fun shaped card for Fall.

Now I'm off to enter this in the Fall challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas.

Thirsty?

After being inspired by this project at Scrappin with my Bug I knew I had to scraplift and try some myself to use as 'gifts' this Halloween season.  My first I gave yesterday to a co-worker who hosts a blood drive at our office every 4 to 6 months.

I wanted it all to be a surprise so rather than handing the gift to her I placed it in her mail cubicle to find at some point during the day. (We also have a secret pal gift exchange going on at work so I kinda played on that too - even though she's not my secret pal)  She told me that when she first looked at it she wondered what in the world because it looked so real.  But once she realized what it was and read the card she loved it.

Now Michelle over at Scrapping with my Bug used a new set of dies that were recently released by Jaded Blossom.  Since I don't own those I used other things that I do have......like my MS drippy goo punch and my Happy Hauntings cartridge from Cricut for the potion bottle.  I ungrouped the cuts and used the bottom and top layers hiding the necessary contours for the look I wanted.  I then used my stamp from the Jaded Blossom Spooky Labels stamp set.

My card was made using the vampire squaredy cat from SVG Cutting Files.  They have a whole line of these guys and take about easy to put together.  For the stamped sentiment on my card I used the PKSC-32 August 2014 Halloween set.

And finally the gift box.  Believe it or not this was an SVG cut file as well.  This one I found over at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbon.  It's the gift box with window file.  I cut it out of chipboard and then came back and cut it out of cardstock so I could cover up the chipboard.  For the window I used one of the old mat covers from a used cricut cutting mat.

Put it all together and you have one unique gift.

Pumpkin Trio

Good morning fellow bloggers.  I thought I'd start the week off sharing a 3D project I worked on over the weekend.  I loved the way my Jack O Lantern turned out a couple weeks ago that I decided to make some more to try to sale at my first craft show of the season this weekend.

The cut file is part of the Haunted Forest set over at SVG Cuts.  The beauty of these is that she gives you the exact size measurement for each of the file pieces to ensure accuracy of putting it all together.  All you need then is some great patterned paper and you're all set.

I used the Eerie Tales mat stack from Graphic 45 for my pumpkins and their hats.  The flowers; however, are a combination of papers from the same stack and My Mind's Eye.  The brads in the center of my flowers are from Bo Bunny and are called Fright Delight Brads.

As you can see I put a flameless tea light candle in each pumpkin and that's how I'm going to market them.  Just think these will be jack-o-lanterns that won't rot and have to be thrown out at the end of Halloween......

Friends Add Color to Life

Tonight I'd like to share another card I made using the Autumn Owls file from Too Cute by Jessica.  For this one I also used Gypsy Wanderings from Cricut.  That cut became my mat for the owl.

This card was made on a smaller scale so my owl was cut at 4.44 inches tall.  The mat was cut at 3.17.  As you can see I used some skittles on this one and they are from the Spooky line over at DoubleClick Connections.  And that sentiment you see, it's from the Best Friends bundle over at Jaded Blossom.

But wait, on the inside of my card I used another sentiment.  This one is from the Count Your Blessings stamp set over at Cardz TV Stamps

And speaking of Cardz TV Stamps the Design Team challenges will begin again next week.  I promise you won't want to miss these as there are fun challenges in store for you along with new teams, returning designers and new designers.  So put it on your calendar for next Friday when the fun begins again.

Until then I'm off to enter this card into the following challenges:

Bitten by the Bug 2 - Use any Cricut Cut - Ends September 21st

Exploring Cricut - Fall using any die cut machine - Ends September 20th

Autumn Owl

I was browsing through the files over at Too Cute by Jessica the other day and fell in love with this Autumn Owls set.  So much so that this is the only file set I've been playing with for the past couple of days.  I thought the owls were perfect for creating a card 'series' so that's what I've been doing.....creating a series of friendship cards featuring these cute owls.

Over the next few days I'll be sharing my cards with you and today I wanted to start with the sunflower owl.  I cut this owl out at 5.92 inches high which gave me a finished size of 3 1/4".  The backdrop for my owl was cut from the Cricut cartridge Winter Woodland.

To add a bit of texture I embossed the wings on my owl with one of the font folders I have.  The stamped sentiment is from the Craftin Desert Divas set Say it Big.

On the inside of my card I decided to use a little pun....

And now I'm going to enter this card in to the following challenges:

Craftin Desert Divas - Fall - Ends September 28th

Bitten by the Bug 2 - Use any Cricut Cut - Ends September 21st

Exploring Cricut - Fall using any die cut machine - Ends September 20th

Keep Calm and Slime On

Hello everyone and welcome back for yet another fun challenge over at DoubleClick Connections.  For the next two weeks it's Anything Goes.  That's right, craft up your favorite colors, themes, use your favorite embellishments - it's no holds barred.  So get that craft table cleared off and start crafting up your entry for the challenge.  But first, if you haven't already, check out the great designs our team put together for you this week.

For my project I chose to use this cute little frog I found over at Treasure Box Designs.  It's part of a vertical border but I only wanted to frog and its pumpkin.  Instead of using buttons on vest I used skittles from the spooky collection.  Both the Spooky and Back to School collection of skittles has some great colors to use for Fall themed crafting.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the recently released Pick Your Poison stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

And now that you've seen my take on the challenge remember to check out the other designs.  Then create your own and linky up and play along for a chance to win this week's fun prize........I'll be scoping out your project soon.

Oh, and if you haven't yet done so be sure to check out the fabulous variety of skittle colors Carri has available here.

Zombie Virus

It's time for a brand new PDE Linky Party and this week kicks off what I am sure is going to be one of the best ones yet.  This time the challenge is all about stitching - real or faux.  We've all done it.  We've either 'drawn' on our stitches or actually stitched them by hand or machine.  Or maybe you're like me and you've done a bit of both.  This week though I chose neither.  That's right.  I didn't stitch by hand, machine or drawing.  Instead I let my cut file do it for me......

This absolutely adorable zombie is from a zombie file I purchased over at Too Cute by Jessica.  Now I gotta tell you that I have purchased quite a few zombie files but I think this little fella is my favorite by far.  Who could resist that cute little stitched up face?

The bat is from a different file though.  It's actually a cut that was too big for me to use on another project and it's from a file by SVG Cuts.  It's one of the 'fun extras' included with the cauldron project I shared a couple days ago.

The sentiment on my card is from the recently released Pick Your Poison stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out all the other wonderful designs our team has created for you.  Then after you've been amply inspired, created your own project, link up and play along with us.

I can't wait to see what you stitch up.

Boolicious Treat Purse

It was a lazy day here in our house today as I am recuperating from a cold quickly turned to infection.  My wonderful husband let me chill out and play in my craft room all day.  Yep, no chores - no nothing unless I wanted to.  Not even cooking......

I have to admit though that for a while I sat at my computer in a fog.  I kept trying to decide what I was in the mood to create and I'd start something then quickly trash it when I didn't like the way it looked.  After a couple hours of that I finally got in to a groove and was able to complete a couple of projects.....this being one of them.

For this treat holder I used the purse invitation from Girls Makeup Party.

On the inside that cute little ghost is from a cut file I got over at Too Cute By Jessica.  The pumpkin on the candy is from Designer's Calendar and the bat is from Happy Hauntings.

The stamped sentiments are from Peachy Keen Stamps (outside) and Jaded Blossom (inside).

And now with that I am going to enter this in to the purse challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  Nothing like a last minute entry huh?

Cauldron Treats

I haven't been able to get much paper crafting done the past few days as I've been busy with my loom knitting in preparation for my first craft show in a couple of weeks.  However, I did take some time today to put together this cauldron treat holder from SVG Cuts.

I was amazed at how big this cauldron was once it was completed and it's sturdier than I expected too.  I love the way it all came together.  It was easy to do and I enjoyed trying to decide what folders to use for the embossing on my panels.  In all I used four different ones.

For my candies I admit I didn't wrap and pretty up all of them - nor did I have enough to actually fill my cauldron.  (Remember, I said it was larger than I expected.)  But I did decorate up a couple handfuls of various candies.  For this I used scraps of paper from one of my Recollections Halloween mat stacks.  I love this particular pack of paper and I am going to be very sad when it's all gone.  I love the prints and colors - not too cutesy but not too creepy either.

On my wrappers you'll notice a couple of bats and pumpkins.  The bats are from the Cricut cartridge Happy Hauntings and the pumpkins are from Designer's Calendar.  The stamped sentiments are from three different sets by Jaded Blossom:  Halloween Candies 2 and Spooky Labels.

The label on the front of my cauldron is a mini tag from yet another mat stack - Recollections Journal Tags.  The sentiment on my tag is also from Jaded Blossom - this time using the Pick Your Poison set.  And those black 'dots' on each side of my tag.  Those are skittles from the Back to School set by DoubleClick Connections.

And now I'm off to enter this project in to the following challenges:

Jaded Blossom - Any Treat - Ends September 21

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Mix and Match 3 patterned paper (used for my candy wrappers/decorations) - Ends September 14

Hiding in My Craft Room - Think Fall, use Fall Colors - Ends September 13

Hey Punkin

I am very excited for today's post because today I am honored to be a guest designer for Die Cuttin Divas.  This week's challenge is a picture inspiration challenge and it looks like this:

Now if you ask me there's a whole lotta crafting inspiration going on in this set of pictures, but of course what kept popping out at me were the pumpkins.  All those big, rip, orange, delicious pumpkins.

Needless to say, that's what I chose for my project this week.  Both my card and jack o lantern files are from SVG Cuts.  The jack o lantern is from the recently released Haunted Forest set and the card is from the Midnight Jamboree set.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the designs created by the Design Team then create your own fall inspired card, link up and play along with us.

Thanks for the heads up Diana, I'll be adding this to your September Anything Goes Challenge over at DL Art momentarily.  For anyone else who wants to play along the challenge ends September 30th.

I'm also entering this in the Think Fall challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room - Use Fall Colors, Ends September 13th.

Beary Thankful

Can you believe it's time for another Skittles challenge over at DoubleClick Connections?  My how the time flies when you're having fun.  The theme for our new challenge is Animals.  Create a project using any animal you would like.  Link it up, play along, have some fun with us and have a chance to win some free skittles and other crafty goodies.

For my project I used this adorable Autumn bear I found a while back at Kadoodle Bug Designs.  She has the most adorable bear files and this one was definitely no exception.  I cut him out at 3.69 inches tall and that gave me the perfect size to create this card using a sketch that was the canvas for a recent challenge at Peachy Keen Stamps.  I love the versatility this sketch offers and I'm keeping it in my arsenal.

The stamped sentiment is from the Beary Sentimental stamp set by Maymay Made It.  I don't think this particular set is still in production but she does have some other cute sets available.

The skittles I used on my card are from the recent summer release.  There are three different colors:  Caramel, Grinch Green, and Purple.
Yummy Skittles
Not sure what skittles are, how to use them or if you would use them?  Check out this page
here.  You can even find more inspiration by visiting my Crafting with Skittles Board over on Pintrest.

But first be sure to check out the other projects that our design team has put together for you.  Then after you taken in all the inspiration be sure to craft along and link up your animal project.  I can't wait to see what you create.

When Pigs Fly

Welcome to another PDE Linky Party everyone!  This is going to be a great party and I simply cannot wait to see everyone's take on this challenge.  For the next two weeks we are playing with PUNS.  How fun is that?  Create a project.  Any project.  Use a pun.  Link it up and play along with us.

For my project I used cuts from the Cricut Cartridges Pooh & Friends and Children Around the World.  I kept racking my brain on how to create a flying pig and then I saw a picture of a pig holding balloons and thought well why not put the pig in a hot air balloon?

The stamped sentiment is from the newly released set titled Just Pigcause by Craftin Desert Divas.  Talk about some fun puns - she's got 'em over there.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's project be sure to check out all the others our design team has created for you.  Then after you've been amply inspired, create your own and play along with us.

Wonder Woman

I have a quick card to share with you today.  I thought that I had posted this a while back but it doesn't appear that I remember to do so and so I'm going to share it today.

This cute little Wonder Woman is one of the comic files over at Treasure Box Designs.  They are so quick and easy to assemble that it's not funny and for me that's huge.  My stamped sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps.

And now I have a card that's just about perfect for any occasion.  I can use this as a thank you card, Mother's Day, birthday, just because - you name it.  Isn't it wonderful when you can create a card that has those kind of possibilities?
