Need a Hug?

I love squirrels.  My yard is full of various feeders that I constantly fill so that I can watch the squirrels come eat and play in my yard.  I'll stand at the kitchen window or sit on the porch waiting and watching.  They're such funny critters and I enjoy the entertainment they provide.  My squirrels have their homes built up in the tops of old oak trees surrounding my house and they'll run from their homes down and through the trees whenever they see me coming with food.

And so it should be no surprise that today I have a fun squirrel card to share with you.  This shaped card is from Marjorie Ann Designs and is titled Nuts About You.  Now I admit I changed my card up a bit.  I left out the flower and the little black bird and then added in some "grass".  But that's the beauty of our crafting, the designer sees it one was and we have the ability to create it another.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Just Saying.

Zombie Virus Anyone?

I saw this wonderful Zombie Panda over at SVG Cutting Files couple weeks back and just had to have him.  I love the way that he was designed in that he can be used for a variety of card themes - Halloween, get well, Valentine's and so on.

This time I decided to use him for a quick and easy Halloween card.

My stamped sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Pick Your Poison.

Now I'm off to enter my card in the following challenge:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Any Holiday - Ends October 2nd

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 2nd

DL Art - September Linky Challenge - Ends September 30th

Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes - Ends October 5th

SVG Cutting Files - Anything Fall - Ends October 14th

Over the Hill - Reaper Style

Happy Friday everyone.  Today I have a fun over the hill card to share with you.  Needless to say, whoever receives this card will have to have a pretty good sense of humor.

I found this cute little grim reaper cut over at Cuddly Cute Designs.  I've never really used her files before this one and must say it was really easy to put together.

The three skeleton tabs/tags/tape I have on the card were created using the recently released Halloween Designer Tapes stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  And then I also decided to add a couple of skittles from the Back to School release at DoubleClick Connections.

Minion Scarf

I decided to try something a little different.  I've made a couple of minion hats but never tried to make a scarf so I sat down the other night and gave it a whirl.

Turned out pretty good I think.  I was tempted to try putting a smile on it but was afraid that I'm not yet skilled enough to do so without my yarn showing through on the reverse side.

It took a couple of days to get this done but the end result was well worth the time spent.  And now I'll see about making some more.  I'm sure the kids will love these and who knows - I just might have to try branching out and seeing what else I can do.  I'm finally feeling more confident in my ability to crochet after all these years............

Celebrate You Must

Last week I took a trip to Hobby Lobby.  Normally I have my husband with me as he and I do everything together, but this trip he was on a call and told me to go while I waited for him to finish.  So as I meandered around the store looking for new items to use in my crafting I came across a mat stack of Star Wars paper.  Now I have to admit I have never seen a single Star Wars movie from beginning to end.  In fact, I've only seen snippets of two - one of the originals and one of the newer versions.  Nonetheless, I think the characters are cool and fun to play with so that's just what I did.  I added the mat stack to my cart (along with a variety of other crafting goodies) and came home to play.

For my first Star Wars themed card I used this Yoda cut from the Galaxy Friends file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  He was very easy to piece together and I love the way he turned out.

My stamped sentiments are from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Candy Wars.

Here's what the inside of my card looks like.

It's the Simple Things

Happy Friday everyone and welcome back to another "season" of Cardz TV 3D challenges.  I am happy to say that this season I joined the 3D team and I'm looking forward to all the challenges we have in store for you.

Our first challenge of the season is to create a 3D card for Fall.  For my card I used this great autumn leaves tree cascade card by Snapdragon Snippets from the Silhouette store.  (Design ID #92156)   I absolutely fell in love with the style of this card and had to try it.  Of course I have to admit I was intimidated at first when I saw all the pieces to be cut, but then once I realized what was going on it was all very easy to assemble.

I used a mix of papers from the DCWV mat stack Harvest House and then used the Just Saying stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps

And there you have it.  My 3D Fall card.  Now it's your turn.  Create a 3D card for Fall, link it up and play along with us at Cardz TV for your chance to win a stamp set from Cardz TV.  You have two weeks to play and I cannot wait to see what you create!

Pokeball Beanie

So I thought I'd share another one of my crocheted hats with you today.  Trying to make this beanie was something new for me as I am still learning this craft and throwing in color changes was quite interesting. (I made this hat before I attempted the turtle one I shared yesterday)

Even though I've made several such style hats since I still have a lot to learn about how to change my colors correctly.  I've watched several you tube videos so maybe I'll get the hang of it eventually.

I'm really enjoying this craft after several years of on and off learning.  Until this past year I just couldn't get coordinated enough to make a proper chain stitch but now I've got it.  And who knows maybe I'll get comfortable enough to branch out and try new things.  But until then, it's a beanie and scarf making heaven when I'm not paper crafting......

Turtle Hats and Tags

Remember a few days ago when I said that I've been working a quite a few turtle projects lately?  Well today is the day that I reveal a peek of what I've been creating.

Next Saturday is the Oktoberfest and I am furiously crafting away in preparation.  One of the items that I had success with last year was turtle hats so I decided to make a few more this year.  And then Marjorie Ann Designs released these wonderfully cute Warrior Turtle files - one with the boys and one with the girls.  So I thought why not create some fun tags to go with the hats this year.

To create the tags I started with plain shipping tags like you get from Office Depot.  Then I used the shaving cream method that Splitcoaststampers shared with us a couple years ago.  In their tutorial they use re-inkers for the coloring and I simply used food coloring which as you can see works beautifully.

After the tags dried I added my turtles along with a small strip of comic paper.  The turtles were done using the clipart that comes with the files and the print n cut feature on my Cricut Explore.  (I still haven't figured out how to use it on my Silhouette Cameo)

Here's a pic of all 8 of the tags I created.

Mummy Treats

I have a fun treat box that I would like to share with you this morning.  This is another one of those gable treat boxes from Jaded Blossom.  They're a nice size box, coming in at about 3" x 3".

To decorate my box I used one of the mummies from the Silhouette design store.  This one is ID# 93595.  I also used one of the grass cuts from Silhouette.

My treat box is filled with eyeball gum and some Hershey kisses.  On the kisses I used the Jaded Blossom stamp set Halloween Candies 2.

To finish off the box I used some twine from my stash and a brad from the Bo Bunny Fright Delight brad set.

And with that I am now off to enter my treat box into the following challenges:

Jaded Blossom - Fall Colors - Ends October 3rd

DL Art - September Linky Challenge - Ends September 30th

Hiding in My Craft Room - Super Scraps Saturday - Ends September 19th

Ho Ho Ho

I just love crafting this time of year.  So many fun holidays and the change of seasons makes me feel excited.  I'm not completely sure why since I hate cold weather.  Maybe it's the craft shows, fairs, festivals, and all around fun that comes with the holidays.  That's got to be it.....

And as I sit here preparing for my first show of the season in a couple of weeks I have a Christmas card that I would like to share with you.

This was an easy one, and it was created using the Merry and Bright kit from SVG Cuts.  I decided to go with non-traditional colors but it seems that more and more this colors are becoming more common for Christmas too.  I love the mixtures of blues and pinks with hints of greens and silvers.

And there you have it.  A fun, quick and easy Christmas card.

My Little Superstar

I've been working on some Ninja Turtle Projects this week and today I wanted to share one of my cards with you.  I created this card using the Warrior Turtle Boys file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  The file has all four turtles and some other fun pieces and as always it also includes clipart (which I'll use for another project later).

Instead of cutting the 'chain' for the nunchucks I decided to use twine.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Craftin Desert Divas stamp set titled Little Super Star.  I also used the stamp set for the inside of my card.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Just For Kids - Craftin Desert Divas - Ends September 13th

September Linky Challenge - DL Art - Ends September 30th

Super Scraps Saturday - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends September 19th

Nativity Scene Card

Happy Friday everyone.  Today I have another Christmas card that I would like to share with you.

I love the look and feel of this card and just fell in love with it when I saw the Joyful Christmas Cards set at SVG Cuts.  This is only one of four fabulous designs available in this set and I'll definitely be making the others.

For the main background I used some pre-embossed paper from some company I'd never heard of before - Craft Smith.  But I found the paper at Michaels on one of their "hot buys".  I got this pad for $5 and then when I went back for me the price was $20.  But I did buy it on sale for like 20% off.  Still not as hot a buy.  lol

To add even a bit more texture and oomph to my card I decided to emboss the Mary and Joseph figures with one of my Cuttlebug script folders.

On the inside of my card I used the Christ is Born stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

Hello Wizard

Today I have a fun treat holder that I'd like to share with you.  I started with one of the clear gable boxes that can be purchased from Jaded Blossom.

I then cut out the Hello Kitty Wizard that came from the SVG Cutting Files Hello Kitty third annual blog hop.  That means this file is not for sale and no longer available.  You have to hop during the time period allotted in order to receive these yummy files.

My sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Hello Hello.

Both of these were adhered to my treat box using glue dots.

And now I'm off to enter this into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas - 3D Projects - Ends September 13th

DL Art - September Linky Challenge - Ends September 30th

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends September 11th

Cowardly Lion

I had a lot of fun creating the card that I'm sharing with you today.  Marjorie Ann Designs recently released a Wizard of Oz file and while looking it over I wondered how easy it would be to create a "shaped" card using some of the characters.  So in an effort to find out I decided to guinea pig the lion for my first attempt.

Fortunately, the main lion shape is included in the file so that's easy to weld to a card shape.  Not as easy was making sure that my overall card was the size I needed it to be while at the same time ensuring my other pieces fit.  Not that it was too difficult either.

One I got the main card set up I cut everything out and set off inking, embossing and chalking.  Once I was done with all the prep work I put my card together and added sentiments from the Jaded Blossom Yellow Brick Road stamp set.

And there you have it - a cute shaped card just ready to cheer up someone in need.

Be Naughty

So today I thought we'd have a little fun with one of the recently released stamp sets from Cardz TV Stamps.  I love creating Christmas cards and as you know I've been working on them in between my regular occasion cards.  Well the new Naughty or Nice stamp set has this Be Naughty sentiment that I thought would be perfect to use with the Drunken Santa from SVG Cutting Files.

On the outside of my card I wanted to only use the first part of the sentiment.  So I masked the last part.

To make my card even more fun I decided to put Santa on an action wobble so he'd be interactive.

On the inside of my card I masked the first part of the sentiment, and then came back to stamp some snowflakes in blue.

Oh and before I forget, I also used skittles from the Back to School set from DoubleClick Connections.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

September Linky Challenge - DL Art - Ends September 30th

Coffee Perks

Don't you just love it when the perfect card design falls in your lap for a sentiment that you're eager to use?  I mean, I don't always design my cards that way - picking my sentiment first. But when I do I'm always happy to find the perfect design to go with it.

Such was the case for today's card.  Craftin Desert Diva's recently released this wonderful stamp set titled Got Coffee and this was my first sentiment of choice.  So off I went, looking for the perfect design.

Not too surprisingly I found this design in the Silhouette store.  It's called Coffee Cups Trio and is design ID 91293 by Snapdragon Snippets.  I love the way that the card is laid out so that you can either add or not add a sentiment to the outside of the card.

And there you have it.  Another quick and easy card.

No Place Like Home

Today I have a quick an easy card to share with you.

Marjorie Ann Designs released another fun file this weekend titled Wizard of Oz.  As soon as I saw it I knew I had to play.  Especially since it was so perfect for one of the Jaded Blossom stamp sets I have.

But then I had to decide which cut I wanted to play with first.  As you can see I opted for the house, and you might be wondering why.  Thing is, it's not just a house.  If you look closely you'll see a pair of witches feet sticking out from underneath.

Then of course there's the sentiment from the Yellow Brick Road stamp set.  I thought that the two paired together was a great play on words and leant some fun humor to the card and so I went with it.

On the inside of the card I decided to use the Jaded Blossom stamp set Sweet Travels.  I love the curly arrow that comes with this set and thought it would be a fun way to point out the "you" in the sentiment.

Hope you all enjoy it.

Night of the Zombie

Today I have a Halloween card to share with you.  This one was made using a combination of SVG files and Cricut files.  I love the Walking Dead and was excited when the new spin off was set to air a couple weeks ago and was thus inspired to make the card I am sharing.

For my card I used:

For my boy zombie, I cut a slit at the tree root so that I could put him in there to look like he was stuck in the ground.

And then because of the way the forest laid out on my card I opted not to use a sentiment on the outside of the card.

My Favorite Sidekick

Today I have a fun card to share with you that I created using one of the designs from the Silhouette store.  This little cutie is design ID number 67703.  The great thing about this little bear in his monster costume is that he's so versatile and can be used for a variety of themes.

The stamped sentiment that I used on my card is from the Craftin Desert Divas stamp set titled Calling All Superheroes.

I also added a couple of skittles in Purple Twilight from DoubleClick Connections to help finish off the card.

And now I am off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Robot or Monster Challenge - DoubleClick Connections - Ends September 15th

Sketch Challenge - Die Cuttin' Divas - Ends September 6th

Just For Kids - Craftin Desert Divas - Ends September 13th

September Linky Challenge - DL Art - Ends September 30th

Freestyle - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends September 4th

Get Your Happy On

Today I'm taking a brief break from my Christmas cards and instead creating one for Fall.  Using gingerbread men for something other than Christmas was ingenious.  Making them this cute is even better yet.

And so for today's card I used the Flavors of Fall file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  Fortunately I still have some Fall themed paper in my stash and it was perfect for using as coordinates for my card.  Now that it's almost gone I'm on a mad hunt for more.

Instead of using the buttons in the file on the gingerbread man's overalls I opted to use sequins.  I thought this would add a bit of texture and something different to the card.  The ones I used are from the Shine Bright set by Crafting Desert Divas.

My stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Mixed Messages.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Freestyle - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends September 4th

Anything Goes - Jo's Scrap Shack - Ends September 4th

September Linky Party - DL Art - Ends September 30th

Christmas Joy

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  For today's card I used one of the cute mice from the Night Before Christmas set from Marjorie Ann Designs.

Growing up our family's tradition was that daddy would read the passage in the Bible about the birth of Christ before any other activities would begin on Christmas day.  So when I saw this cute mouse sitting in his arm chair with a book in his hand it reminded me of those days.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the stamp set Merry & Bright by My Craft Spot.  Unfortunately they are no longer doing business.

But now I'm off to enter this into the following challenge:

DL Art - September Linky Party - Ends September 30th
