Brighter Day

I have an encouragement card I'd like to share with you today.  It's been really rainy here in the Panhandle of FL - just like it's been in a great many places throughout the U.S.  Personally, I don't care much for the rain.  It always gets me down in the dumps a bit.  Kinda like winter and all this cold air.  My guess is because that means I'm cooped up inside rather than being able to be outdoors, running around barefoot, being active and basking in all that glorious sunshine.  And so.....

....I thought I'd take that rainy weather and turn it around.

I found this cute teddy bear in his rain coat, playing with his sailboat in a puddle and thought that's perfect.  This little cutie is called Bobby and His Boat, and he's a Marjorie Ann Designs creation.

My sentiment is from the Rain or Shine stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.  I have another one from this set that I used inside that says " when life gives you a rainy day, play in the puddles"  Isn't that perfect?

On the outside of my card I decided to be a little adventurous and I tried this new product I purchased called Goosebumps by Tsukineko.  It's a clear texture spray and mimics that wet look.  Of course I need a bit more practice as I was nervous the first time using it but I still think it turned out pretty good.

I also added a couple of Stream colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections to shake things up even more.

Puppy Love

This has been an exhausting week as I have been sick for the past five days.  Today I feel more human even though I'm still fighting through the ick.

So today's card is all about the quick and easy.  Last week SVG Cutting Files had their Valentine blog hop and this cute little puppy card or "Dog Letter Standing Card Shape" was one of the files.  Good news is that unlike past hops where files were only available during the hop, you can now purchase files afterward.  And if you're a cat lover she has one of those available too.

The stamped sentiment on the envelope is from the recently released Love Ya stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

DL Art - Valentines - Ends February 10th

I Freakin' Love You

I have another fun Valentine card to share today using one of the robots from the I'm Nuts and Bolts About You file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  These guys are just too cute and very easy to piece together.

Once again I wanted my robot to look metallic so I used some more of that shiny metallic paper from my Christmas stash.  I also used a different metallic type paper that I had some scraps of for the darker gray bolts and ears.

My stamped sentiment is from the recently released Love Ya! stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.  I also used it and the Heart Splatters stamp set from Jaded Blossom on the inside of my card.

Don't Breathe

I figured with all the Valentine's Day cards I've been making it was time to sneak in at least one Anti Valentine.  So today's the day.

I created this one using the Cartoon Cupid Silhouette from the Silhouette Design Store.  I even purchased a commercial license for this one.  (As a side note, did you know that when you buy a commercial license for their files it does not 'tag' the file in any way?  You just have to "remember" which files you bought the license for?)

Using the recently released Heart Splatters stamp set from Jaded Blossom I stamped all over on my background paper.

After adding my layers I felt that I needed a little something else, and decided to add some Red skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

I also used the new Valentine Designer Tapes to stamp a couple of the arrow printed tapes.  I used one of the tapes on the outside of my card and the other two on the inside.

Finally, I used the Cupid is Stupid stamp set that was released last year for my sentiments, inside and out.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jaded Blossom - Crafter's Choice - Ends February 6th

DoubleClick Connections - Anything Goes - Ends February 2nd

DL Art - January Linky Party Anything Goes - Ends January 31st

Best Robot

It's the start of a new week, and I thought we'd kick it off with something a little different.  Yes, it's a greeting card, but it's not a Valentine themed card.  Those will come later.  ;)

For today's card I used one of the robots from the I'm Nuts & Bolts About You file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  Since this is a robot and robots are metallic in nature I wanted to create mine so that they looked metallic.  Fortunately I had a couple sheets of a silver metallic paper sitting in my Christmas paper stash.

To add even more texture to the card I chose to run my robot's dress through my Cuttlebug using the Clockworks embossing folder.

The stamped sentiment is from the It's All About You stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps.

And that fun, cheerful print paper I used....Well that's from the mat stack Cosmic Whammy from the Paper Studio.

Birthday Hop

Today's the day everyone.  Today's the day that Marjorie Ann Designs turns one.  And to celebrate we are having a Birthday Blog hop over on Facebook.  You'll have several chances to wine a $10.00 gift certificate from Marjorie Ann Designs.  And there'll be games to play and prizes to win.

For my project today I created this adorable gingerbread shaped card and on the inside I used one of the freebie stamp sets from Jaded Blossom titled Birthday Luggage Tag.

So c'mon and join us in the fun.  It all begins on Marjorie Ann Designs' Facebook page.

Valentine Charger

It's Wednesday and that means we are on the downhill slide for the weekend.  Now if only the weather would warm back up so I can enjoy those weekends more fully.  Until then I guess I'll just have to sit in my room and craft.

Today though I have an altered charger plate that I'd like to share with you.  Chargers are one of my favorite items to play with.  And since I haven't done one for Valentine's yet I thought I'd rectify that.

For this charger I created an 8" circle for the center of plate.  I then used one of the porcupines from the Stuck on You file from Marjorie Ann Designs.

The stamped sentiments on the heart are both from the Sending Love stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.

Before I got today, I wanted to let you know that Marjorie Ann Designs  will be celebrating their first birthday this weekend with a First Birthday Facebook hop!

The hop will run from January 23rd to January 24th. With wonderful inspirations and a SVG freebies each day.

We will also be playing games in the group
Free SVG'S ~ Games and More ~ Marjorie Ann Desgins , so if you are not already a member be sure to “join” before the games begin.

I hope you'll come join in the fun.

Enveloped With Love

Surprise!  I have another Valentine card to share today.  :)

This one was created using another fun, new file from Marjorie Ann Designs titled My Sweet Valentine.  As usual, if there's a ginger involved you know I'll be making something.  Every ginger featured file has been adorable and this one is no exception.  And right now they're all on sale for 30% off.

For this card I loosely followed this sketch.

I added in some Rudolph Red skittles from DoubleClick Connections.  And the stamped sentiment is from the Sending Love stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.

XOXO Porcupine

Marjorie Ann Designs released new files last week, and as soon as I saw this adorable one full of porcupines I had to play!

After looking at pictures of porcupines to see if they were in colors other than brown-ish I searched through my stash to see if I had anything that would look like their spotted quills.  Not finding anything I decided to go a different route and use a metallic paper for the quills instead.

And that's it.  I opted to let the XOXOs do the work for this card.  No sentiments, or other embellishments were used.

Oh, I guess I should tell you the name of the file that I used.  It's called Stuck on You.  How great is that?

Owl Love You

I just love the owls in the Whoo Loves You file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  So today I'm 'featuring' another one of these cuties on my card.

This is another quick and easy card.  Not because I used the clipart to print and cut, but because everyone of the owls in this file are that easy to piece together.

Since my background paper had all these banner flags I decided to add a couple of hand cut ones to the card as well.  So using coordinating paper from the same mat stack I cut my banners of graduating sizes, grouped them together and adhered them to my card.

I opted not to use a stamped sentiment on the outside of the card this go round because I felt it would be out of place with the design.

Old Farts Love

Happy Thursday everyone.  I am really excited to share the card I have created for today.  It's a simple card but I just love the overall look and feel of the card.

To create my card I started with the Old Farts Poopeez file from SVG Cutting Files.  If you've been following me for any period of time you know that I love to play with and have fun with the Poopeez files.  Having four boys under my roof gave me a whole new appreciation for this off color (if you will) sense of humor.

I decided to take this old farts couple and use a bingo card style background file behind them.  Doing this enabled me to showcase the 'candy' stamps included in the Sending Love stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.  I played with these two sentiments, using them as if they were a bingo dauber on my card.  On the inside of the card I used another sentiment from this set that says," I'll love you until the day after forever."

I then finished off the card with a couple of skittles in the color Stream.

I hope that you enjoy today's creation.

Hello Sweet Baby

Today I'm sharing one of my quick 'n easy cards with you.  I've said it before but certainly can't say it enough - I love the print and cut feature on my Cricut.  (That seems to be the only thing I use my Cricut for these days now that I have my Silhouette)

I told you last week that it was time to get cranking on some baby cards and this is only the second one but I'm getting them done.  Thank goodness with baby's there's a window of time to get things done.  LOL

For this card I used the Baby Shower file from Marjorie Ann Designs.

The stamped sentiment is from the stamp set titled Sweet Baby by Jaded Blossom.

I also used some yellow skittles to add a bit of "bling" to my card.

Sending Love

In between all the cleaning, organizing and furniture re-arranging I found some time for card making this weekend.  Here lately I never know when I'll get my papercrafting done.  Ever since Thanksgiving I've been spending my free time cross stitching a baby blanket that I'm working on.  And let me tell ya, that's a time consuming project.  I forgot how long it takes to get cross stitching done.  Two months in and I'm not even half way there.....

But I digress.  Today I have another fun owl card to share with you.  It's another one of the five different owls featured in the Whoo Loves You file by Marjorie Ann Designs.
I pulled a sketch out of my files to follow for this one. However, instead of inking my sentiment on a strip to go along the bottom of the oval I decided to stamp it right on the oval.

The sentiment is from the Craftin' Desert Divas stamp set titled Sending Love.  Talk about the perfect stamp set for this time of year.

To finish off the card I placed my owl on an action wobble,

and added some skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

Valentine Owl

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Now that Christmas is over it's time to get started on all those wonderful Valentine's Day projects.  And today I have my first of what will be several cards to share with you.

As you know I love creating owls (almost as much as my gingerbreads), and so I have decided to begin the fun with this wonderful Whoo Loves You file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  There are five different owls in this set and each one is cute as can be.

It doesn't show up all that well in the photograph but I used a couple of pink heart shaped sequins on his eyes.  I then came back with glossy accents and "colored" in the blacks of his eyes to help them stand out somewhat.

My background paper is from the Recollections mat stack titled Valentine.   I then added a sentiment from the Cardz TV Stamps set For The Birds.

And there you have my first Valentine for 2016.

Diaper Cake

Now that it's finally turned cold here in Florida I've stayed indoors and managed to get a good bit done in my craft room over the holiday weekend.  It all started with rearranging, organizing and a little decluttering.  I even moved some stuff outside my overgrown craft room out into the living/dining room area - with permission from my hubby of course.  :)

While organizing my room I was quickly reminded of the various scrapbooks I've started and have yet to finish.  There's four in all, and now I have another goal for this year - get those books done!

In the meantime though, between the cleaning and organizing I did sit down to do card making.  I have several friends that are expecting in the coming months so it's time to get some baby cards done in preparation.

My card today was made using the Baby Shower file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  As soon as I saw this file I fell in love with the diaper cake so of course that's the first file I used.

The stamped sentiment is from Jaded Blossom's Sweet Baby stamp set.  I saw this sentiment and it cracked me up.

And there you have the first of several baby cards yet to come.
