Till Death Do Us Part

Today I have a nightlight jar to share with you.  This one can be used for Halloween or it could even be for everyday use.  After all I know a couple of people who love skull themed items.

To create my jar I used this wonderful Gothic framed skull silhouette called Till Death Do Us Part.  It's from the Silhouette store and was designed by Jamie Koay.  Best part is if you purchase it before midnight tonight it's half price.  (For personal use)  She has some other great designs that I've purchased and you'll see those in later projects.

The verbiage on my jar was created in Silhouette design edition.  I love that I learned how to create curved text.  Doing so made this addition to the jar easy.

Now I'm off to enter my Halloween light into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes - Ends Sunday, September 4th

Hiding in My Craft Room - Any Holiday - Ends Saturday, September 3rd

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends Wednesday, August 31st

Happy Haunting

I'm a bit late with my post for today.  We decided late last night that we were going to hit the gym early today.  I mean like before 6AM early.  Now that our granddaughter is here we've been doing a lot of babysitting while mommy and daddy work and that's meant a decline in gym time.  So like everything else we came up with an alternate plan.  Go in the morning.  It won't be every day that we do it - just those when we need to.

And that leads me to posting today's project this evening.  Granddaddy is playing with Ocean (that's our granddaughter's name) so that I can come play with you for a few.  :)

So for today's project I have a Halloween card that I'd like to share.  This one was made with the newly released Marshmallow Bear Happy Haunting file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  She has some great Halloween files and this one is no exception.

For my stamped sentiment I used the Ghostly Greetings stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.  The spider is from the August 2014 Peachy Keen Stamps release, set PKSC-32.  On the inside of my card I also used Peachy Keen Stamps and these are all from the Trio of Girl Ghosts.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes - Ends Sunday, September 4th

Hiding in My Craft Room - Any Holiday - Ends Saturday, September 3rd

Jo's Scrap Shack - Cut it Up - Ends Friday, September 2nd

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends Wednesday, August 31st

Mummy Yummy

Happy Monday everyone.  It's Barbara from My Little Spot of Sanity (everyone has to have somewhere to go so they can stay sane, and for me it's my craft room). It's my last day to guest design over at Jaded Blossom Stamps and it has definitely been an honor and a privilege to do so.  So to everyone at Jaded Blossom - thank you for the fun-filled and exciting opportunity you've given me this August.

Now for my project today I thought I'd share a little Halloween treat box.  I purchased this  Mummy Candy Bar Box from the Silhouette store last year so that I could use it in conjunction with the Pick Your Poison stamp set but never got around to do so.  And now I have finally done it!

To make my project I had to rework the box a bit since I bought a king size Hershey bar.  After I got everything the size I needed, I used the script embossing folder from Cricut's Cuttlebug line to emboss my little mummy, added my sentiment from Pick Your Poison and viola.  My Hershey bar holder is complete.

Thanks for checking in and thanks again for having me as a guest designer this month!

Nightlights

About a week ago I shared some tooth fairy nightlights I made.  Today I've made some more but this time I created a couple of different styles.  Most all of the lights I've made have been girly but today I actually have a couple that are more manly.

In case you missed my tooth fairy light post here's the scoop on how these are done.

The lights are pre-printed lights I found at Dollar Tree.  To make the lights I gently soaked the plastic cover in acetone for a few seconds and then used a cotton ball to rub away the pre-printed design.  After allowing the cover to dry I applied my vinyl designs.

See, it's THAT easy.

All three of my designs were purchased from the Silhouette store.

And now I'm off to enter these into the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends August 26th

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends August 31st

Anything Can Happen

How about another fun nightlight jar today?

This one was made using the fairytale nanny from the Silhouette Design Store.  And there was an option for a commercial license (just like with the fairies I'm using).

The quote on the jar is one that I found doing a google search.  After all you gotta have a good inspirational quote for an image like this.

And now I have a nightlight that is perfect for a little girl's room or any room in the house where some inspiration is wanted.

With that, I am off to enter my nightlight into the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends August 26th

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends August 31st

Witching Spells

I have a fun Halloween card that I'd like to share with you today.  This one was made using the Halloween Hoots file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  I've now used four of the seven characters in this file and each one has been easy and fun to piece together.

For the stamped sentiment I used the Frankly Frightful stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

I also used some Purple Twilight skittles from DoubleClick Connections.  I think I have just about every color available because I love using these gems as accents on my card every chance I get.

And now I'm off to enter my card in the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends August 26th

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends August 31st

I Believe in Fairies Light

Today I have a nightlight jar that I'd like to share with you.  I've found that these are so quick and easy to do and I'm hoping that they'll do well at my upcoming craft show because that's what some of these are for.

The Silhouette Design store has quite a few fairies that can be purchased for commercial use and the reclining fairy that I used on this light is one of them.

For the verbiage on my jar I just used one of the fonts I had available but the F in fairies I found doing a google search.  I love how it looks like a set of wings.

This week Hobby Lobby has there glass ware on sale again so needless to say I'll be hitting them up this week to purchase more.  C'mon how can I resist such an awesomely priced deal that I can turn into something this beautiful?  And even better yet, they have a variety of styles and I'm thinking about picking up some of the others so that I can "branch out" and try a couple of different Halloween styles.  My hubby loves Halloween - it's his favorite holiday so I thought I'd surprise him with a couple that he can tie into his growing decor.  Shhhhhh, don't tell him though.  :)

Until next time, Happy crafting everyone.....

Baby's First Christmas

I realized the other day that with all the different Christmas ornaments I've made lately I had forgotten - somehow - about Baby's First ornaments.  Don't ask me how I forgot such and important milestone, especially since this will be my granddaughter's first Christmas, but I did.......until now.

For these I used a combination of Silhouette files and text from one of my groups.  From the Silhouette store I used:  Baby's First Christmas and Baby Footprints.  The remaining verbiage is my own and/or from another file that was shared in one of my groups.

These were very easy to put together and I love how they turned out.

Tooth Fairy Lights

Now this is a trend that I didn't wait to try.  LOL  So recently I've seen some posts on FB where nightlights from Dollar Tree were being turned into nightlights that the crafter wanted.  In other words they were removing the pre-printed picture from the light and then adding vinyl to make the light their own.  I thought this was pretty cool, and being on a vinyl kick lately I decided to jump on this bandwagon and give it a try.

This tooth fairy light was inspired by one I saw in one of my groups.

To make this light I gently soaked the plastic cover in acetone for a few seconds and then used a cotton ball to rub away the pre-printed design.  After allowing the cover to dry I applied my vinyl design.

For this tooth fairy design I found the tooth in a google search and traced from there.

Easy Peasy.

And now I have a fun nightlight to help guide the tooth fairy when needed.

I Love Trash

Today I thought we'd have some fun and I would share these cute garbage cans I added some vinyl too.  I found these at the Dollar Tree - which I apparently don't visit often enough.  They have all sorts of cool things that you can craft up and turn in to other things.   Today though, it's garbage cans.

I saw some of these being posted in my groups last year, but like most trends I'm late joining in.  Truth is I had other stuff going on and was so new to my Silhouette that I wasn't yet trying a lot of the trends from last year.  But now I'm comfortable enough to get out there and go for it.

So adding vinyl to these cans was every bit as easy as it looks.  I found a file in one of my groups that had everything I needed.  However, I wanted the verbiage cut in a different font and I remembered one that I had downloaded a while back from Dafont dot com called Rock's Death.  It took forever to cut the verbiage but as you can see it was well worth the wait.

Next time I see the blue and red cans I just might buy some of them and turn them into something fun too.

Happy School Worm

Today I have a fun back to school (ish) card to share with you.

I created this one using the new I Love School Worms file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  There are six different little worms in this collections and they are all just as cute as can be.

Since this little worm comes with his own chalkboard I figured I'd see what school themed papers I had in my scrap stash.  I had two to choose from and this one won.  I really like how it turned out with the handwritten letters like we all learned to write back in kindergarten and first grade.

The stamped sentiment on the chalkboard is from the recently released Happy Hello stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Hiding in my Craft Room - Back to School - Ends August 20th

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends August 31st

You're My Superhero

Hey everyone.  It's Barbara from My Little Spot of Sanity.  You might remember seeing me last week during the awesome stamp release week at Jaded Blossom.  Even after all that I'm honored to be posting another fun project at Jaded Blossom today!

I belong to a wonderful group called I Run 4 where those of us who can run and participate in physical activities run and participate for those children who cannot.  Last year I was paired up with my sweet buddy Conner.  After a year of running for this precious boy I am finally getting the chance to meet him and his wonderful family.  And what's a meeting without a gift?

Conner loves Superman and so I decided to create a special ornament for him along with a little treat of chocolate.

I used the following Jaded Blossom goodies for this project:

Rectangle tubes for the chocolate

Super Hero (revamp) stamp set for the flag sentiment

Super Hero 2 for the sentiments on the candy

I also used the base holder from the Alien Tube Holder from SVG Cutting Files and the Superhero Kid from the Silhouette Design Store.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you enjoyed the project that I've shared today.  Now I can't wait to give it to Conner and see how he likes it.

I've had quite the addiction to vinyl and glass lately so why not combine that with a great release?  I really love the size of the happy sentiment from the Happy Hello stamp set so I wanted to use that on a card.  And since I needed a treat holder to go with my card I made a candy jar using a quote from Harry Potter.

Jaded Blossom Release - Day 5

WooHoo it's Friday!  It's also the last day of this fabulous week long Jaded Blossom release.  And you know what that means......

That means later on today there'll be a blog hop and everyone can begin purchasing their stamps!!  Well that is if you didn't take advantage of the Gotta Have it now earlier this week.

Our last stamp set for this release is Meal Plan and this is the project that I created using this fun stamp set.

Since this stamp set is about meal planning and I'm not much of a 'planner' person I thought it would be fun to create a gift card/favor project.  For this one I used the Christmas Kisses Gift Card Holder from the Silhouette store.  Since I used a LuLu's card for the project I decided to go with a tropical design on the holder.  For this I used part of the Paradise Found title from SVG Cutting Files.  (The beach sand is actually sand paper.)

And there is also a 3x4 Freebie with this release - Good Fortune.

Here's a peek at today's stamp sets.

Jaded Blossom Release - Day 4

Today we are spotlighting the Happy Hello Add On.  For my project I used the following Jaded Blossom products:

I also used my Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch and the cute Frankenweenie file that is from a past SVG Cutting Files blog hop.

Here's a peek at the Happy Hello Add On set

I can see a lot of fun use coming from this stamp set.

Jaded Blossom Release - Day 3

Who's ready for a peek at day three of the Jaded Blossom stamp release?  Today we have two fun stamp sets being spotlighted - Happy Hello and Paisley.

For my project today I used the Happy Hello stamp set.

When I saw this cool emoji treat bag I thought it would be fun to stamp sentiments on the sunglasses so that's exactly what I did.  This is from My Scrap Chick and is called Cool Emoji Party Box.

Here's a look at the Happy Hello and Paisley stamp sets.

Happy Tuesday everyone, and welcome back to Day 2 and more fun with this month's Jaded Blossom release.  Today it's all about Food - Foodie that is.

For my project today I decided to use a couple of the sentiments from the Foodie stamp set.  After all you can't have bread without butter and/or jam.

The bread carrier is the Tray & Tote for Mini Loaf from the Silhouette store.
Both of my tags are pieces from other files and since I didn't write them down I can't remember which ones they were.
