Bad A$$ Turkey

Today I have a card to share with you that uses a wonderful file I came across over at Treasure Box Designs.  The name of the file is Pardon Me, and I love how this turkey is disguising himself his hunter's cap and a set of antlers.  And the fact that he's holding a rifle just cracks me up.  I love it.

 

When I was preparing the pieces to put him together I decided to emboss the feathers using one of my script folders.

 

The sentiment I used is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Sassy Pants.

Tissue Time

 

Well it's that time of year.  Time where the weather gets crazy and people all around begin to become ill with some kind of cold, flu or other illness.  Fortunately our family has not fallen prey to any of these yet, but I thought it would still be a good idea to create a get well card.  You just never know when you might need one.

 

I created this card using the recently released Harvey Under the Weather svg file from Marjorie Ann Designs.    And I used the Tissue Time stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.

Happy H-Owl-idays

Happy Friday everyone.  Normally this would mean my weekend begins tomorrow but my hubby and I are both working a half day.  So we'll have a late start but I definitely plan enjoying it. 

 

But today, I have another card to share with you.  This cute little owl reindeer is another one of the owls from the Happy Owlidays file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  Just like with my gingerbread owl card I decided to go with the pre-embossed card blank by DCWV.

 

My stamped sentiment is from the Craftin Desert Divas stamp set titled Holly Day Punnies.  And then I also used some skittles on my card.

Reindeer Gift Jars

 

Is it the weekend yet?  My goodness I don't know about you but I've had more than a week already here in my neck of the woods.  Then with the time change and being up around 4AM or earlier every day makes for even longer days.  On the bright side I am getting a little bit more accomplished.

 

With all the hectic pace of life right now I'm grateful that I still have time throughout my week to sit and craft a little.  Especially since I have so many crafts I love to do. 

 

So today I share with you another in my plastic canvas "series".  This craft takes a while to get a project done, but seeing the final product makes it all worth while in my opinion.  These little gift jars are fun to do and great for using for gifts whether for co-workers, friends, or family.

 

These are made using a pattern from the Leisure Arts Book #1541 (book three) titled Deck The Halls in Plastic Canvas published in 1994.

Sweet Treats Owl

Today I have a Christmas greeting to share with you using another one of the cute owls from the Happy Owlidays set by Marjorie Ann Designs.

 

I love how she combined the owl with a gingerbread look to create this little owl character.

 

This time I used a different set of card blanks from DCWV.  This one is from the A2 embossed card set in white.  They also have them in ivory and I love the clean, simple look of my cards when I use these.

 

I also added some skittles to help break up a bit of the white space while adding just the right amount of "bling".

Nativity with Stable

 

Yesterday I was able to finish putting together  a nativity that I have been working on.  This is another one of my plastic canvas creations, and while the direction for the pattern were a bit confusing I think the end result is pretty neat. 

 

I did not have any doll hair in my stash so had to use what I did have, and that meant yarn.  For Joseph I decide to try something a bit different.  I used some eyelash yarn I had, wrapped it around a pencil and glued it together in the ring shape and then glued that on for his hair.  It gives him kind of a wild man look but that's what makes him unique.

 

Overall I love the way that this nativity turned out, and really love the uniqueness of the set.

 

This particular pattern is from the 1984 leaflet Projects Galore published by Butterfly Publications.  I had never seen this pattern before and came across this gem while perusing ebay.  Needless to say, I peruse several times a week - always on the hunt for those unique patterns.  And I have found some - just keep tuning in to see what I create next.  :o)

    

Snow Owl

It's another wet and dreary day here in the Panhandle of FL, complete with flash flood and tornado watches/warnings.  With all the water everything has become a slick mess and just yesterday I took a small fall down the steps of our front porch and bruised up my lower back area pretty good.  Fortunately it's nothing time and an alignment won't cure.  So while I sit in the house listening to the rain and sipping my coffee I do what I do best in these situations - I craft. 

 

I've got a couple of plastic canvas projects almost complete and ready to share.  I also did a bit of crocheting (working on minion hats for my son's friend), and of course I did some papercrafting.

 

Today I share with you one of the greeting cards I made.  This little cutie is from the Happy Owlidays set by Marjorie Ann Designs.  There are five different owls in this set and so far I've pieced together three of them.  They're quick and easy to piece together and everyone turn out of so stinkin' cute.

 

My card is one of those pre-printed card bases from DCWV, and the sentiment is from the Winter Wonderland stamp set by My Craft Spot.
