Friends Add Color to Life

Tonight I'd like to share another card I made using the Autumn Owls file from Too Cute by Jessica.  For this one I also used Gypsy Wanderings from Cricut.  That cut became my mat for the owl.

This card was made on a smaller scale so my owl was cut at 4.44 inches tall.  The mat was cut at 3.17.  As you can see I used some skittles on this one and they are from the Spooky line over at DoubleClick Connections.  And that sentiment you see, it's from the Best Friends bundle over at Jaded Blossom.

But wait, on the inside of my card I used another sentiment.  This one is from the Count Your Blessings stamp set over at Cardz TV Stamps

And speaking of Cardz TV Stamps the Design Team challenges will begin again next week.  I promise you won't want to miss these as there are fun challenges in store for you along with new teams, returning designers and new designers.  So put it on your calendar for next Friday when the fun begins again.

Until then I'm off to enter this card into the following challenges:

Bitten by the Bug 2 - Use any Cricut Cut - Ends September 21st

Exploring Cricut - Fall using any die cut machine - Ends September 20th

Science Nerd

Today I have a fun project to share.  It's my final back to school project and I incorporated several challenge elements into this one project.  They are:

  • Back to School
  • Specific sketch
  • Use a favorite color combination
  • Create a 3D Back to School project
For my project I used files from SVG Cutting Files - the Kawaii Beaker treat box and Gigi Facebook sticker.  The Gigi file is not for purchase as it was a file that was provided during one of the blog hops awhile back and you only get the file if you participate during the specified time period.

The square background is from George and Basic Shapes and the small scalloped circles on the candies are from Gypsy Wanderings.

The stamped sentiments are from Jaded Blossom.  One is from the Hello Hello stamp set and the other is from the Wizard Candies stamp set.

And with that I am off to enter this into the following challenges:

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Sketch - Ends August 17th

Cardz TV - 3D Back to School - Ends August 21st

SVG Cutting Files - Back to School - Ends August 14th

UPDATE:  This project was chosen as a Design Team Top 5 winner over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.

Mischief & Mayhem

Happy Friday my fellow bloggers, and welcome to another Cardz TV Stamps challenge with the Go To Galz.  This week we're all about Ghosts and Goblins as we eek a bit closer to Halloween.  And I have to tell ya that our ladies created some really awesome projects this week that you will not want to miss!
As you can see I created a card for my project.  And while it was an easy put together I think it packs a nice little punch for Halloween.
I used Gypsy Wanderings for my skeleton head.
For the rosette I cut two strips of 2 1/2" x 12" paper and scored at every 1/4 inch.  I then worked my myriad of folds, joined the ends , fluffed it up and realized I made too large a rosette.  So I gently cut across a couple of my folds and removed a section of paper, rejoined my ends and tried again.  This time it was the perfect size so I cut a couple of squares to hold my centers in place, glued them down and placed a book on top to hold it all in place.

Once that was done I added my background paper - My Mind's Eye Halloween Scary Sparkles mat stack.  Oh and lest I forget my rosette was made using a printed paper from 2007 called Orange Skeletons from Masterpiece Studios.
The stamped sentiment is from the newly released stamp set "Trick or Treat".
And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the others by clicking on the link above.  Then be sure to create your own project, link up, and play along with us.

I Love You Like....

.....KaPow!

And so my super-bear Valentine was born out of a sentiment.  I downloaded this great little graphic from Paper Crafts Connection blog section of sentiments.  Then over the last couple of days I've been playing around as I have time trying to decide just how I wanted to design my card around the sentiment.  This is what I came up with..........

From Teddy Bear Parade I cut the superhero bear at 2 1/2"

From Gypsy Wanderings I cut the hearts at 1/2" and 3/4"

My paper background is from one of the Marvel comic scene pages.  How perfect is that?  And on the inside is my sentiment.

Talk about a fun and easy card to put together.  I just love it when a card comes together this easily.  Don't you?  And for a bit of extra fun I'm going to enter this one in to the Love is in the Air Challenge over at Just a Scrappin.  You should come play along too.

Tag, You're It!

Today's post is brought to you by Cricut Cardz Challenge #98 where today we present you with two different Christmas tags using any cartridges of our liking.  As you will see I chose several cartridges.  And you might also notice that one of my tags is a recreation of a tag originally created by Scrapping Mommy.  Truth by told these tags offered me that final push I needed to go ahead and buy the Winter Frolic cartridge, and I'm so glad I did.

All of that said, I created these two tags using:

Winter Frolic for the Christmas tree
Accent Essentials for the scalloped tag
Tags, Bags, Boxes and More for the snowman's tag
Gypsy Wanderings for the Snowman

Just a Note

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was anything goes.  That's right.  Any theme.  Any cartridge/s.  Any color/s we want.  It's all fair game.

I chose to create a card of encouragement.  Actually, I had started designing this one on my Gypsy a while back and never finished it for some reason so this was the perfect time to get 'er done.  To make things even more exciting I found a new mat stack at Hobby Lobby this week.  It's called Faith by Paper Studio and I love the papers in this stack!

To create this card I used:

Gypsy Wanderings for the 'placard' cut at 5" and the note cut at 1 1/4"
Gypsy Font for the verbiage cut at 1 /4"
Home Decor for the bird cut at 3"

Now that your creative juices are flowing - come and play along with us.  Just create your card, click on the link above and follow the directions to link your card and be entered for a chance to win the October prize.

Snowman Gift Tags

Here's another little challenge for you.  This one is for the All Wrapped Up Challenge going on until Monday the 11th, and the 'directions' are to "create a paper crafted gift bag, tag, box, gift wrap, etc. that for the holiday season".  So I thought why not give this one a try as well (and there's still two more going on that I'm thinking about playing with).

For this one I re-created an old favorite using my Gypsy and the Gyspy Wanderings cart.  Yep the good ol' snowman soup tags.  This is always a fun classic for giveaways at Christmas time and the variations are endless see?

These others were created a while back using Doodlecharms, TBBM and I don't remember which of the Christmas carts.

And okay, I've only created three so far but I tell you they are endless...........

Keeper of the Stars

I designed this card on my Gypsy last month while on vacation in Alabama. I was inspired by a wall hanging I saw in a 'flea mall' there but just got around to cutting and putting it together last night.

For this card I used:

Gypsy Wanderings for the snowman cut at 4"

Gypsy Font for the words welded and cut to the sizes needed

A Child's Year for the stars cut at 3/4"

The next time I make this card though I'll have to chose a different color for my words or put it on a less color back drop. ;o)

I pray that you all have a very blessed and Merry Christmas!

Snowballs - Gypsy Design

I am so loving the fact that I have my new Gypsy. Yesterday word came down from corporate that they wanted dh to stay on-site (we work for a 500+ unit Condominium site and dh is the Director of Engineering) due to what was then Hurricane Ida. Needless to say we were less than prepared since we live an hour from site. BUT, I had my Gypsy. So after a trip to Wal-mart and dinner we settled in our room and away I went.

This card was created using:

Gypsy font for the verbiage,

Gypsy Wanderings for the snowman,

Winter Woodland for the snowflakes,

George for the snowball stand

Gypsy Christmas Reindeer

I designed this card on my Gypsy earlier this week and finally had the chance to cut and put it together last night.

Gypsy Wanderings was used for:
Reindeer cut at 2.5"
Trees cut at 4" and 3.75"

Winter Woodland was used for:
Snowflakes cut at 1"

The background was created by running a piece of cardstock through my Xyron and then applying Martha Stewart glitters in blue, snow and white.
