Crab Dip Recipe Page

Today's page features a recipe I found in a cooking magazine about 10 years ago.  You might find this hard to believe but even though I was born and raised in the town over from the World's Luckiest Fishing Village I am not a seafood person.  Don't get me wrong.  I will eat seafood......as long as it is fresh caught......as in when my dad or husband have been out fishing and bring it back.  Now I do indulge in the occasional crawfish tails or whatever but it is rare.

I tell you all of that because crab is something I typically do not eat at all.  It has a flavor that I find too strong.  But in this recipe the horseradish (which I love) helps to balance that.

For this page I thought it would be great to use Mr. Krabs from the Cricut cartridge SpongeBob Squarepants.  Instead of cutting and piecing together all of the small pieces though I decided to flatten the image for print and cutting.

I did something a little different with my printing this time too.  Instead of printing on cardstock I decided to try printing on photo paper.  Needless to say I am thrilled with the results because the colors pop so much better.

For the recipe card once again I used the cartridge From My Kitchen.

And finally, I'm going to enter this into the Anything Goes July Linky Challenge over at DL Art.

Spongebob on Parade Layout

During our trip to Universal Studios we were surprised around dinner time to find that a parade was getting ready to begin.  We had no idea what cast of characters we would see but it was a parade that was sure to be fun.

Unlike the parade we attended at Disney the streets were not roped off and the characters interacted with the crowd.  This parade while shorter was definitely more fun.  We saw characters from Despicable Me, SpongeBob, Hop, Dora and I forget who else.

During the parade there were several minutes where it came to a stop and the characters performed for those they were in front of.  I was excited to see that our performance would be by the SpongeBob characters.  It was so wonderfully refreshing to see the cast come to the sidewalk, squat down and talk with the children.  They weren't in a hurry to rush away but rather stayed and hugged, held hands for a moment and just talked with them.

Yes, this was definitely a better parade than the one at Disney....

Spongebob Altered Clock & Birthday Card

My youngest daughter turns 17 tomorrow and as those of you with teenagers know it's difficult to know what to do for them sometimes. Yeah, you can always buy music, clothes, or movies but would you buy the right ones? Ah, now you see my problem....Too often I have purchased some of these items for one or another of my children but it wasn't the right style, color, size, genre, etc.
So Saturday morning my daughter woke up poured herself a bowl of cereal, sat down and turned on Spongebob before getting ready for work. Needless to say, the lights went on and I knew whatever I did would be Spongebob related. Then I remembered that I had another clock waiting to be altered and the rest was history.

For this clock I cut:

Spongebob at 3 1/2"

Hamburger at 1"

Spatula (From My Kitchen) at 1 1/4"

And of course I had to have a card........

Spongebob Puzzle - Card Challenge #13

MShady's assignment for me was:

"Name of cartridge: Locker Talk

Cut to use: Puzzle on p. 68 maybe something about the confusion of HS but how it will fit together for her????? or Backpack on p. 40 maybe something about carrying her dreams with her???? Theme: First year of HS and the journey into the "real world" "

So here's what I came up with. See if you can find the following in the find a word inside: knowledge, art, spelling, and team.

The background paper/picture is a sheet of 12 x 12 paper that I purchased from my LSS. The "picture" is of the high school I graduated from that my daughter now attends - Niceville High School. And might I take a moment to brag that we won our first football game of the season last Friday?
