Spring Wishes

I am happy to announce that I have rejoined the Marjorie Ann Designs design team.  I took a couple months off for various reasons but they were crazy enough to take me back and so here I am.  😀

With Spring around the corner I thought it would be fun to create a springtime card.  I mean I don't know about you, but I'm ready for those wonderful days of beautiful sunshine.  I hate the cold. (Even though it doesn't get that cold in Florida compared to other areas.)  But I love the sun and the heat and being able to be outside doing what I love.  That's why when I saw these Spring Bonnet Girls I knew they'd be perfect for my return project.

I searched through my collection of card sketches and decided to use this one to showcase my bonnet girl.  It's a fun sketch that has some great versatility.  And it was perfect for this card.

The sentiment I chose for my card is from the Garden Cuties stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.  And to finish off my card I chose to use a couple of meadow green skittles from the DoubleClick Connections.

I've had quite the addiction to vinyl and glass lately so why not combine that with a great release?  I really love the size of the happy sentiment from the Happy Hello stamp set so I wanted to use that on a card.  And since I needed a treat holder to go with my card I made a candy jar using a quote from Harry Potter.

...Fries for You

It's good to be back in my craft after a week or so off.  I had another mud run/race last week and then with this week being a short one there was just no time for anything other than work and training at the gym.

Today I have a punny card that I would like to share with you.  And this one is perfect for Valentine's Day, an Anniversary, or Just Because.

For my card I used one of the bears from the We Go Together....like Fries and Ketchup file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  Because this little girl bear is so cute I couldn't bring myself to use a patterned paper for the background.  Instead I opted for a clean, white, embossed card.

The stamped sentiment is from the recently released More Foodie Punnies by Cardz TV Stamps.  Be on the lookout for other cards coming using a combination of stamps from this set and files from Marjorie Ann Designs.  It's like these two were made for each other.

To finish off my card I used a couple of the Stream colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections.  This is one of my favorite colors but she has a lot of great ones available.

And now I'm off to enter my card in the following challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes - Ends July 5th

Hiding in My Craft Room - Any Holiday - Ends July 4th

DL Art - Anything Goes (July Challenge) - Ends July 31st

Smile

Today I have a fun and easy card to share with you.  And yes, it's another Marjorie Ann Designs creation.  This one is from the Circus Fun 2 file.  After all who can resist a cute clown.

At first I had thought about turning this card into a birthday card and then I thought that was kinda cliché sooooooo, I opted to leave it a bit generic.  That way I can use for several different occasions depending on the need as it arises.  Now my card be used for a quick pick me up when encouragement is needed, sending get well wishes a birthday or any other type of celebration.

As for the stamped sentiment - that's from the Say it Big stamped set by Craftin Desert Diva's.

Wild About You

Happy Monday everyone.  Thanks for stopping in to see what I've created for  you today.  It means a lot to me when you pop in to see what I've done and leave comments on what you think.

Today I have this adorable tiger from the Wild About You file over at Marjorie Ann Designs.  It's another one of those cuts where I was excited to find that I had the perfect papers to coordinate with him an really make his cuteness shine.

I also used some of the rust skittles that I purchased from DoubleClick Connections.  I recently started adding these as embellishments to some of my cards and I love the added bling they give to the cards.

On the inside of my card I decided to use the clipart that comes with this file and print the title for use as my sentiment.

Now I have a cute card that I can give to any of my loved ones because it's not gender specific nor is it specific to any occasion.

Just Pigcause....

I have a fun little card I'd like to share with you today.  Originally the file I chose to use was created for a child's 4th birthday, but I loved this little piggy so much that I had to have him for something else.

For this card I used the pig from the Party Animal 4th Birthday file over at Marjorie Ann Designs.  My mud spot is from the Mud Run file by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, but I suppose you could use anything else that looks like a mud spot.  The two little flies are from the Cricut cartridge Campin' Critters.

The stamped sentiment is from the stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas titled Just Pigcause.  I also used this set to stamp a cute little pig on the inside of my card.

Extremely basic I know.  But I don't have markers or anything with which to color.  Even if I did I'm not so sure I'd be brave enough to give it a try though.  Besides this little piggy is cute - colored in or not.  :)

Happy Fall Ya'll

Today I have a Fall card that I want to share with you.  Yep, no holiday theme today, just a plain fun Fall season card.

For this one I used this great Snoopy scarecrow that I received during a recent SVG Cutting Files blog hop.  I'm telling you guys if you have a machine that does SVG files and you aren't participating in these blog hops you are missing out BIG TIME. .............  Jumping off my 'soap box' now.  LOL

Since Snoopy is a scarecrow I wanted to add some hay bales in to the pic and used these bales from the Old West cartridge.

To finish off my card I used this great sentiment from the recently released Hey Pumpkin stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.

I'm going to enter this card in to the following challenges:

Fall Colors - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends November 8th

Anything Goes - Fantabulous Cricut Challenge - Ends November 9th

Anything Goes - DL Art - Ends November 30th

Marley & Me (use an animal) - Red Carpet Studios - Ends November 15th

When Pigs Fly

Welcome to another PDE Linky Party everyone!  This is going to be a great party and I simply cannot wait to see everyone's take on this challenge.  For the next two weeks we are playing with PUNS.  How fun is that?  Create a project.  Any project.  Use a pun.  Link it up and play along with us.

For my project I used cuts from the Cricut Cartridges Pooh & Friends and Children Around the World.  I kept racking my brain on how to create a flying pig and then I saw a picture of a pig holding balloons and thought well why not put the pig in a hot air balloon?

The stamped sentiment is from the newly released set titled Just Pigcause by Craftin Desert Divas.  Talk about some fun puns - she's got 'em over there.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's project be sure to check out all the others our design team has created for you.  Then after you've been amply inspired, create your own and play along with us.

Worm Wishes

Happy Two-Fer Tuesday everyone!  This evening I want to share a card with you that I put together for a couple of fun challenges that are going on this week.  (I apologize for the picture quality.  I had to take it indoors since I didn't finish before the daylight was gone.)

This adorable cute file is from Too Cute by Jessica and the file is titled My Little Bugaboo.  If you haven't seen this file you really should check it out.  It has several cute little buggies that match up beautifully with the Lil Bit Buggy stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.  I also used George and Basic Shapes for the rectangles.

So for my card I cut out the little girl dressed as a worm at 4.57 inches tall.  Then I followed the sketch for the current Linky Party at Craftin Desert Divas that looks like this:

Only difference is I decided to create my card in the landscape mode rather than portrait.   I just felt like it was the better choice for the card.

Oh and those yummy skittles you see in the top left corner - those are from the summer release over at DoubleClick Connections.  If you love crafting with skittles you should really check out her selection.  And speaking of checking things out be sure you come back tomorrow because we'll be starting a brand new challenge at DoubleClick Connections and you won't want to miss out on the fun.

Until then I'm off to enter this card in to the following challenges:

A Clean House.....

I saw this great robot shaped card recently that used brads for the little nuts and bolts.  Of course I thought this was a great idea and so I had to create my variation.

Not only that but I also found another great quote that I wanted to use.

AND to top it all off there's this fun little challenge going on over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges so I figured why not combine all THREE ideas into one card......

I haven't broken out my Robotz cartridge in quite a while and I forgot about some of the really cute cuts on this cartridge.  But for the quote in mind only this cut would do.  As you can see I used 3 small metallic brads under the 'clean meter' as well as a screw brad in the tire.  I love the way that the brads added a little texture and oomph to the robot.

My background paper is called Floor Plan and it's from Creative Imaginations.  Oh and let's not forget about that quote I wanted to use...........

"A clean house is the sign of a boring person".  (Truth be told I did a little housework today.  lol)

As Soon As I Saw You....

....I knew an adventure was going to happen.  Winnie the Pooh couldn't have said it any better.  And thus begins my week of creating cards around a quote instead of the other way around.  Funny thing is I have found that starting with the quote can tend to make creating the card simpler.

For example, you could do quite a few things with this quote, but I chose to go with a single die cut found on the Rock Princess cartridge.  I wanted to shine it up a bit so I cut the bike out of a red metallic paper and the chrome pieces were cut from a gray metallic paper. My background paper is from the mat stack Rock on Love by Prima Marketing.

This little princess has herself all decked out and raring to go and thus I thought it was the perfect cut for an adventure.  Just to show you how perfect it is I'm going to borrow another "adventure" quote, this time by George Thorogood.....

Get your motor running
Head out on the highway
Looking for adventure
And whatever comes our way

Dream

Today's card is a very simple one using the butterfly from Home Decor and the word "dream" from Graphically Speaking.  I made this cut months ago with another card in mind and then when I tried to commit it to the card I never liked the way it looked so I scrapped everything but the butterfly.

After months of trying to figure out what to do with my poor butterfly I found the perfect paper and sentiment.  So without further delay I give you dreams....

"The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers.  But above all, the world needs dreamers who do."  Sarah Ban Breathnach

Thinking of You or Just Because Paisley

Here's another one of my completed assignments.  The instructions for this one was to "use SYI, using the paisley on page 79, doing a "just because" card. I'm interested in seeing the S-fold."

Coincidentally I had paper with paisley's on it as well so it all just came together.

Howdy Pardner

Here's another creation based on one of my March assignements.  For this one I was asked to create a card using Old West with a cowgirl theme.  Well this one could be used for a cow girl or boy.

This was a very easy card to cut and put together - especially with this great background paper I found.  It's from the All About Boys stack by DCWV.  As soon as I saw the papers in this stack I had visions of several cartridges that would work with it running around in my head.

Hello Spring Flower Garden

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create a spring themed card using flower, butterflies and/or birds. Well I used two out of three so that wasn't too bad. I also tried a new card fold - the side step, and I don't mind telling you that I had a lot of fun with this one. I found the side step to be more creator friendly than just the step card so you'll see more of these in the future.

For this card though I used several cartridges:

Paper Pups for the butterflies - cut at 3/4"

Stretch Your Imagination for the caterpillar - cut at 1"

Cricut Sampler (I don't have Walk in My Garden) for the flowers - cut at 2"

Zooballoo for the grass - cut at varying sizes for layering on the steps

Camp Out for the sign - cut at 2 1/2"

Animal Kingdom for the hello - cut at 1/2"

Cookie Monster - Just Because

It's been a while since I've posted and I really had no idea how long until this evening. Life has just been so crazy lately.....

Last night I created this card and had envisioned it turning out differently. However, when I started to put it all together my original idea wouldn't work so I went for this instead.

For this card I used

Sesame Street Friends - Cookie at 3"

Paper Doll Dress Up - Palm Tree at 5"

Life's a Beach - Crab at 1"

This is only the second time that I have used the new Life's a Beach cartridge and all I can say is that I cannot wait until Design Studio is updated to include this one. I guess I'm just too spoiled with being able to visualize what I'm cutting before I actually do it.

Flying By......

Dh bought me the new Hello Kitty cartridge for Valentine's Day so tonight I decided to sit down and play around with it. After looking through the booklet and the various card sentiments that I have collected I knew exactly what I wanted to do first.

For this card I cut the image at 3 3/4", inked the edges and put it all together.

The inside sentiment says "...to say HI"

Spending Time With You Card

Yet another card inspired by one of the sentiments from the post that was going around on the Cricut Message board a while back. However, I changed up the verbiage just a little bit to meet my needs.
For this card I used Graphically Speaking and Stretch Your Imagination. Very simple but effective - or so I thought.

The inside says, Spending time with you always lightens my heart and brightens my day.

Early Bird Card

"The early bird can have the worm...I'll see you around noon with a latte"

I love this phrase and if I remember correctly I got it off the post where we were all sharing card sentiments. on the Cricut Message Boards for cards. I've been trying to figure out how I wanted to interpret the phrase and this is what I came up with this morning.

For this card I used:
the Bird from Word Builders Garden of Words cut at 3"
the worm from Sesame Street cut at 1.25"
the tuft of grass from Zooballoo
the latte from Graphically Speaking cut at 3"
and "it does a body good" from Graphically Speaking
