Hoppy Easter

Today I have a project for you that I put together using a combination of Cricut and SVG files.  I love creating 3D projects and my craft room is beginning to overflow with them as I have yet to find home for a lot of what I've been creating.  Oh well they'll just sit on display until I find a good home that will love receiving them as much as I do making them.

So for today's project I created a card and a mini Easter basket.  The basket itself is from the Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  The cute little chickies and bunnies are from the SVG file title Easter Tweets by Marjorie Ann Designs.

For my card I used the same SVG file and also added some grass that I cut from two different Cricut cartridges - Sports Mania and Plantin Schoolbook.

The stamped sentiment is from the Mr. Big Ears stamp set by MayMay Made It.

Zombie Valentine

As a huge fan of the Walking Dead I couldn't pass up the opportunity to incorporate at least one zombe into a Valentine's Day card this year.  Now I didn't want any of the gore that comes with the show and 'typical' zombies but I did want the fun.  So what better cuts to use than these adorable zombies from Too Cute by Jessica?

I fell in love with these guys back over the Halloween season but when I remembered about the one zombie holding his heart in his hand I was like, yep - that's the one.  After all isn't that what Valentine's Day is about?  Giving your heart and love to someone?

Other than the zombie file the only other cut I used for my card was the grass and that is from the Cricut cartridge Sports Mania.

My sentiment is just one that I printed on my background paper.  That's right, no stamps were used in the making of today's card.  But don't you worry because they were used on the next one.  LOL

Have a great day everyone!

July 4th Color Run Shadow Box

Ah, the fun runs of summer.  As you all know by now I love being outdoors this time of year and while I'm not really much of a runner I enjoy signing up and doing the fun and mud runs.  So when I found out that a special edition of the Color Run was coming to town on July 4th I didn't hesitate to sign up.  And this year I got to run with my good friend Millie so that made it even more fun.  We had a great time and pushed each other to keep on running.

Of course my husband was there to cheer me on and take pictures as he always does so when I got home I chose my favorite shot and went to work creating this shadow box.  Thank goodness I had the foresight to keep my water cup at the last water station and my girlfriend thought to pick up some of the confetti as we crossed the finish line.

I used the running border cut from the Sports Mania cartridge and cut it in three different colors to represent the Patriotic spirit of July 4th and the colors they threw on us throughout the race.

And since this was a summer time event I'm going to enter it in the Summer Time challenge over at Craftin Desert Divas where anything summer goes.

For the Golfer - Masculine Card

Hiding in My Craft Room has this fun challenge going on this week where you make a project using 3 different designer papers.  This fun card fits that bill to a "tee".  And it makes for a quick and easy masculine card.

This was an easy card to put together because it used only one cut.....the golfer from Sports Mania.  And what golfer is complete without his funny print pants these days?  Well okay so not all of the big names where printed pants like they used to but I couldn't resist when I found this plaid paper with a print small enough to work.

The golf balls; however, are stickers from a Jolee's collection.

And the best thing about this card is that it can be used for a variety of occasions - birthday, get well, retirement, encouragement.  Don't you just love it when things come together quick and easy?

Team....

Today I have another DT challenge for Just A Scrappin' to share with you, and I have to admit that when I saw the directive for this one I was like "are you kidding me?". I had no idea what I was going to do for this one, but in the end it all came together and did so beautifully.

So what was the directive you ask. Well, we had to create a project with Volleyball as the theme. But it didn't stop there - we had to use the colors maroon, white and gold. Now this part wasn't too problematic for me because those are the school colors for our local highschool (from which I graduated). But wait, it didn't stop there either. We also had to use brads on our project.

Think, think, and think some more. Whatever in the world could I do? As I looked through the pages of my Sports Mania booklet I saw this cut with the hands up over the volleyball net and I heard the word "TEAM" yell out in my head. So off to the internet I went in search of a quote for teamwork and from there everything fell in to place.

As I mentioned earlier, the cut with the volleyball net and hands were cut from Sports Mania as was the volleyball. To make the card a little more interesting I placed my volleyball on an action wobble. See?

And that quote I mentioned earlier - it goes like this......

"Team means Together Everyone Achieves More!"

And now that you've seen my card hope on over to Just A Scrappin' and check out the other designs our team put together for your viewing pleasure this week. Then after you've been amply inspired create your own, link up and play along with us. I'd love to see what you create.

Slam Dunk Elmo - Birthday Card

So I'm on an Elmo roll. I think that I like the way this one turned out more than the baseball card. Although my daughter likes the baseball one better. What do you think?

The inside sentiment for this one says, "Happy Birthday - hope it's a slam dunk"

Baseball Elmo Birthday Card

This card was created for a friend of mine whose grandson is turning one next week. Well the mom is a Red Sox fan and I was trying to figure out a way to incorporate that into the card, but only got so far as a baseball theme.

For this card I cut the background to measure my card blank at 5 x 6.5 inches

Elmo was cut at 4"

The baseball glove at 1.25"

and the baseball at 1"

The inside sentiment was a poem written by my friend, but for future cards will say something like "Happy Birthday Slugger"

Oscar Loves Golf - Birthday

Today was my husband's birthday and I spent a week or better trying to design a card for him that would include something pertaining to one of his main hobbies: golf and weight lifting. After several attempts that just wouldn't cooperate I created this card. Of course this ended up being a redo of my original design but dh loved the way it turned out....

For this card Oscar was cut at 4 1/4"

The number 36 was cut from the Sesame Street cart at 1" and then scaled down to the size needed

The golf balls are from Sports Mania cut at 1" and scaled down to the size needed

The I love golf sign was cut at 1 1/2"

And the font - Trash - was downloaded from dafont.com

Golfers Birthday Card

I've had the Sports Mania cartridge for about a month now and bought it specifically for the golf cuts since dh is an avid golfer. Well today I finally broke it out and used it for a male birthday card that I wanted to sample.....

The inside says..... it's better if you don't keep score
