Cardz TV Cards Blog Hop - Tomorrow

Happy Friday everyone.  As we get ready for tomorrow's Cardz TV Cards design team blog hop I thought I'd take a moment today to re-share with you one of my favorite card I've created this past term.

This is one that I made back in January for one of our anything goes challenges.  My husband had just surprised me with a Silhouette Cameo for Christmas and I found this card in the store and fell in love with it.  I'm still hanging on to this one too because I'll be giving it to my dad for Father's Day next month.  He's an avid fisher so this is just perfect for him.

The sentiment that I used on this card is from the  Cardz TV Stamps Summer Fun stamp set.

And if you like this card be sure you come back tomorrow to join us for our blog hop.  There will be lots of great projects from the design team as well as some blog candy along the way.

Chillin'

First off I owe everyone a huge apology as I forgot to post this card yesterday for the Cardz TV any occasion challenge.  I've been sick all week and yesterday was my first day back to work and man I'm just way off track.  But without further delay, I give you my card for this week's challenge.

For this card I used the Father's Day Fishing Vest card from the Silhouette store, ID # 61021.  And the little fish in the pocket is from the Cricut cartridge Wild Card 2.

I had this great scrap of fishing paper in my stash and thought it was perfect to use as the shirt for the card.  Then I just chose shades of browns to compliment it for the vest.  Then I tied it all together (literally) using some twine.

The stamped sentiment on the pocket of my vest is from the Cardz TV Stamps set Summer Fun.

There's more to the sentiment but I only wanted this one word so I masked the rest of the stamp.  Then I used another sentiment (Have a SUN-sational day!) from the set for the inside of my card.  I just love how Mary's stamps are so versatile for all sorts of occasions.

And now that you have seen my take on this week's challenge, be sure to create your own card, link up and play along with us for your chance to win.  Happy crafting and I can't wait to see what you create.

You Are My Sunshine

I haven't played along in a BBTB2 challenge in quite some time and decided that the current sun challenge would be a good one to get my feet wet again.

For this card I used the Hello Kitty cartridge to cut my sun shaped card.  The front is supposed to have a smiley face in the center but using the contour feature I did away with the smiley because I wanted a solid cover for which to place the stamps I used.  Both stamps are from the Lil Bit Buggy stamp set by Craftin' Desert Divas.  As you can probably tell it's been quite some time since I've colored.  I have a mild case of carpal tunnel but holding pens/pencils is often difficult and my handwriting and such suffers.  Plus the only coloring instruments I currently have in the house are colored pencils. With time and better coloring tools it can only get better, right?  Besides we don't want to waste these wonderful stamps.

For the inside of my card I used the you are my sunshine phrase from Wild Cards 2.  I just thought this was a perfect way to follow up the stamped sentiment - especially with my card being a sun shape.

And now with that I am off to go enter my card in to the challenge before it ends on Sunday.

Love Letters

Today I'd like to share with you the project that I made for my husband's Valentine's Day gift.  I found these wonderful little 3 in x 4 in paper bags at Michael's and just knew I had to have them.  Especially since they were on sale 50% off.  I loved the idea that they had the space for journaling on the bag and thought they were the perfect size for making tags and hoped they wouldn't be too big to fit in one of the mailbox tins I had.  After discovering that they weren't too big off to work I went.

I used a variety of cartridges on this project including:

Going Places for the globe
Create a Critter 2 for the owl, phrases and bee
Handyman for the hammer and nails
Paper Dolls for the moon and stars, and the weights
Graphically Speaking for the smiley face
Suburbia for the fan
Indie Art for the dice
Wild Cards 2 for the boat
Mini Monsters for the monster
TBBM2 for the tags

This is a picture of the front of the tags

And this is the back of the tags.  As you can see I printed different sentiments to coincide with the graphic on the front of the tag.

Once they were all put together I matched them up with the paper bag that also had the sentiment written on it.

Then in to the mailbox all but 4 went.  Throughout this week I've left one tag in different hiding spots (truck, lunch bag, bowling shoes, shaker cup) for my husband to find at some point during his day.

For my mailbox - I cut a strip of 4 x 12 paper, wrapped it around the box (cutting out a spot for the flag).  I then traced and cut out the pieces for the front and back.  The stamped sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps snail mail.

Tomorrow I will place the mailbox - along with a Mine Craft Creeper plush (he's a huge Mine Craft fan) I picked up - in the front seat of his truck.......

Love Notes

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to another installment of Cricut Cardz Challenges.  This week it's all about Valentine's Day.  So grab your Cricut and create a round or square Valentine’s card using the card feature from any cartridge(s).

But before you do I'd like to share my card with you.  This week I chose to use the Wild Card 2 cartridge.  I love this cartridge; however, I have not used it very much.  That being said I thought this particular cut was perfect for this week's challenge.

Using a scrap of valentine themed paper I cut my lines and squiggly for the card and added a few hearts.  On the inside I chose to 'decorate' using a paper heart doily and a Valentine's themed sticker from my stash.

Easy, quick and still a great card.  And now that you've seen my card for this week's challenge be sure to hop on over to Cardz TV to check out the awesome creations the rest of our team put together for you.  Then create your own card, link up and play along with us.

We look forward to seeing what you create.

How Beautiful it is.....

.....to do nothing, and then to rest afterward......or so goes the Spanish Proverb.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.  I hope that you are having a wondeful day with your loved ones today.  I'd love to share a card with you that's all about "chill-axing" as some of my children would say.

I used the Wild Cards 2 for all my cuts; however, I decided that I didn't want to use the card base so I created my own.  What do you think?  I'm thinking that I'm going to have to look in to using this cartridge more because the more I look at it the more great cuts I see.

Miss Your Face

Happy Friday everyone!!  Today I have another challenge for you and this time is all about the face.  That's right, our challenge this week was to create a card with a face.  And what would be better I ask you than this cut from the new Wild Cards 2 cartridge?  Okay, well there are a few and I think our awesome design team has found them all for you so be sure you hop on over to Pause Dream Enjoy to take a look.

As soon as I saw this cut I knew that I had to use it for this week's challenge.  Even better I knew exactly who I was going to send this card to.......my oldest daughter.  She has these adorable saying that end in "your face" like "hush your face".

This was a very easy card to make since the cartridge does all the work for you.  Now I just need to find a little more time so I can sit down and play with this cartridge a bit more.

So this week's sponsor for our challenge is

Fresh Brewed Designs and this week's winner will take home 3 digis of their choice http://freshbreweddesigns.com/ .  Now go take a look at all the other great projects our team has put together for you.  Then break out those card making tools, create your own and come back here - or go to Pause Dream Enjoy - and link up your creation so you can play along with us AND be entered for a chance to win this week's prize.

I can't wait to see what you create!
