Happy Camper

Ladybugs and picnics, not necessarily the insect I expect to find at a picnic but when I look at this cutie all ready to pig out I'd much rather it be her.  😀  I found this adorable ladybug over at Marjorie Ann Designs and immediately knew she'd be a cute one to use for a card.  She's from the file Ladybug Picnic.

After I cut and pieced the ladybug together I was searching through my files and papers, trying to decide how I was going to lay out my card.  During the search through my paper stash I came across two different papers that I really wanted to use.  One was all ladybugs and the other was different insects but I thought they worked well together.

Problem was that I'd already cut the papers to splice together with others and the two remaining pieces wouldn't fit together.  As I played around trying to figure out the hopeless puzzle I had another piece of the insect paper cut the same way that I turned around and that's when the light went off.  I would use all three papers and cross them over each other to create the look you now see on my card.

On the front of my card I stamped a row of ants walking across the bottom of the card.   They are from the Lawn Fawn stamp set titled Happy Summer.

The stamped sentiment at the top of my card is from the Cardz TV stamp set titled Summer Fun.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

Cut it Up - Picnic - Ends June 28th

Happy Summer Picnic Ants

The weekend is coming to a close as another work week looms upon us.  It will be a bit more difficult for me to get back to work since my family has just finished a wonderful vacation at Universal Studios (layouts to follow).

In the meantime though I have a summer time card to share with you this morning.  This one was made using clip art from the Summer Picnic Ants file by Marjorie Ann Designs that you can find here.

The stamped sentiment and cute trail of ants is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set Happy Summer.

I also used a couple of skittles in Sunset Orange to embellish my card.  You can purchase these and other colors at DoubleClick Connections.

Happy Summer

I don't know about you but I am thrilled that the weather is warming.  That means more time outdoors doing the things I love - including cooking out.  We don't picnic much but a cookout with good food is close enough for me.

And so today I share a card with you featuring one of the adorable ants from the Summer Picnic Ants file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  I pieced this one together using a metallic type paper thinking I'd get a bit of a different look than I did.  Not that it looks bad but when I make the next one I think I'll stick with regular paper.

The sentiment I used on my card is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set titled Happy Summer.

On the inside of my card I used the same stamp set with the ants and trail along the bottom.  For the sentiment I used the Summer Fun stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

There's a Bundle of Joy

Today I'm sharing a card with you that I made for my Grandma to let her know that she's going to be a Great - Grandma again.  This past week our youngest daughter finally announced her pregnancy (only a select few of us have known for a while) along with the baby's gender!

Surprise - it's a girl!

For my card I used clip art from the Bubbles the Bear Sweet Dreams file from Marjorie Ann Designs.   The stamped sentiment is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set titled Plus One.  On the inside of the card I stamped the sentiment "on the way!" in pink ink and then stamped little hearts all over.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin Divas - February's Sketch - Ends February 7th

DL Art  - February Linky Party - Ends February 28th

Be Merry Gingerbread

It's time for another PDE Linky Party everyone!  This time we are showcasing projects that use either metal dies, punches or a combination of the two.  I chose to use the Martha Steward Drippy Goo punch for my project.

This cute little gingerbread is part of the Baking for Santa file over at Too Cute By Jessica.  I love these gingerbread because they're cute and they give me a reason to break out this punch for something other than Halloween.

For this project I wanted to give the look of whatever gooey mess is being rolled out for the baking was just dripping from the rolling pin.  I punched out my punch, lined it up on the pin and then applied some Tombow glue and then sprinkled on some blue embossing glitter.  After that I heat embossed the area so that the glue would bubble up a bit and add some texture.

The stamped sentiment is from the Peace Joy Love stamp set by Lawn Fawn.

And now that you've seen my project be sure to check out the other fabulous projects our team have created for you this week.  Then take some time to pull out your dies or punches and play along with us.  We'd love to see what you create.
