Cinderella's Slipper

Have you seen the recently released At Midnight file by Marjorie Ann Designs?  If you love all things princess this is a must have addition to your paper piecing stash.

While this particular file has your favorite Cinderella princess, prince charming and fairy godmother, it also includes Cinderella's carriage and glass slipper.  Oh and let's not forget the castle or pumpkin.  With so many great options in this file it was hard to decide which image to play with first.  But as you can see I finally settled on the glass slipper.

Since glass slippers are just that.  Glass.  I decided to use a scrap of vellum I had for the slipper image.  I love the way that it turned out as it gives that sheer image you would expect of a glass slipper.

The sentiment I used for this card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Enchanted

To finish off my card I decided to add a couple of stream colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections.  There's just something about those skittles that I love and you can bet that I'll use them every chance I get.

It's a Hero Thing

I love it when I can combine my love for papercrafting along with my love for embroidery.  Today's project is just such a combination.

A while back I added the Little Heroes file from Marjorie Ann Designs to my stash.  And over the course of a month I created three other such card and burp cloth sets featuring Superman, Batman and Captain America.  But today, I get to share a set featuring the Hulk.

The stamp set I used for this card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Super Hero (same set as the revamped, but before it was 'revamped').

For the burp cloth, I used the recently released Hulk applique from Stinkin Cute Applique.  He was absolutely fun and easy to stitch together and I tell ya her designs just keep getting better and better.

Since my other heroes were stitched on a cloud print flannel I decided to stitch my Hulk on the same print.  It's a flannel print that I found at Hobby Lobby and is appropriately called cloud print. I think this is one of my favorite flannels that I have found for use with my burp cloths.

And there you have it.  Another collision of two of my favorite crafts.

Princess Tiana - You're Awesome

Today I'd like to introduce you to the latest princess in my Princess themed card collection.  This beautiful princess file is from Marjorie Ann Designs and is titled A Princess and Her Frog.

When I first saw this file I just fell in love with it.  The princess is absolutely gorgeous in her green shimmery gown.  Of course I was out of shimmery paper so I had to create my own shimmer by using my white gel pin to add some accents of white pops.

But oh, up against that background paper I found in my Once Upon a Time stack by DCWV I think she pops even better.  The picture doesn't really do my card much justice but if you could see it in real life you'd be able to see all the shimmer of the lily pads on the background paper.  I mean, really how perfect was it that I found a lily pad print paper for this princess?

And my stamped sentiment?  Well that's from Jaded Blossom's stamp set titled Super Hero 2.

And with that I am off to enter my card into the following challenge:

Friendship - Cut it Up - Ends August 9th

Elves Make Christmas Happen

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Today I have an adorable Christmas elf to share with you.  This little cutie is part of the North Pole Buddies files from Treasure Box Designs.

The background on my card is really just a cheat as it's a card blank that I had in my stash.  Sometimes when you need to whip up a card real quick those pre-printed blanks come in real handy.

The sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Elf Workshop.  This stamp set and the Elf Report Card are two sets that you just cannot go wrong with when it comes to anything Elf and Christmas related.

For the finishing touch I opted to use a yellow skittle on the end of my elf's hat instead of the paper jingle bell.  Skittles is one of my favorite card embellishments, and you can find them at DoubleClick Connections.

And now I'm off to enter my card in the following challenges:

Christmas in July - Cut it Up Challenges - Ends July 26th

Any Holiday - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends July 28th

Too Sassy For You

I'm excited to share today's card with you.  Not because it's more special than any other I've created but because this one was really fun to piece together.  As soon as I saw this Cruella inspired character I knew I wanted to create something with her.

This fun little villain is from the Queen of Mean file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  You won't find this file anywhere else as it is exclusive to Marjorie.  When you purchase this file and start to piece Cruella together I will warn you that her hair was a brief challenge.  It took me a minute to realize that the hair is adhered with the top actually to the side of the head this time.  Once I got past that the rest of the piecing was a breeze.

The sentiment for my card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Sassy Pants.

To finish off my card I added a couple of Stream colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

BFFs for Life

I have a fun 'teen' card I'd like to share with you today.  Well, I guess it's not really a 'teen' card if you think about the fact that so many adults are right there too. Where you say?  With phone in hand, texting, tweeting, Facebooking, etc.

When I saw this recently released Social Media Kids file from Marjorie Ann Designs I knew it was going to be a fun one.  As always, she did not disappoint.  The file includes several emojis, phrases,  word balloons, and characters.

For my card, I chose one of the girls and word balloons, which I changed into different sizes for stamping.  Inside the word balloons I stamped words or phrases using the following stamp sets:
And there you have it, a fun card perfect for giving to any friend.

Surfer Girl

Living in an area where the beaches are dubbed the World's Most Beautiful Beaches, it's no surprise that we see a lot of different water activities at those beaches. Everything from fishing to jet skis to paddle boards and surfing.  So when I saw this recently released file from Marjorie Ann Designs I knew it was one I needed to added to my stash.  This file is called Gone Surfing and will make not only some great cards but great layouts too.  (Now I just need pics of the kids out on their surf boards.)

For this card I decided to use the girl on her surfboard.  I added a few denim colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections to add a bit of texture to the card.

The stamped sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Encouragement.

Ginger Christmas Tea

Christmas in July has begun but this week I'll be sharing more than just Christmas projects with you.  My granddaughter turns one in a couple of days and I have been asked to assist with making some things for the party.  So be on the look out for those.

But today I have a Christmas card to share with you.  I love making shaped cards when I can so when I saw this one over at Marjorie Ann Designs I just had to create it.  This is the Christmas Tea Ginger card and  you can find it here.

The stamped sentiment and the hearts along the edge of my card are from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Gingerbread Wishes.  This is a great stamp set that even includes a gingerbread die cut.

Thanks for Behaving

Now that the month of June is half over I figured it was time I started getting some Christmas cards made so that I'll have enough for giving out this season.  It never seems to fail that I have to buy one box of cards every year.  Well not this year!  And with Christmas in July around the corner it'll be even easier to get them done.  Of course craft show season is also around the corner so I'll have to find that happy balance. 😀

Today's card was made using the Just Elfing Around file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  Since I have issues with piecing some of the smaller pieces in this file I opted to do a couple of things differently.  I used printed paper for my shopping bag and instead of piecing the stripes on the leggings I opted to 'draw' them on using the tip on an ink pad.

My stamped sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Elf Workshop.

Owl Post

Today I'm sharing a fun, magical card with you.  I made this one using the Harry Potter file from Treasure Box Designs.

My background was made using scraps of my 9 3/4 print papers that I found in my stash.  The grey paper I distressed using my Tim Holtz paper distresser.

Then using stamps from the My Favorite Wizard stamp set by Jaded Blossom, I stamped my sentiment and added a little lightning bolt to my owl.  I also used this same stamp set for the inside of my card.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Masculine - Ends May 27th

Cabana Bay Layout

My crafting will be a bit sparse over the next couple of weeks as I begin to pack up my room to prepare for my move.  One of my boys is moving out and so I'll be moving into his old room and moving my remaining son into mine.  The remaining son is seldom home anymore and is planning to move to Tallahassee soon so I figured there wasn't much point in waiting.  Instead I'll begin the shifting this week and in so doing that means there's some work I'll be doing in my "new" room before I complete the move in.

In the meantime though I sat down and pulled out pictures from our trip to Universal Studios which I'll be scrapbooking.  Yesterday was the first layout of the hotel in which we stayed on-site.  If you like things that are retro, you'll love Cabana Bay.  Everything from the décor to the music that plays throughout the resort, to the videos that play on the TV in the food court area is all from the 50's and 60's era.  The best thing is once you park, you don't have to leave property.  Everything you need is there - including a shuttle to take you back and forth to the parks.  Our first stay with them was last year and it's where we'll continue to stay because we love it so much.

Since the hotel is retro 50's/60's style I decided to use the 50's Diner set from Marjorie Ann Designs.  Instead of using all the words that came for the license plate and sign I opted to use stamp in those areas.

On the license plate and the heart of my sign I used the Teenage Dream stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.

On the main sign, under Nifty, I used the Picture That stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.

I have some more pictures from Cabana Bay to scrapbook so you'll get to see a bit more later.

On the bottom of the sign I used Magical Memories from Jaded Blossom.

Troll Mine

Well it's Monday, and that means that play time is over for most of us as we prepare to begin another work week.  Hopefully you had a good weekend.  I spent mine hanging out with my baby sister on Saturday.  Then Sunday we spent time with our daughter and granddaughter.  In between all that I did get a bit of crafting done.

Today I want to share with you one of the cards I made yesterday.  I had a lot of fun playing around with this one and I'm pleased with the turn out.  For this card I used the recently released You're My Treasure - Trolls file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  This wonderful file has four different trolls and all just as cute as can be.

The mine background is a digi stamp called Mine Digital Stamp, and it's from Craftin' Desert Divas.  Now I'm not great at coloring and even though I have all these Spectrum Noir stamps I decided to color this stamp a bit different.  For this go round I opened the stamp in my paint program and added the colors.  I then opened it in another photo editor to change it up a bit (unfortunately I do not have Photoshop) until I was satisfied.  To get the background the size that I wanted for my card, I inserted into Word and changed up the size then printed on a piece of white cardstock.

The sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom Stamp set titled Sweet Travels.

To finish off my card I used a couple of slate colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections in the top corner.

And since I haven't done a challenge in a while I thought it would be fun to enter this one into the Fun Day Friday Challenge at Jo's Scrap Shack.

Tangled Birthday

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I made using the Princess (Rosana) file from Treasure Box Designs.  She is another in the line of princess cards I've been making, and after piecing her together I thought she'd be perfect for giving to a little princess on her birthday.

As you can see on this card I opted for using a few crystal gems on my flowers.  I thought this would add the perfect touch of bling.  After all it is a princess card.

The background paper is from the DCWV mat stack Once Upon A Time.  This time I chose a paisley print which I thought complimented Rosana's outfit.

The stamped sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Coworkers.

You Make Me...

I thought we'd visit with another princes.  This time we're going to Arendelle.  Okay, not really but today's card does feature the princess Elsa from Frozen.  She is part of the design file titled Ice Princess from Marjorie Ann Designs.

As I started going through my scrap papers trying to find the right ones for this file I was excited to find that I had the perfect pieces.  A little ice blue glitter paper for the gown and some velum for the sheer train.  Perfect!  Although the card does look better in real life.

For my background papers I of course had to use some of the snowflake prints from my Winter Solstice by DCWV.

Then on the inside of my card...

...I decided to carry over and stamp some more snowflakes.

The outside sentiment as well as the one on the inside are from the Happy Hello stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  The snowflakes are from the Winter Wonderland stamp set by My Craft Spot.  She is no longer selling stamps but if you were lucky enough to snag this one, or if  you're just curious, you can view the stamp set and gallery of cards made using this set on her blog here.

Chipped or Cracked

I have a fun, interactive card that I'd like to share with you today.  Today I'm using Chip from the Beauty & Beast file by Treasure Box Designs.

Once again I wanted to do something that was different with this card.  I realize that Chip is not a princess but he's a downright cutie who was there for one.  So what did I do that was different you ask?  I know, just looking at my card you can't tell.

But, as you may have guessed, I did this....

I put my little Chip on an Action Wobble.  These little plastic springs are amazing and I love that this simple spring can add this much fun and charm to a card.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Enchanted stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  This set is perfect for any Beauty and the Beast or other princess themed greeting card.

Have a great day everyone.

It's A Girl Princess Card

Following along in my princess theme, I have a new baby congratulatory card to share with you today.  This one uses Belle as the princess inspiration.  She is part of the Beauty & the Beast file from Treasure Box Designs.

As I began to create my card I knew I wanted to do something a little different.  Since I was on this princess 'series' kick I wanted something other than the rectangular shape folded card.  So I did a bit of searching through my files and decided to use the ornate card base 3 from SVG Cutting Files.  I love how this shape adds just the right amount of dress up to go with my little princess.

And, since this is a princess card I used paper from the Disney Princess mat stack by EK Success as my background.  From there I wanted to do something a bit different as far as the card theme.  I didn't want it to be a birthday card or another friendship card.  The more I thought about it, the more I decided that Belle would make a good new baby card.  After all those precious baby girls are our princesses.

The stamped sentiment I used for this card is from the Sweet Baby stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

Nothing Is Impossible

We had a crazy, busy weekend meeting up with friends we haven't seen in a while, running errands and the start of seasonal yard work.  But I was still able to get some crafting in while everyone else was sleeping.  That seems to be the best time for me sit in my craft room and get things done anyway.

So today I have a princess card to share with you.  This one features Snow White from the Snow Princess file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  I've been on a bit of a princess kick the past few days so you'll be seeing a lot of princess projects.  I guess you could say it's a new card series.  LOL

Anyhow, for this particular card I decided to use my swirls embossing folder to add some wave to Snow White's hair.  And you can see that I added a bit of "highlights" aka ink lightly smeared across the swirls.

The background paper is from the DCWV mat stack Once Upon A Time.  I chose to use a page that had a story line to it but had to make sure that I used the parts that didn't talk about the frog.  After all Snow White doesn't talk to frogs in her story.

The stamped sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom set titled Encouragement.  To finish off my card I used a couple of Purple Twilight colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

Some Bunny Special

This Easter will be my granddaughter's first Easter, and we can't be more excited.    So of course being the grandma that I am I had to sit down and make an outfit for her.  I didn't want anything fancy - after all Ocean is a beach and sand baby.  (In case you couldn't tell by the name)  For that reason I wanted simple and cute.

Using one of the cap sleeve dress blanks from Hobby Lobby I chose to applique the dress with the Easter Bunny Applique from Stinkin' Cute Applique.   Okay, well, I didn't choose.  My daughter did.  I sent her pictures of a few different bunny designs and this was the one she settled on.

My daughter also loves to put headbands on Ocean.  Not the ones with the bows as big as her head, but the small, simple ones.  And they look great on her.  So with that in mind I had to make this adorable bunny ear headband I found over at the Applique Corner to go with the dress.  To ensure that the two went together I used the same fabric for the Easter basket on the dress as I did for the headband.

But wait, that's not all.  😁  I also made an Easter card that matches with her outfit.  That's right.  Marjorie Ann Designs has an SVG file titled You're Eggstra Sweet that compliments the applique.  Pretty nifty, huh?

The stamped sentiment on the card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Honey Bunny.

Yep, I just love it when my crafting passions can collide so wonderfully.....

Super Birthday Wishes

I am happy to announce that today I am a guest designer over at Die Cuttin Divas.  This week it's Challenge #310 and Anything Goes.

For my project I decided to create a special birthday card for my I Run 4 Buddy who's birthday is this week.  I Run 4 is a group where runners are paired up with those who are unable to get out there an run.  So those of us who can run or just love being active get out there and do it for them.  When we do organized races such as our Spartans or marathons we send them a medal from that race.  And when we're just out there in the gym or hiking or whatever we let them know that we were out there getting it done - in their honor.

Now back to my card.  My Run 4 buddy is a big fan of Superman so I decided to use the Superman from the Super Chubbies Super Heroes file from Marjorie Ann Designs on his card.  Of course Superman has to stand out and for that I thought this paper from the Little Man mat stack from Paper House would be perfect.

To finish off my card I used the Super Hero 2 stamp set from Jaded Blossom for my sentiment.  On each side of the sentiment I added a single red skittle from DoubleClick Connections.

Now that you've seen my project for this week's challenge, be sure to create your own (remember Anything Goes), link up and play along with us.  We can't wait to see what you create.

Hello Sugar Angel

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I have a cutie of a card that I'd like to share with you.

I woke up pretty early this morning and thought I'd play in my craft room while the hubby was still sleeping and I had some time before having to get ready for work.  After going through a couple of files I decided I'd used this Sweet Sugar Angel from Marjorie Ann Designs as the focus of my card.

Then using Mojo Monday's sketch #442 I pieced together my card.

The stamped sentiment is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Hello Hello.

I also used some watermelon colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections as the center of my bows.

And finally, over at Cut It Up challenges the current challenge is to use either faux or real stitching on your card.  As you can see I opted for faux.

Now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cut It Up - You've Got Me in Stitches - Ends April 5th

Hiding in My Craft Room - Designer Paper x3 - Ends March 25th
