Which Card Should I Enter in the Fair? - Poll Take 2

It was brought to my attention today that many of you were trying to vote in my poll but that it wouldn't work. So I asked dh to take a look into the situation. What we found was that we couldn't set the permissions for everyone to vote like we thought we had. It only allows "members" of the forum to vote. I apologize for all the chaos and confusion as dh has been trying the forum as a new venture in relation to the online craft store that we will be opening in October. And thank you for sticking with us through our learning curves.

That said anyone who's participated in my contests knows how much I hate it when you have to sign up to follow a blog or post a link from someone else's to yours etc in order to enter......so I have decided to post all the choices here for your voting pleasure and convenience. Besides I really need your help. :o)

Please leave a comment below with your card choice and this weekend I will chose a winner at random who will win a brand new Stretch Your Imagination cartridge.

Here are your choices:

Combination Confusion

"Foxy" Hi

Hanging Around
Kissing Frogs
Boo to You

College Bound
Magical Christmas

Skating Snowglobe

Mrs. Claus' Cookies

Playground
Snowman Soup

Cast your vote & enter for a chance to win

Now that all of the cards from the challenge are complete it's time to decide which one I am going to enter into the County Fair next month. I have removed all cards that have a third party license (Disney, Nickelodeon, etc.) as well as the ones that I have already given away.

Click on this link and cast your vote and enter for a chance to win a brand new Stretch Your Imagination cartridge - http://spotofsanity.com/forum/index.php?topic=69.0 . I promise that your contact information will in no way be used for solicitation purposes and will be removed from my system once the voting is over and the winner is announced.

If you would like to see all 30 of the cards created from the personal challenge in August you will find them in the gallery.

New Home Congratulations - Card Challenge #24

Wendy asked me to create a card with Home Decor. She said:
I am new to the "Cricut world", and need a "Congratulations on your new home". I thought the Home Decor cart would be nice. I am not sure of the cuts. I am not very creative, which is why I love your blog!! Maybe the chandelier, for an old world look?
So after several scrapped designs I just decided to take the easy way out and use the chandelier by itself. Very simplistic I know.....but sometimes less is more.
The "Congratulations" are slide on alphas from the Paper Studio that I found on clearance at Hobby Lobby. I bought a couple packs figuring I'd use them on something and after months of hanging on the peg wall I finally found the perfect project.

Paper Pups Christmas - Card challenge #23

Karma's assignment for me was to use:

Paper Pups for the cart, using any of the Christmas themed cuts like the doggies in stockings or the Santa doggie, perhaps with the fireplace? And of course, the Christmas theme! I used Christmas Cheer for the fireplace.

Chance to Win a Gypsy

Cartridge Helper is giving away a free Gyspy. The winner will be chosen on October 16th. So take stroll on over and enter for your chance to win......I know I did.

Piglet Get Well - Card Challenge #22

Laney's assignment for me was: How about Pooh & Friends Use Piglet and make a Get Well Card

I saw this idea done originally with Pooh months ago and thought it was so cute that I chose it for this card.

The bed and the blanket are from the new Every Day Paper Dolls. The blanket was actually a towel that I cut around on to fit my needs.

Free Standing Family Tree

I created this family tree to go along with my "Rouse House" that I made back in April. The inspiration for the project came about when I was browsing through a catalog and saw a wood kit for creating one. As soon as I saw it though I thought I can make one of those.....so away I went - creating my own family tree.

This one was created using foam core board and grungeboard for the picture frames.

Minnie Mouse Prom Invite - Card Challenge #20

Angie's assignment for me was:

My sixteen yr old daughter would like

Theme getting ready for First Prom

Cart. Mickey and Friends

Cut any of the girls this would be used as invite for the girls to get ready And I loved the way this was turning out and decided that it could go either prom or Sweet 16.

So I created both sentiments, but since my daughter's best friend turns 16 in a couple weeks we are going to use this card for her.

The dream bubble was created using the icon cuts for a necklace, shoe, lipstick and nailpolish. The necklace and shoe were coated with glitter for sparkle.

Zoey's Bday Dance - Card (Pedestal) Challenge #19

For this card Hannah asked that I use the following:
Cart-Sesame Street
Theme-Birthday or first day of preschool or Kindergarten
Cut-Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and/or Zoey

Since I had not used the Zoey cut before I chose that one for this card. AND I saw the technique for the pedestal card on the Cricut Christmas blog at http://cricutchristmas.blogspot.com/ ....well of course I just had to try it as well. Needless to say it was so easy and I love the end result so I know I'll be making more of these.

Ice Skating Snowglobe - Card Challenge #18

How ironic.....Barbara's ****ignment for me was:

Cart: Christmas Cheer OR Christmas Noel OR Joys of the Season

Cut: any

Theme: Christmas You may use cuttlebug; but do not use Design Studio.

For this card I chose to use the snowglobe from Christmas Cheer and the skater and words are from Winter Wonderland. I have to admit that I was so excited about this idea that I completely forgot about using the cuttlebug.

The snowglobe was filled using Martha Stewart mica flakes, crystal coarse and snow for the texture variety.

Once again my camera and scanner do not wish to cooperate in providing a picture with the vibrant colors that are actually used on the card......I have really got to invest in a better camera soon.

Happier Home, Baby - Card Challenge #17

I'm getting closer to the completion of my first personal challenge and I've already decided what I'm going to do for my next one. But I'm waiting until I complete at least 20 of the cards from the first challenge before I post a new one.

For this card Lisa Scrappingpinklady said:

I would like to see you use the home decor cart. Cut to use the adorable bird cut with big tail feathers. Type of card A baby card.

Since I love this bird cut it wasn't hard to come up with a design. All cuts used are from Home decor with the exception of the nest which is from Zooballoo. And I wanted this card to be in all basic/single colors so I chose to go without a picture type background this time.

Winter Wonderland Altered Clock

I love the new Winter Wonderland cartridge and when I saw the ice skater on this cartridge I knew that I had to use it with this background paper I had purchased a while back.

I've been wanting to make a clock for a little while now so I finally bought a couple from Walmart and sat down and made this one a few days ago.

And since I've been asked about how I know where to place my numbers/images on the clock face so that it will tell the correct time I created a tutorial.

If you would like a copy of the tutorial please see the tutorials tab.

UPDATED: Wow! This is the third time that one of my creations has made the Cricut Chirp! and I am excited beyond words. Check it out: http://www.cricut.com/newsletters/volume.aspx?ID=202

Boo to You - Card Challenge #16

For this one Shelbywoo said: i would love to see what you do with the stretch your imagination anything to do with halloween esp the spiders they are too cute and well it'd be a halloween card!

I had to cut my skeleton a couple times because I have carpal tunnel in both hands and I kept messing up whenever I tried to draw over the cuts for the facial features, etc. Finally I was able to get this one and just went with it.

I apologize for the bit of blur but my scanner didn't want to cooperate with me.

Time, Graduation & Dr. Seuss - Card Challenge #15

Half way there now......

Remus79's homework assignment for me was I would like to see you use the following: Cartridge:Graphically Speaking

Cuts: Any of the TIME features - words, phrases, clocks (hopefully a graphic and a word or phrase)

Theme: manly college graduation

As I complete each card I'm posting them in a gallery and when they are all complete I'm going to have another contest and the prize will be a Cricut cartridge..... http://spotofsanity.com/forum/index.php?action=mgallery;sa=album;id=3

Christmas Magic - Card Challenge #14

rstuck2003's homework assignment for me was:

Cart: Christmas Noel

Cut/s: Any you want to use!

Theme: Christmas Card

Perfect timing on this one because I had a couple ideas for creating my own embossing folders and after a couple of attempts I finally created one that worked. So here's my first card made with the folder.

The "magic" tag was cut from the new Winter Woodland cart.

I'm not sure that I like the way it all turned out but I still love the concept.

Spongebob Puzzle - Card Challenge #13

MShady's assignment for me was:

"Name of cartridge: Locker Talk

Cut to use: Puzzle on p. 68 maybe something about the confusion of HS but how it will fit together for her????? or Backpack on p. 40 maybe something about carrying her dreams with her???? Theme: First year of HS and the journey into the "real world" "

So here's what I came up with. See if you can find the following in the find a word inside: knowledge, art, spelling, and team.

The background paper/picture is a sheet of 12 x 12 paper that I purchased from my LSS. The "picture" is of the high school I graduated from that my daughter now attends - Niceville High School. And might I take a moment to brag that we won our first football game of the season last Friday?

Hello Kitty Halloween - Card Challenge #12

Tonight's card is based on my homework assignment courtesy of missychan:

"Cart: Hello Kitty

Cut: "Pick your kind" as my DD says

Project: A card

HK is my DD's favorite... and I'm running out of ideas, so maybe I can scrap lift yours when it's finished?"

For the pumpkin, I cut one of the shapes from grungeboard, glued it to the background piece, poured in a little green and gold glitter, covered with transparency and then glued on the top pumpkin shape cut from orange cardstock.

My grass is from PPDU. The colors didn't come through too well thanks to the gloss of Kitty's costume but that's okay.

And for those of you that are keeping score - here's my hint on the next card: it's a real puzzler.......
