Happy Haunting

I'm a bit late with my post for today.  We decided late last night that we were going to hit the gym early today.  I mean like before 6AM early.  Now that our granddaughter is here we've been doing a lot of babysitting while mommy and daddy work and that's meant a decline in gym time.  So like everything else we came up with an alternate plan.  Go in the morning.  It won't be every day that we do it - just those when we need to.

And that leads me to posting today's project this evening.  Granddaddy is playing with Ocean (that's our granddaughter's name) so that I can come play with you for a few.  :)

So for today's project I have a Halloween card that I'd like to share.  This one was made with the newly released Marshmallow Bear Happy Haunting file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  She has some great Halloween files and this one is no exception.

For my stamped sentiment I used the Ghostly Greetings stamp set from Craftin Desert Divas.  The spider is from the August 2014 Peachy Keen Stamps release, set PKSC-32.  On the inside of my card I also used Peachy Keen Stamps and these are all from the Trio of Girl Ghosts.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas - Anything Goes - Ends Sunday, September 4th

Hiding in My Craft Room - Any Holiday - Ends Saturday, September 3rd

Jo's Scrap Shack - Cut it Up - Ends Friday, September 2nd

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends Wednesday, August 31st

Scary Tree

I had a little time to play in my craft room this weekend in between all the cleaning and organizing so I decided to pull out my Silhouette Cameo and play around with a couple of Halloween files I purchased earlier this month.  Today I'm going to share with you the card I made using the Scary Halloween Tree file (Design ID #95200) by Miss Kate Cuttables.

It was a fun tree to put together but as I sit here and look at the picture I took I notice that some of cuts did not cut quite as clean as I thought.  Don't you just hate it when that happens?

I decided to use a couple of yellow skittles in my night time sky and the stamp face on the tombstone is from the Peachy Keen stamp set titled Trio of Girl Ghosts.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Double Click Connections - Spooky Fun Challenge - Ends October 27th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Hiding in My Craft Room - Favorite Cutting Tool - Ends October 24th

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 23rd

Boo Mummy

Today I have a quick and easy but oh so cute Halloween card to share with you.

For my card today I used one of the owls from the Halloween Hoots set by Marjorie Ann Designs.  This little cutie was so easy to piece together I couldn't believe it.  And I just love the way he turned out.

My stamped sentiment is from the Peachy Keen stamp set titled Trio of Girl Ghosts.  (Unfortunately it's no longer available for purchase.)

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends October 9th

Die Cuttin Divas - Anything Goes - Ends October 5th

DL Art - October Linky Challenge - Ends October 31st

Ain't no thing

I have a quick and easy project to share with you today.  I have this stamp set that I purchased months ago from Peachy Keen Stamps called Sunny Side Up.  It has these cute "chicken" related sentiments but I just never found the right cuts to pair the sentiments with.

Until this Cutie KaToodle Rooster from Kadoodle Bug Designs.  I recently used this same rooster on a recipe page so when I cut him out I cut two so I could use him on a card.  It doesn't show up that well in my picture but I used glossy accents on the black part of his eyes to help give them that bit of shine.

But there you have it.  My quick and easy encouragement card.....

Ho Ho Ho

Santa's coming, in 49 days, and today I wanted to share a card I made using yet another great file over at Too Cute by Jessica.  This one is titled At the North Pole.  Admittedly I took some artistic license with this one and omitted some of the trimmings that were included.  While I love the overall of the original I felt it was too busy to go with the background paper I was using.  Instead I wanted to focus more on snowflakes and that's what I did.

To create my card I used a couple of scrap papers that I had in my stash.  The one for the green door I know is from DCWV but I can't remember the other.  To add a bit of dimension I used a small red and white polka dotted brad - also from my stash.

The snowy roof tops and ground were ran through my Xyron and then I applied some of Martha Stewart's cararra marble and snow glitters.  This gave the card some texture while also adding just a small amount of bling.  The snowflakes you see on Santa's house are also from my stash.  I found these a couple of years ago at one of the local scrapbooking stores.

For Santa's face I broke out my Peachy Keen Stamps and stamped it using the Everyday Character Faces.  And for Santa's bag I used some brown memory thread in place of the rope.  Then I stamped my sentiment on his bag using the recently released stamp set from My Craft Spot titled Naughty or Nice?

And now I'm off to enter this into the following challenges:

Metal - My Craft Spot - Ends November 8th (used a brad on the door)

Bingo Challenge - Holly Jolly Christmas - Ends November 9th (I used die cuts, 2 patterned papers and glitter {glitter paint})

Christmas - Crafty Hazelnut - Ends November 30th

Sparkle or Shine - Moving Along with the Times - Ends November 12th

Gobble Gobble

Welcome to another Skittles Challenge.  For this challenge we are working with polka dots or circles.  As you can see though I chose to play with both.

I found this wonderful Thanksgiving file called Thankful Wishes over at Treasure Box Designs and immediately fell in love with it.  That turkey upside down in the pot pie caught my eye and that was all it took.  Combine that with this wonderful Lil Tweets Thanksgiving stamp set from Peach Keen Stamps and you're half way there.

To finish off my card I used some scraps from a couple of different Fall Themed mat stacks I have.  Both stacks are from DCWV and came out last year.  Then I used a small scrap from my stash and punched out the two circles where I placed my caramel skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

And now that you've seen my take on the bi-weekly challenge be sure to check out the other designs our team have put together just for you.  Then create your own, link up and play along for your chance to win a fun prize.  The challenge ends November 11th so you still have plenty of time to come play along.

Now I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Photo Inspiration/Thankful - Peachy Keen Stamps - Ends November 13th

Anything Goes - DL Art - Ends November 30th

Fall Colors - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends November 8th

Eat, Drink and Be Scary

Today begins another fun challenge over at PDE Linky Party and this week the challenge is Halloween Decorations.  That means the sky is the limit so long as you're decorating for Halloween.....

For my Halloween decoration I made a treat box that was inspired by this one I found on Pintrest.  It was made using two different files from My Scrap Chick (pumpkin box and Halloween treat bag toppers).  As you can see I embossed his hair, brows and mustache to add a bit of texture.

I then used several of the stamps from Peachy Keen set PKSC-32 which was part of the August release this year.

Now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check all of the other wonderful designs our team has created for you.  Then create your own decorations, link up and play along with us.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Remember, the challenge ends Monday, October 27th.

And now I am off to enter this in to the following challenge:

I Want Candy

Welcome to another PDE Linky Party Challenge.  This week begins a new challenge and a new format.  Beginning with this week's challenge we are now on a weekly rotation.  That means you have one week to play along with this week's challenge - Shaped Cards.

For my card I used:
  • Wild Cards cartridge for the card base
  • Life's a Party for the tombstone and then punched with a MS cracked edge punch
  • Zombie Squaredy Cat from SVG Cutting files
The stamped sentiment is from Peachy Keen Stamps.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other designs our wonderful team has put together for you.  Then create your own shaped card, link up and play along with us.  Remember - you have until Monday, October 6th to link up and play along.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Thirsty?

After being inspired by this project at Scrappin with my Bug I knew I had to scraplift and try some myself to use as 'gifts' this Halloween season.  My first I gave yesterday to a co-worker who hosts a blood drive at our office every 4 to 6 months.

I wanted it all to be a surprise so rather than handing the gift to her I placed it in her mail cubicle to find at some point during the day. (We also have a secret pal gift exchange going on at work so I kinda played on that too - even though she's not my secret pal)  She told me that when she first looked at it she wondered what in the world because it looked so real.  But once she realized what it was and read the card she loved it.

Now Michelle over at Scrapping with my Bug used a new set of dies that were recently released by Jaded Blossom.  Since I don't own those I used other things that I do have......like my MS drippy goo punch and my Happy Hauntings cartridge from Cricut for the potion bottle.  I ungrouped the cuts and used the bottom and top layers hiding the necessary contours for the look I wanted.  I then used my stamp from the Jaded Blossom Spooky Labels stamp set.

My card was made using the vampire squaredy cat from SVG Cutting Files.  They have a whole line of these guys and take about easy to put together.  For the stamped sentiment on my card I used the PKSC-32 August 2014 Halloween set.

And finally the gift box.  Believe it or not this was an SVG cut file as well.  This one I found over at Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbon.  It's the gift box with window file.  I cut it out of chipboard and then came back and cut it out of cardstock so I could cover up the chipboard.  For the window I used one of the old mat covers from a used cricut cutting mat.

Put it all together and you have one unique gift.

Boolicious Treat Purse

It was a lazy day here in our house today as I am recuperating from a cold quickly turned to infection.  My wonderful husband let me chill out and play in my craft room all day.  Yep, no chores - no nothing unless I wanted to.  Not even cooking......

I have to admit though that for a while I sat at my computer in a fog.  I kept trying to decide what I was in the mood to create and I'd start something then quickly trash it when I didn't like the way it looked.  After a couple hours of that I finally got in to a groove and was able to complete a couple of projects.....this being one of them.

For this treat holder I used the purse invitation from Girls Makeup Party.

On the inside that cute little ghost is from a cut file I got over at Too Cute By Jessica.  The pumpkin on the candy is from Designer's Calendar and the bat is from Happy Hauntings.

The stamped sentiments are from Peachy Keen Stamps (outside) and Jaded Blossom (inside).

And now with that I am going to enter this in to the purse challenge over at Bitten by the Bug 2.  Nothing like a last minute entry huh?

Got Brains?

Today I have a fun Halloween card I'd like to share with you.  I'm a huge Walking Dead fan so it only made since to create a fun card featuring this cute zombie from SVG Cutting Files.  The tombstones are from the Cricut cartridge Life's a Party.  I wanted to be able to stamp on them so I hide all the extra layers and contours.

The design of my card is based on the current sketch challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps.  You can either follow the sketch or create a project based on the color palette posted at PKS or a combination of the two.  I chose to use just the sketch.

Other elements I used/added to this card include using the Martha Stewart drippy goo punch along the bottom edge of the border.  And I also placed my zombie on an action wobble.

The stamped sentiments (inside and out) are all from Peachy Keen Stamps.  I used two different sets:  Halloween Sentiments & Labels and Trio of Girl Ghosts.

I am entering this fun card in the following challenges:

Stop Scaring Me

I have a fun card I wanted to share with you this afternoon.  This cute little scarecrow is a new file over at SVG Cutting Files and I thought he was perfect for spotlighting on a Fall color themed project that I'll use in the current SVG Cutting Files challenge.

I cut him out at just under 3 inches and centered him on a circle that I cut from George and Basic Shapes..  I then used a sketch from a challenge that's going on over at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge to create my card.

I chose blue and green as the color for my strips because this is one of my favorite color combinations and it's also the focus of yet another challenge that I'm playing along with over at Die Cuttin Divas
.

This is the inside of my card:

What do you think?  I thought it was cute and my husband actually chuckled so I must have been on the right path.

The stamped sentiments are from the Peachy Keen stamp set titled Trio of Girl Ghosts.
