Hello Birthday Girl

I have several birthdays coming up in my family over the next week - my twin sisters and my dad.  So today I'd like to share with you a birthday card that I've created.

For this card I used the Birthday Wishes file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon.  If you haven't checked out the cut files being offered here you're really missing out.  I've used a few of them and they've all been great and easy to piece together.  This one included.
The stamped sentiment I chose for this card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Hello Hello.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Designer Paper x3 - Hiding in My Craft Room - Ends September 24th

PPR Linky Party - Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons - Ends October 1st

September Linky Party - DL Art - Ends September 30th

Birthdays - Die Cuttin Divas - Ends September 25th

Favorite Wizard Treats

Jaded Blossom is in the midst of their customer challenge and with all that we've had going on I wasn't sure I'd be able to get a project done in time to play along.  But I had a little down time this weekend so I was able to create a project for the challenge.

Since I just purchased the My Favorite Wizard stamp set to go along with the Wizard Candies set that I already had I figured it'd be the perfect time to sit down and play with them.  For my card I used the Wizard Academy file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons.  I've had this file in my stash for a while but had not used it before this challenge.  To embellish the card I used a couple of black skittles from Doubleclick Connections.

My treat jar was made using a jar that I purchased from Hobby Lobby and sprayed with a frosted glass spray paint. I then added a vinyl Cornish pixie to the inside of the jar.  The pixie is a file that was shared in one of my groups.  (I do not have permission to share.) The tag is from one of my Silhouette files that I tweaked to work for what I wanted.

And finally, when the recipient is finished eating all the candy, the pixie jar can be used as a nightlight.

Now I'm off to enter my project into the Jaded Blossom July Customer Challenge, which by the way, ends July 17th.

I'm also going to enter this into the Anything Goes challenge over at Cut it Up which ends on July 22nd.

Brighter Days

Today I have an encouragement card to share with you.  This one uses files from:

I wanted a different style card for this little cutie so that he really popped, and I think this center step card was perfect.  I also decided to do something a little different with his nose.  I wanted it to have that kind of wet, shiny look so I applied some black enamel accents and then after it dried I used the gel pen to add the white.  Of course this shows up much better in real life than it does in the photograph.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Encouragement stamp set from Jaded Blossom.
