You Make Me...

I thought we'd visit with another princes.  This time we're going to Arendelle.  Okay, not really but today's card does feature the princess Elsa from Frozen.  She is part of the design file titled Ice Princess from Marjorie Ann Designs.

As I started going through my scrap papers trying to find the right ones for this file I was excited to find that I had the perfect pieces.  A little ice blue glitter paper for the gown and some velum for the sheer train.  Perfect!  Although the card does look better in real life.

For my background papers I of course had to use some of the snowflake prints from my Winter Solstice by DCWV.

Then on the inside of my card...

...I decided to carry over and stamp some more snowflakes.

The outside sentiment as well as the one on the inside are from the Happy Hello stamp set by Jaded Blossom.  The snowflakes are from the Winter Wonderland stamp set by My Craft Spot.  She is no longer selling stamps but if you were lucky enough to snag this one, or if  you're just curious, you can view the stamp set and gallery of cards made using this set on her blog here.

Java Jingle

Didn't I say no more Christmas cards?  I mean, I guess this one could be a "winter" card.  After all who doesn't love a good cup of coffee - especially when it's cold outside.  This particular card would be perfect card slip a gift card in for Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts or whatever local coffee shop is in your area.

The card is from the SVG Cuts file titled Christmas Cheer.  There are several shaped Christmas cards in this file and while I've made one or two, I can't wait to make some of the others.

To create this card I decided to run the coffee sleeve shape through my paper crimper to give a bit of texture and 'realism' to the card.  I also used a soft, silver glitter paper for the snowflake to help it stand out a bit more.  I also cut an extra peppermint swirl to use on the inside of the card along with the sentiment.

Speaking of sentiments, this one is from the stamp set Winter Wonderland by My Craft Spot.  I just hate that they are no longer doing business.  But we still have a lot of other great stamp companies out there so that's a plus.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the Cut it Up Holiday Shape Cards Challenge (which ends at noon today - talk about last minute 😉 )

I hope that you've enjoyed today's card as much as I enjoyed piecing it together.  But seriously this is the last Christmas card - until next July....

Santa's Tie

I have a fun card I'd like to share with you today.  When I saw this design - Santa Claus Tie - over at Apex Cuttable Designs I knew it would be perfect for a card and I was right.

I decided to cut my tie using a sheet from the DCWV Holiday Glitzy Glitter mat stack.  The white piece of the tie I ran through my embossing machine to add even more texture.  I had thought about adding glitter or flocking to the white but then thought that might detract from the red glitter of the tie and stuck to the embossing as an accent.  After piecing the tie together I added it to a pre-embossed card blank, also from DCWV.

The stamped sentiment is from the Naughty or Nice stamp set by My Craft Spot.  Sadly, they are no longer doing business.

And now this card is on its way to my I Run 4 Buddy.  I know he's going to love it.

Snowman Portrait

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I have a Christmas card that I'd like to share with you.

This one features the Polaroid Pal Card Snowman from Treasure Box Designs.  Unfortunately it looks like this particular file has been retired as I could not find it when I tried to link back to it for you.  I purchased this file last year along with another one and now I'm thinking I'm glad that I did.....even though I haven't used it until now.

The stamped sentiment on the outside of my card is from the Winter Wonderland stamp set from My Craft Spot.  Sorry, they are no longer around either.  I also used another sentiment from this set on the inside of my card along with some of the snowflake stamps.

Snow Owl

It's another wet and dreary day here in the Panhandle of FL, complete with flash flood and tornado watches/warnings.  With all the water everything has become a slick mess and just yesterday I took a small fall down the steps of our front porch and bruised up my lower back area pretty good.  Fortunately it's nothing time and an alignment won't cure.  So while I sit in the house listening to the rain and sipping my coffee I do what I do best in these situations - I craft.

I've got a couple of plastic canvas projects almost complete and ready to share.  I also did a bit of crocheting (working on minion hats for my son's friend), and of course I did some papercrafting.

Today I share with you one of the greeting cards I made.  This little cutie is from the Happy Owlidays set by Marjorie Ann Designs.  There are five different owls in this set and so far I've pieced together three of them.  They're quick and easy to piece together and everyone turn out of so stinkin' cute.

My card is one of those pre-printed card bases from DCWV, and the sentiment is from the Winter Wonderland stamp set by My Craft Spot.

Christmas Joy

I have another Christmas card to share with you today.  For today's card I used one of the cute mice from the Night Before Christmas set from Marjorie Ann Designs.

Growing up our family's tradition was that daddy would read the passage in the Bible about the birth of Christ before any other activities would begin on Christmas day.  So when I saw this cute mouse sitting in his arm chair with a book in his hand it reminded me of those days.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the stamp set Merry & Bright by My Craft Spot.  Unfortunately they are no longer doing business.

But now I'm off to enter this into the following challenge:

DL Art - September Linky Party - Ends September 30th

Special Delivery

This weekend I took a brief break from crafting to start getting all the things I've made lately in order.  You see Oktoberfest is a mere 26 days away and there's a lot to tag and bag.  On my blog here I mainly share my papercrafts with you but I also loom knit, sew and have even started learning how to crochet.  So as I started getting ready I realized that I basically have no Christmas cards.  Talk about a mild panic setting in.

After I got to a stop point with the tagging and bagging I quickly got to work creating Christmas cards.  One of the first ones I made is a favorite from last year using the Reindeer Card from the Mistletoe Manor file from SVG Cuts.  I love the ease of putting this card together and the end result is just gorgeous.

For the stamped sentiment on this card I used the Naughty or Nice stamp set from My Craft Spot.  (Sadly they are no longer in business.)

Santa's Chair Gift Card Holder

We're half way there.  It's the middle of the week and after today it's all a downhill slide to the weekend!  And since it's the middle of the week I thought I'd share a project that is not a card today.  Instead I have a gift card holder to share.

I made this chair using the Silhouette Design ID #89412 - also known as Santa 3d Arm Chair Box.  Even though I'm used to putting together some intricate pieces like those from SVG Cuts this one was a doosie.  But now that I've done one any others should be easier.  And I think that my paper choice wasn't the most compatible with my glue because it took forever for my glue to dry enough to where the pieces would stay together.  So there are a couple of oops on my first attempt.

The tag on the back of the chair actually has a design that can be cut out and adhered to the tag.  As you can see though I opted not to use the design because I wanted to stamp a sentiment on the tag instead.  The sentiment I chose is from the discontinued stamp set Naughty or Nice? by My Craft Spot.  (I was really sad when she had to close up shop last year as she had some great stamp sets.)

And now I'm off to enter my chair into the following challenges:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Use Die Cuts - Ends August 22nd

DL Art - August Linky Challenge - Ends August 31st

Die Cuttin' Divas - Celebrate It - Ends August 24th

Hippity, Hoppity

Today I have an Easter card that I'd like to share with you.  I created this one using one of the designs from the Silhouette store.  This one is Design ID #57047 by Sarah Bailey.

My stamped sentiment is from the Happy Easter stamp set by My Craft Spot.

And now I'm off to enter this in to the following challenge:

Any Holiday - Hiding in My Craft Room - ends April 4th

You're Eggs-tra Special

Happy Tuesday everyone.  Today I have another Easter card that I'd like to share with you.  This one I  designed by following the sketch that you'll see at the end of my post.  It's one I've had in my arsenal for a while but have not used until now.  I guess I was waiting for the 'perfect' card.

For today's card I used the file My First Easter Egg Hunt from Marjorie Ann Designs.

The sentiment is from the stamp set Happy Easter from My Craft Spot (which has recently closed for business.)

The skittles I used are from DoubleClick Connections. Sadly it looks like I picked my colors to coordinate with the papers too well because you can't see where the one begins and the other ends in the picture.  I used a shell pink, meadow, and purple twilight.

And this is the sketch I followed for this adorable card.

Brr - It's Cold Out There

Happy Wednesday everyone and welcome to another DoubleClick Skittles Challenge.  This week we're going to the birds.  That's right create a card or project using any kind of bird.

For my card I used the Cricut cartridge Graphically Speaking for the tree and Baby Steps for my bird in the nest.  I found this great paper with the foiled flourishes and thought it would create the perfect background for a cold, blistery look.

Once I got the card laid out I added some snow effects to the tree branches using my DecoArt Snow Writer.  My stamped sentiments are from the Winter Wonderland stamp set by My Craft Spot.

The skittles at the bottom of my card are the colors Stream and Frosty Kisses.  Be sure you check out all of the exciting colors available here.  I don't know about you but I am addicted to these little gems!

Now that you've see my take on this week's challenge be sure to create your own, link up and play along with us.  Happy crafting.

Easter Bonnet

So I bought this new stamp set titled Happy Easter from My Craft Spot during her store closing and as soon as it arrived I just had to play with it.  Luckily I found this great bunny all dressed up for Easter and I knew she was just perfect to go with this sentiment.

Where did I find this adorable bunny you ask?  Why from Too Cute by Jessica of course.  It's one of the several great cuts you'll find in her Easter Bunnies and Chicks file.  And if you hurry you just might find that she's still running her 90% off sale.

In addition to the great svg file I also used a smidge of my Cricut.  Yep, the grass was cut using the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge.

And there you have it.  My first Easter card for the year.

Silly Snowmen

Today I have a whimsical card to share with you.  As much as I hate cold weather and absolutely can NOT wait for the warm weather to get here I couldn't resist this adorable cut file from Too Cute by Jessica.  Now, I'm not sure which is cuter - the silly snowmen themselves or this funny sentiment I found in the My Craft Spot stamp set titled Winter Wonderland.  Either way they worked beautifully together to create a fun card.

In addition to using the great Silly Snowmen svg file from Too Cute by Jessica I also used my Cricut cartridge Wild Card for my snowman's banner.  I also decided to trade out the buttons in the cut file for some skittles I found at Michael's.

And now I'm off to go enter this into the following challenges:

Winter Fun challenge - Fantabulous Cricut Challenges - Ends January 18th

Picture challenge - Die Cuttin Divas - Ends January 18th
(I'd have to say the snowflakes in this pic makes me think of cold, snow and of course snowmen)

Bah Humbug Holidays

I absolutely love Christmas but I just could not resist these funny sentiments and perfect files to go with them.  So since today begins the mid Holiday challenge over at Double Click Skittles I thought I'd have some fun with these guys.

Both of my cutting files are from blogs hops sponsored by SVG Cutting Files.  That means the files are only available during the blog hops.

The stamped sentiments on my wine tag and card are both from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Bah Humbug.  The inside of my card also has a sentiment......

... it's from the Naughty or Nice? stamp set by My Craft Spot.  The list cut is from one of the Christmas Cricut cartridges but I don't remember which one.

Now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other designs our team created for you and then create your own holiday project, link up and play along with us.  And remember, you can always buy your skittles here.

And now I'm off to enter this into the  following challenges:

Merry Christmas to You

If you are looking for my Let's Talk Turkey project you'll find it right below this one.

Welcome to a new challenge over at PDE Linky Party.  This week our challenge is banners.  Either a create a banner or use a banner on your project.  Bet you can tell which option I chose.  LOL

I fell in love with this reindeer card as soon as I saw it being released over at SVG Cuts.  The reindeer just sucked me in and then I thought ooooooh, banners!!  And so my card was born.

I used a page from my Warm Wishes mat stack by Recollections that I picked up a couple years ago.  I thought that the brown type paper was the perfect back drop for this card.  I then chose some various scraps from my bin to use for the banners.

After piecing everything together I decided to use some skittles to accent the banners and one for the reindeer's nose.  The blue ones are some I picked up at Michaels but the Rudolph red one is from the Black Friday 2013 release over at DoubleClick Connections.  Finishing off the card is my stamped sentiment, which is from the Naughty or Nice stamp set recently released by My Craft Spot.

And now that you have seen my take on this week's challenge I would love for you to check out the other wonderful designs our team has created for you this week.  Then, after you've been amply inspired I hope that you will create your own banner project, link up and share it with us.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Anything Goes - DL Art - Ends November 30th

Christmas - Crafty Hazelnut - Ends November 30th

Sparkle or Shine - Moving Along with the Times - Ends November 12th  (the reindeer reins and the white with glittery silver banner are my sparkle/shine)

Ho Ho Ho

Santa's coming, in 49 days, and today I wanted to share a card I made using yet another great file over at Too Cute by Jessica.  This one is titled At the North Pole.  Admittedly I took some artistic license with this one and omitted some of the trimmings that were included.  While I love the overall of the original I felt it was too busy to go with the background paper I was using.  Instead I wanted to focus more on snowflakes and that's what I did.

To create my card I used a couple of scrap papers that I had in my stash.  The one for the green door I know is from DCWV but I can't remember the other.  To add a bit of dimension I used a small red and white polka dotted brad - also from my stash.

The snowy roof tops and ground were ran through my Xyron and then I applied some of Martha Stewart's cararra marble and snow glitters.  This gave the card some texture while also adding just a small amount of bling.  The snowflakes you see on Santa's house are also from my stash.  I found these a couple of years ago at one of the local scrapbooking stores.

For Santa's face I broke out my Peachy Keen Stamps and stamped it using the Everyday Character Faces.  And for Santa's bag I used some brown memory thread in place of the rope.  Then I stamped my sentiment on his bag using the recently released stamp set from My Craft Spot titled Naughty or Nice?

And now I'm off to enter this into the following challenges:

Metal - My Craft Spot - Ends November 8th (used a brad on the door)

Bingo Challenge - Holly Jolly Christmas - Ends November 9th (I used die cuts, 2 patterned papers and glitter {glitter paint})

Christmas - Crafty Hazelnut - Ends November 30th

Sparkle or Shine - Moving Along with the Times - Ends November 12th

Naughty or Nice

I came across a challenge over at Moving Along with the Times yesterday and the theme is winter is coming.  You either make a winter theme project or throw in an alternative twist with Game of Thrones.  As soon as I saw that I thought about the great mini hop that SVG Cutting Files had earlier this year and decided to give it a whirl.

Of course I had to use my Jon Snow cuts because what Game of Thrones fan can resist his charm?  Then you also have to have his trusty companion Wolf.  And so my card was created.

For Jon's garments I used a variety of metallic type papers.  The bottom layer of his garments were cut from black aluminum, then the 'armor' plate and cloak were cut from a black metallic paper and the shoulder pieces of his cloak were cut from a different type of a dark gray metallic paper.  All of these provided a great balance of differing shades and textures to the cut.

My snow covered ground was created using Martha Stewart crystal coarse and carrara marble glitters.

Finally, the sentiment.  As I looked through my many stamps I was trying to decide what sentiment to use.  None really stood out to me until I saw this one from My Craft Spot.  As I have watched Game of Thrones throughout the years you sometimes wonder if Jon is being Naughty or Nice.  Of course his naughty days (like the season he traveled with Mance and his gang) always end up being for the greater good.

But there you have it.  My first official Game of Thrones card.  Now I'm off to enter this into the following challenges:

Winter Theme/Game of Thrones alternative - Moving Along with the Times - Ends November 5th

Metal - My Craft Spot - Ends November 8th

Marley & Me (use an animal) - Red Carpet Studios - Ends November 15th

Anything Goes - DL Art - Ends November 30th
