Birthday Flower

Today's card is a variation of one I made quite some time ago.  However, I changed the way that I put it all together and I like the way that this one turned out better.  The only cut for this card is the flower from the Garden of Words cart.

I started by printing the words happy birthday across a square that I cut from a sheet of paper.  This piece was then centered on my cutting mat related to where I had the top cut placed in Design Studio.  I then cut the flower in three different sizes (sorry don't remember what they were), layered them one on top of the other and then added a flower button to the middle.  Oh, also gently lifted the flower petals up to give them more of a dimensional look/feel.

Yet another simple card with a great look.

Happy Birthday Flower

Another simple card that I thought turned out well....

To create the flower I inserted a 3.5" x 3.5" text box into a MS Word document and typed "happy birthday" throughout the box. I then chose a paper that I wanted to cut my flower from and printed. I then cut out the text box and placed it on my cutting mat per placement in DS and cut the flower using Word Builders: Garden of Words. It is the blackout shape cut at 3"

The inside sentiment for this card says, "God made you special - now that's reason enough to celebrate"

Early Bird Card

"The early bird can have the worm...I'll see you around noon with a latte"

I love this phrase and if I remember correctly I got it off the post where we were all sharing card sentiments. on the Cricut Message Boards for cards. I've been trying to figure out how I wanted to interpret the phrase and this is what I came up with this morning.

For this card I used:
the Bird from Word Builders Garden of Words cut at 3"
the worm from Sesame Street cut at 1.25"
the tuft of grass from Zooballoo
the latte from Graphically Speaking cut at 3"
and "it does a body good" from Graphically Speaking

Brr.....

I was inspired to make this card back in October when I saw a similar one published in one of the card magazines I had purchased. I never made it though because I didn't have a tree that I liked well enough to use.

But last month dh bought me the Graphically Speaking cartridge for my birthday and voila! I had the perfect tree. I only wish that the camera would take a picture that did the card justice - it really looks better in real life.

The tree is cut at 4"

The "BRR.." tag is cut at 1" from a glittered paper

The bird is from Word Builders: A Garden of Words and is cut at 3/4"
