Halloween, Snoopy Style

I have not really gotten into much of the Halloween spirit quite yet.  Not that I've ever been that big a fan.  It's more my husband's holiday than mine, but over the years I've started crafting more for it.  But like I said, the mood just hasn't really hit me yet.

Although I have made my first Halloween card.   This one features that adorable cool cat, Snoopy.  He's part of the Spooky Village set by Marjorie Ann Designs.

My stamped sentiment is from the Cardz Tv Stamps set titled Frankly Frightful.

Happy Camper

Ladybugs and picnics, not necessarily the insect I expect to find at a picnic but when I look at this cutie all ready to pig out I'd much rather it be her.  😀  I found this adorable ladybug over at Marjorie Ann Designs and immediately knew she'd be a cute one to use for a card.  She's from the file Ladybug Picnic.

After I cut and pieced the ladybug together I was searching through my files and papers, trying to decide how I was going to lay out my card.  During the search through my paper stash I came across two different papers that I really wanted to use.  One was all ladybugs and the other was different insects but I thought they worked well together.

Problem was that I'd already cut the papers to splice together with others and the two remaining pieces wouldn't fit together.  As I played around trying to figure out the hopeless puzzle I had another piece of the insect paper cut the same way that I turned around and that's when the light went off.  I would use all three papers and cross them over each other to create the look you now see on my card.

On the front of my card I stamped a row of ants walking across the bottom of the card.   They are from the Lawn Fawn stamp set titled Happy Summer.

The stamped sentiment at the top of my card is from the Cardz TV stamp set titled Summer Fun.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

Cut it Up - Picnic - Ends June 28th

You Melt My Heart

It's only June but the temps are screaming hot and muggy here in Florida.  So why not create a fun greeting to cool things down a bit?

I made this cutie of a card using the Ice Princess file from Marjorie Ann Designs.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Winter Cheer.

Now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenges:

Cardz TV - Mailbox Smiles Anything Goes - Ends June 15th

Jo's Scrap Shack - Anything Goes - Ends June 9th

Fishing Father's Day

I hope that all of you had a fabulous weekend like I did.  Saturday morning I ran my last mud run for a while (doctor recommended), but I was blessed to finish like I started - running with one of my children.  Sunday started as a very wet and rainy day with thunderstorms so I spent most of the day crafting and catching up on housework......when I wasn't painting in my new craft room.  Now I know what you're thinking, why would I paint when it's raining because it'll take longer to dry.  Well, my painting was really more of a sponging.  You see I'm changing the accent wall in the room into a faux brick wall.  After 2 1/2 hours layer one is complete.

So while I was working on that I was painting another floating book shelf for my room which I'll share later along with some other goodies.  Today though I have a Father's Day card to share with you.

This is a card that I made for my dad who loves to fish.  I made this one using the Fishing With Dad file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  I had some fun with this file last year too when I made a shaker card that you can find here.  If you have a fisherman in your life this is a must have file.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled You're the Man.

And now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Masculine - Ends May 27th

Teddy Bears Rule

Today I'm sharing a fun teddy bear pirate card using the You Are My Treasure file from Marjorie Ann Designs.

I changed up the octopus from the way that it was laid out in the file.  Instead of cutting his body in two parts I welded them together.  I also decided that I didn't want to cut out all those highlight pieces for his different colored spots so I chose to emboss him instead.

For the background of my card, I had the perfect paper in my stash.  It's from the mat stack titled Little Man by Paper House Productions.

The stamped sentiment used on this card is from Cardz TV Stamps and is titled Beary Sweet.

Hello Gorgeous

Happy Monday everyone.  I'm not sure that I'm ready for Monday, but it's here nonetheless.  And today I'm excited to share this card with you.  I made it using one of the mermaids from the Sea Princess file by Marjorie Ann Designs.

It's been a bit since I've made a "scene" card rather than followed a sketch and I guess that's why I'm excited for this one.  Well that and all the fun elements/textures I've added.

For the mermaids hair I embossed the pieces with a design that would add a flourish as if it were waves.  The sand on the bottom of the ocean floor, as well as the rocks, were created using sandpaper.  Finally, instead of cutting bubbles, I decided to add stream colored skittles from DoubleClick Connections in their place.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Favorite Phrases.  This was fun too.  Rather than stamping it in a straight line I wanted to do something different and stamp it around the curve of the mermaid's tailfin.  So I gently set the stamp on my block so that it would stamp that way.  Took a couple of changes to the curve to get it right but it was worth it.

I Ruff You

Today I have a fun card to share with you that features a cute little alien fighter pug.  He's from the Alien Fighters file created by Marjorie Ann Designs.  Years ago I rescued a Pug and a Puggle (and last year added a Terrier mix to the family) so when I saw this file I fell in love.

After piecing my little Pug together I had to find the perfect background paper.  I had two different outer space prints and couldn't decide which one to use so I thought I'd layer them and what you see is my final result.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Lucky Dog.

The skittles used are the meadow color from DoubleClick Connections.

Love CAM

Following on the heels of the Santa CAM craze this past Christmas I came across this Love CAM file in the Silhouette store (design #175948).  Sarah Hurley is the artist and I have to say I absolutely love her files this one included.

After purchasing this file I decided to figure out a way to incorporate it into this week's February Sketch Challenge over at Die Cuttin Divas.  It's a fun and simple sketch with a lot of great potential.  Needless to say it's one I've put into my sketch arsenal.

My stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Love Ya.

And since the sketch had three little hearts in the top right corner, I decided to add some blue and pink skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

Thanks for stopping by, and now I'm off to enter my card in the following challenge:

February Sketch - Die Cuttin' Divas - Ends Sunday, February 12th

Daily Grind

I don't know about you, but there are just days where I do not want to "adult".  Hmmm, as I type that I think about how I need a stamp that says something like that.   Then I remember that I have a Silhouette Mint and can make one.  Sounds like another project coming up.

In the meantime though....As I sit here this morning with my cup of coffee beside me I realize how tired I am from the week's events and all I want to do go back to bed.  Then I think, thank goodness for that cup of coffee beside me.  Now I'm not as big a coffee fan as some of my kids but I still love a good cup.  So when I see a fun cut file or stamp set related to coffee I must have it.

Today's card combines a fun cut file called Mornings are Brewtal from Treasure Box Designs and a sentiment from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Brew HaHa.

Since this is a coffee drinking themed card I thought it would be fun to turn it into a gift card holder of sorts.  Remember how I said I love a good cup of coffee?  Well sometimes when I go to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts I'll hold on to the coffee sleeves.  After all there has to be something that they can be recycled into.

Here I've recycled one from Starbucks into my gift card holder, and used the title from the cut file to cover the verbiage on the sleeve.

And with that I am off to enter my card into the Hot Drink Challenge over at Cut it Up.  Challenge ends February 8th.

Checking the List

Happy Friday everyone.  There are two crafting days left before Christmas (if you count today) and I am almost ready.  How about you?  Are you ready?

Last Friday I told you I was sharing my last Christmas card of the season but I was wrong.  I squeaked out one more Christmas card for today's Cardz TV Anything Goes Challenge #7.   For my card today I used the Just Elfing Around file from Marjorie Ann Designs.

Instead of using all the traditional red, green and white colors for her outfit I decided to do something a bit different and I used shades of grey.  I thought the grey and white snowflake print along with the light green for the hat went well together and gave her a beautiful touch.

For the bells on the toes of her shoes I opted for green gems and then finished off the card with a Grinch Green colored skittle from DoubleClick Connections.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Merry Everything stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

And now that you have seen my take on this week's challenge, be sure to create your own project, link up and play along with us.  Remember Anything Goes!

Just Chillin'

It's Friday!  And now only eight days until Christmas.  YIKES!!

Today I want to share with you what will most likely be my last Christmas card for the season.  (And we all know what season comes next.  That's right......Valentine's. 😍 )

For today's card I used the Holiday Penguins from Marjorie Ann Designs.  These little guys are always so cute and they're easy to piece together.  For this little guy I opted for a pre-embossed paper for the hat and stocking.  Then for the stocking I chose a glitter paper to a bit more texture.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Just Chillin' stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps.

Christmas Owl

Today begins challenge #6 for the Cardz TV Anything Goes Design Team.  That means you can make anything and play along with us.  The challenge goes for two weeks, closing at noon on December 22nd.  Up for grabs is a set of Cardz TV Stamps and a set of Cardz TV Die Cuts.

For my project I made this cute Christmas owl card.  I had a couple of these foiled snowflake card blanks left in my stash and thought it'd be fun to combine this owl with the blank.  The owl is from the Happy Owlidays file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  This particular owl was supposed to be holding a candy cane but I didn't like the way mine looked so I swapped it out with this fun gift bag "sticker" in my stash.

The stamped sentiment is from the Merry Everything stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.  And now that you've seen my project for this challenge be sure to check out the other amazing designs our team has created for you.  Then create your own project, link up and play along with us.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Ginger Cookies

Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share with you.  This one features one of the adorable gingers you'll find in the Baking Fun Gingers set from Marjorie Ann Designs.  These little guys are always so much fun to piece together and those cute little faces are sure to bring a smile to everyone.
I know it doesn't show up very well in the picture, but I decided to keep this card plain and simple by using a pre-embossed card blank.  Sometimes cards are just better that way and it keeps the design from getting lost with all the background fanfare.
The stamped sentiment is from the Gingerbread Christmas stamp set by Cardz TV Stamps.
And now I'm off to enter this card into the following challenge:
Hiding in my Craft Room - Any Holiday - Ends December 3rd

Snowbuddy Like You

Hello my fellow crafty bloggers.  Today begins another fun Anything Goes Challenge over at Cardz TV.

You have until Thursday, November 24th to be inspired, create, and link up your anything goes masterpiece.  So c'mon and play along with us.  But first let me tell you about my project for today's challenge.

I used this cute little snowman with his ornament from the Snowy Christmas file by Marjorie Ann Designs.   I do admit that instead of piecing together the intricate pieces to create the reindeer for the ornament I opted for an easier solution and used printed paper.

For my snow covered ground I ripped two pieces of white paper to use as my ground.  I ran these through my Xyron machine and then covered them with two different Martha Stewart glitters - crystal fine and snow.

My sentiment is from the recently released stamp set titled Winter Cheer by Cardz TV Stamps.

Now that you've seen my project be sure to the check out the other wonderful designs our team has created for you.  Then create your own, link up and play along for your chance to win a free stamp set.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Holiday Hello

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Now that it's November you're once again going to be seeing quite a few Christmas projects.  Christmas is my favorite holiday and I absolutely love crafting for it.  Not just Christmas themed projects but projects that are perfect for gift giving and whatnot.

With that in mind I do have a Christmas card to share with you today.  This is another card in the shaped card series from Marjorie Ann Designs and is called Santa Bear.  I absolutely love her shaped cards and this one was no exception.

The sentiment that I used on my card is from the Merry Everything stamp set from Cardz Tv Stamps.

Now I'm off to enter my card into the following challenge:

Hiding in My Craft Room - Freestyle Challenge - Ends November 5th

Hello Friend Treat Bag

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to another Anything Goes Challenge with the Cardz TV design team.

For this week's challenge I created the last of the treat bags I needed for everyone who's playing in our secret pal exchange at work.  In case you missed the other ones that I've created you can find them here, here, and here.

To create this week's treat bag I used a cute little ghost from the Boo file by Marjorie Ann Designs.  I then used one of my Martha Stewart punches to punch out the scalloped circle on which I stamped the sentiment Hello Friend from the recently released Favorite Phrases stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.  The purse form is from Jaded Blossom.

Now that you've seen my Anything Goes project be sure to check out the other wonderful projects our design team created for you this week.  Then after you've been amply inspired, create your own project, link up and play along with us for your chance to win a free stamp set.  You have until November 10th.

I can't wait to see what you create.

Halloween Jack-O-Lantern

Happy Friday everyone!  I don't know about you but I am more than excited about the fact that today is Friday.  It has been a very busy, crazy, exhausting week and I am ready for some down town.  You see in my "other life" I play the role of a Community Association Manager and this week kicked off Annual Meetings with two of my five Associations.

Thank goodness for crafting.  If I didn't have all these crafty hobbies I might go insane.  And - well - now you know a bit about why my blog is named My Spot of Sanity.  LOL

So today begins another fun and exciting Anything Goes challenge at Cardz TV.  And let me tell you, our design team has created some wonderful projects to share with you today.  So after you've finished checking out mine be sure to hop over to Cardz TV and check out all the other projects.

Today I decided to have fun creating a fun Jack-O-Lantern.  Now if you've been following me for a while you may remember that I created some of these a year or so back.  One of them gets displayed at work and this year it's received a lot of compliments from co-workers, homeowners and vendors that have come in to see us.  So I thought I'd create another one just for you.

The pumpkin is from the Haunted Forest kit by SVG Cuts and the stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set Frankly Frightful.

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out all the other designs.  Then create your own, link up and play along with us.  You have two weeks (October 27th) to do so.

Gingerbread Spice

It is with great excitement that I announce that the Cardz TV Stamps design teams are back in action.  The fun started last week with the Sketch Design team and the Gallery team.  This week the Anything Goes team steps out with their first challenge - and as you guessed it's anything goes.

I haven't had a lot of crafting time this past week.  Or at least not with my papercrafting.  With my first show of the season upon me I spent a lot of time just making final preparations to be ready for the show.  So between that, my "real" job and babysitting my three month old granddaughter, I did find a little time to create a couple things.

For today's challenge, I created a Christmas card.  (You can never have too many)  Using the Baking Fun Gingers from Marjorie Ann Designs I did a print 'n cut to create this quick and easy card.  When it comes to the more complex designs I love that this feature is available.

To finish off my card I used the newly released Gingerbread Spice stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

I also used a couple of skittles from DoubleClick Connections.  These are the Stream and Pink Sherbert colors.

Now that you've seen my take on the anything goes challenge be sure to check out the other wonderful designs our team has created for you.  Then create your own project, link up and play along with us.  You have until noon, Thursday October 13th play.

Just Treats Werewolf

I have a fun Halloween card that I'd like to share with you today.  When I saw that Marjorie Ann Designs had released this Happy Howl-O-Ween file I just knew it was one that I had to have.  These little werewolves are just too cute not to be used on some fun Halloween, Over the Hill or similar style project.

And because it has been a while since I used my Cricut machine I decided to dust it off and use the print 'n cut feature for this card.  I've always said that I love how the files from Marjorie Ann Designs includes clipart that can be used for times when you're in need of creating a quick 'n easy project.  This little cutie cut up really well too.

For the sentiment on my card I used the Frankly Frightful stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.

I also decided to embellish my card a bit by using some orange skittles from DoubleClick Connections.

Scaredy Cat

I don't know about you but my holiday weekend was full of crafting.  Guess it helps when you're not feeling well and don't want to do much of anything else.  Well that and at least one and a half days of nothing but rain.  Otherwise we'd be out running around town like no tomorrow.

I've been creating a lot of vinyl projects lately as you all know.  Just doing something different from always creating greeting cards.  But this weekend I made a couple of different cards and today I'm sharing one of the Halloween ones I created.

This one uses the recently released Scaredy Cat Shaped Card from Marjorie Ann Designs.  While I haven't created all of the shaped cards she's released I love every single one that I have created.    It's always fun to step outside of the traditional folded card and play with a new design.  And Marjorie Ann Designs has the best ones I've found.

The sentiment on my card is from the Frankly Frightful stamp set from Cardz TV Stamps.  Given the cat on this particular card this was of course the perfect sentiment.
