Happy Father's Day

Father's Day is just around the corner and the Cardz TV Stamps Design Team has created a variety of projects for this special occassion.

For my card there was no Cricut involved.  It was all paper pieced using this wonderful template I found at Holiday Crafts and Creations.

The sentiment on the shirt pocket is from the You're The Man stamp set.

You can find this set and many more at Cardz TV Stamps.

And now that you've seen my creation for this week's challenge, be sure to check out the other wonderful designs our team created for you.  Then make your own project, link up and play along with us.  I can't wait to see what you make.

You've Got Mail

Happy Weekend everyone!  I don't know about where you are but it's going to a beautiful day here in the Panhandle of Florida.  It's been a sunshiny week and I'm told we're in for a sunny weekend too which is perfect since I have a 5K mudrun to get to later this afternoon.

Until then though I'm participating in another fun filled blog hope along with the Cardz TV Design Team.  Our them for this hop is "You've Got Mail" and we are featuring this fabulous Snail Mail stamp set.

If you started at the beginning of the hop and landed here from Essentially Yours With DeNetra then you're still on target.  If you haven't started at the beginning be sure you do so after you're finished here and I'll give you the full line up momentarily.

But first, for my card I decided to take a plain and simple approach.  I used two cuts - both from Doodlecharms.  I fancied up the mailbox in that I used some pretty printed papers and then set it all up agains a plain coordinating background.  Told ya'.  Plain and simple.

So now that you're through looking at my card and if you've been following along you next and last stop for the day is with Candied Cards.

If you did not start at the beginning here is our full line up.  And don't forget, when you're done, create a project, link up and play along with us.

Spot of Sanity --- you're already here

Saying Good-bye Was Never This Fun

....Not that I'm going to enjoy seeing this person leave.  She's a good friend but had a career opportunity present itself and should couldn't pass it up.  What is fun about it is that I took what will be a sad time for me and some other and tried to put some humor behind it.

Enter Donald Duck.  I absolutely love this cut from the Mickey and Friends cartridge.  It captures one of Donald's temper tantrums perfectly and since that's how I feel I knew this cut was perfect for a going away card.

My inside sentiment is a quote I found somewhere online years ago, and it too is perfect.  It says, beginning on the outside of the card.....

You're Going?  And leaving me alone with these lunatics?

Given our profession of being licensed Community Association Managers it just somehow all seemed fitting.......

Crafting Spaces in 2013

Tara over at the Craftin Desert Diva's is having a craft it up and link it up party where those who wish to are sharing their craft rooms.  I initially shared mine last year, but now a lot has changed.  One of my children moved home for a bit and so I have moved in to a smaller room for the time being.  And it's a room that we had added on to the house but had not yet quite finished with all the needed trim and other finishes.  You know what they say......never live where you remodel because it will never be done......well that's my situation here primarily because we are doing all of the work ourselves.  Enough of that though, let's get on to my new space.

First we'll start with the sewing cabinet that I love and can't wait to be able to use to it's full potential again.  Right now it butts up to my table and does not allow the door to fully open for use so I have to drag my machines to the dining room table when I want to sew.

On the bottom of this cabinet is a great space with a shelf for stashing my fabric.  Thank goodness I don't sew any more than I do because as you can tell I'm full up on top and bottom.  Oh, and the bottom is stacked two rows deep.

Like I had mentioned, my table where I do all my papercrafting is next to the sewing cabinet.  Pretty simple spot right here.  And those funny looking things hanging on the side of my sewing cabinet - those are my knitting looms.  I can't needle knit to save my life but I can make a mean scarf on those looms.  LOL

Over in the corner is where I store my cartridges.  I haven't bought any in a while but that's okay because I've got plenty sitting here to keep me busy.

Here you see my older machine and printer along with a toilet tissue cover I recently finished on one of my knitting looms.  The containers under my table are just a few of those I have floating around that store my wares in as I wait for upcoming craft shows.

And now you can see where I store my papers, yarns and other wares.  I love these cubicles and while they can be pricey I have yet to buy one at "full" price.  I always do the 40 or 50 percent off thing.

These are my serger and embroidery machines.  I got in to making upcycled scarves last year so for my birthday and Christmas these were gifts that my wonderful husband purchased for me.  I've had a lot of fun cutting up sweaters and patching them in to scarves.

And this is my prize.  My youngest son painted this chair for me as  an art project for school.  Isn't it awesome?

Finally, my bookshelf where I store even more of my "junk" as I call it.  And there you have a walk though my recently condensed crafting space.  If you'd like to see what my old one was like you can view it here.

Happy Birthday to You!

I was late getting my entry in for the Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #10 Happy _________.  But I'm not too late getting it in to play along and share with all of you.

That's right the current challenge is to make a card, layout or project using Happy __________ as your theme.  It couldn't get any easier.

For my card I used Rock Princess for both of my cupcakes.  To get a textured and shimmery frosting I applied some Tulip brand dimensional glitter paint and then gently heat embossed until it puffed and laid back down.  I then allowed the pieces to air dry.

My larger cupcake is also on an action wobble to add in just a tad bit more fun.  And that stamped sentiment you see, that's from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Good Times.

And now that you've seen my card be sure to pop in over at Pause Dream Enjoy Challenges and check out the awesome designs the team created this week.  Then create your own, link up and play along like me.

Quick & Easy Birthday Celebration

I had several cards that needed to be made today and while playing around in the Cricut Craft Room I noticed some of the "cut it free" carts that were available.  One of them is called Celebration layout.  However, I chose to use a couple of those cuts to make this quick and easy birthday card.

I cut the hat and ran the top portion through the Cuttlebug to add a bit of texture.  I also used an action wobble to add a bit of fun to the card as well.  The background was also cut using the Celebration layout.

Like I said, quick and easy......Just the way I like it sometimes.  LOL

Live a Little

Before the dreary rain sets in tonight and while it's still warm and beautiful outside I thought I'd share a happy, warm and fuzzy card with everyone.  For most of us Spring has sprung and before we know it Summer will be here.  Well, this card depicts just that......

This is one of the S-Fold style cards and even though I don't make them very often I really enjoy doing so.  For me it's always fun to see what kind of 'scene' I can create in that small area.  To create this one I used:

Stretch Your Imagination for the bike - cut at 1 1/4"

Graphically Speaking for the frame - cut at 3 1/4" (but I reduced the width to make it more square)

Graphically Speaking for the inside sentiment - cut at 2 1/4"

A Child's Year for the dog - cut at 1/2"

Graphically Speaking for the sun and clouds - cut at 1" and 3/4" respectively

And now that I've shared my card with  you I'm going to link it up and play along in Maymay's Spring2Summer linky party.  Come check it out and play along with us.

There's No Other Like My Mother - Mother's Day Challenge

Are you like me screaming thank goodness it's Friday?  This has been quite a week in my neck of the woods and I've been contemplating the need for a mental health day for most of it.

But with today being Friday, it's time for another fun challenge at Cardz TV and just in time to get those creative juices flowing as we all gear up for Mother's Day.  So come on and play along with us.  Let us see what wonderful project, card or layout you create for that special mother in your life.

My card was inspired by one I saw on Pintrest and I wish I had pinned it so I could give the inspiration proper credit but I wasn't that smart apparently.  lol  I used Cricut Essentials for my flower cut.  Ran the cut paper and the flower though my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder to emboss, and then stamped my sentiment on the stamen.  The butterflies were a couple of brads that I found in my stash.  The sentiment is from the Cardz TV stamp set titled Happy Days.

So now that you've seen my card be sure you stop over at Cardz TV to check out the other wonderful designs our team created for you this week.  Then remember to create your own, link up and play along for your chance to win a Cardz TV stamp set.

The challenge starts today and ends in two weeks so get going......
