St. Patrick's Day Pooh Style & Blog Candy

Good evening everyone. Today's theme for Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create a St. Patrick's day card using any cartridge we wanted. Then earlier this week I found a new technique on Splitcoaststampers that I wanted to try called the Folded Paper Frame. So I thought and thought about how I could combine the two together and as I was looking through my carts - Eureka! it hit me.

So here's my card - only you can't tell from the picture that it really has dimension to it. I pop dotted the frame all around as well as Pooh so that it looks like he's really propped up in a window frame.

Where's the blog candy you ask?

Here's the deal. Last year I went through a creative slump and with all the stress from work and cold weather keeping me away from my Cricut I feel like I'm there again. So I need you to help me out.

Happy Thoughts

I've been trying to use my Sizzix dies more lately and I've actually been pretty successful. Especially since it's been cold outside and I don't have heat installed in my craft room yet.

About a week or so ago I set a tv tray up in the living room at one end of the couch and then brought in my bucket of stamps, scrap papers, paper trimmer and Big Kick. And with the Olympics on it's been great just sitting there with my dh enjoying the best of both worlds.

Now that I have several pieces cut and put together I can create several cards and feel like I've accomplished a lot!

Tonight the card I want to share uses cuts from both Sizzix and Cricut. My tree is from the Stretch Your Imagination cart. The other cuts are from Sizzix.

Raining Hearts

This is a card that I created for dh for Valentine's Day and I chose this format as a project challenge for one of my card groups. I actually designed part of this card using my Gypsy and part of it using Design Studio. The reason for that was because I wanted to use the Gypsy font cartridge for the main heart and the only way to do that was to use my Gyspsy itself.

My other cuts are as follows:

Child's Year for the umbrella - cut 3x for the dimension and the handle

Every Day Paper Dolls for the monkey

Home Decor for my "raining" hearts

Tall Baby Congrats

This week's Cricut Cardz DT challenge was to create a "tall" card. Tall being defined as a card that measures 8 3/4" x 3 1/2". Wow! So what to do and just how do you fill up that much narrow space anyway?

The first thing that came to my mind was to do something with blocks. Okay, great. What blocks? ........hmmmm.....How about baby blocks? And away I went.

So for this card I used the New Arrival cartridge. The cuts on the front of the card were doing using Nana's Nursery coordinating papers. My rattle was cut twice so that I could cut out the center and create a "shaker" which was filled with baby confetti.

I realize this is another of my simplistic cards but hey I don't really have much of a craft room to work in right now (long story) so I'm just excited to be able to get any cards created with my Cricut right now.

Angel's Wings

I missed last weeks Cricut Cardz Challenge but now that I've had some time to breathe I wanted to make sure that I caught up. So for my take on the challenge I chose to use one of the card features from the Hello Kitty Cart.

Very simply put I cut this card at 3 1/4" that way it would fit to a 12" piece of paper. On the inside I used the "I love you" cut from Hello Kitty as well.

Easy Peasy.
