Every Day Should Be Mother's Day

I created these cards to go along with some fuzzy spa sock cupcakes that I'm putting together for a craft show coming up in April.  I thought they'd be great for Mother's Day gifts - after all who doesn't like a nice, soft pair of fuzzy socks?  Heck, I'm wearing a pair right now.  lol

For these cards I used:

A Child's Year for the silhouette

Pooh Font for the M

Plantin Schoolbook for the scalloped edges on a couple of the cards.

Noah's Ark in PC

In case anyone's been wondering why I've been so quiet with my papercrafting lately I thought I'd share what I've been working on.  In an effort to diversify before my next craft show in April I've been trying to do more of my plastic canvas crafting which is so much more time consuming than my papercrafting.  With that said, for the last month I've been working on this Noah's Ark playset.

I used to make these years ago and after numerous moves had lost my pattern but recently found and won it on ebay along with several others.  But now that I've finished this project I'll be working on another papercrafting project as I have a couple of cookbooks that I want to scrap as well.

Snowman Tri-fold Card

Christmas may be gone but winter is still here and with winter there's still plenty of snow.  And with that I give you this week's Cricut Cardz Challenge where our directive was to make a card using any colors and cartridges we wanted so long as we used a snowman cut.

I chose to use Speaking of Winter for my snowman cut.  Yes, it's a font cartridge but I absolutely love the snowman that these fonts create.  The card itself was also a cut from this cartridge which features a variety of card cuts including this tri-fold style.

The paper used for the card is from the Grinch mat stack that I found on clearance at M's for $3.  This was one of my favorite cartoons as a child and I still love it so I just had to have this paper - especially at that price!!

Baby's Menu

It's been a while since I've been able to do any papercrafing so I'm excited that I had some today!  And I finally broke down and ordered the new Car Decals cart so as soon as that comes in I'll make myself take time to do some more.  LOL

So today I made a baby card using Simply Charmed and A Child's Year.  I thought it was  cute idea and it's a take off of one I'd seen a year or so ago but I don't remember where.

The bottle's were cut at 1 1/2" tall and the letters (which were welded together) were created at 1" but then scaled down to actually cut at .65" in Design Studio.

REVIEW: Change of Plans

View Trailer

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11

I was given the honor to preview the upcoming Fox Family Move "Change of Plans" which will air this Saturday at 7CST/8EST.  After watching this movie I have to say that I believe it's the best family movie that I've seen aired yet.  Not only did it take me back to the crazy times in my life as our family grew and things became chaotic it reminded me it was worth all the sacrifices made.

I laughed and I cried thoughout the movie.  And it was wonderful to watch as the lives of the characters grew and adapted to the unplanned changes life threw at them.  I don't want to give away the story but I will say this.......

This was a truly powerful movie that if nothing else serves to remind us of the words spoken by the Lord in Jeremiah 29.  Because even when life throws us a curve ball the Lord is aware of it all.  He has a plan for each us and if we listen and obey His plan will enable us to prosper just as the family in this movie prospered.  So tune in and watch "Change of Plans" this Saturday on Fox.  You'll be glad you did.

It's About Time

The weekly challenges at Cricut Cardz Challenge begin back today and our first one was to create a New Years themed card using a clock cut from any cartridge.  I chose to use one from Graphically Speaking.
I also used Designer's Calendar for my numerals.

And now that you've seen my quick, easy to put together card let's see your take on this challenge.  Just click on the link above, play along and upload a link to your card.

My Favorite Things

After a little bit of an inspirational slump this card popped into my head so I had to hurry up and commit it to Design Studio before I left for work.  And then when I got home I went straight to work before cooking dinner or anything.  Isn't that just horrible?  Thank goodness the kids are out and my husband wanted to chill in front of his computer for a while too.

For this card I used:

Rock Princess for my girl
Mickey Font for the numbers
Mickey and Friends for the diamond ring and shopping bags
Happily Ever After for the shoes

The inside sentiment says "but you are my most favorite"
