This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create project using a house cut from any cartridge we desired. Add to that a flourish and some lace. Well, I didn't have any lace in my stash so I chose to use ribbon instead, but I did get the house and the flourish.
As I was trying to decide what I was going to do for this challenge I came across this frame that was part of a set I picked up on sale at KMart weeks ago. The frames worked with what I needed but I had no need for this one that had Home Sweet Home permanently placed on it so I set it aside. Thank goodness I didn't throw it out because it worked perfectly for this challenge.
To create this picture I used the following cuts:
Handyman for the house cut at 4"
Accent Essentials for the heart flourish (used to look like smoke coming from the chimney) cut at 1"
Zooballoo for the clouds cut at 1 1/2" and 1" which were embossed using the script folder
Then I used two different shades of 1/4" green ribbon stitched to paper to simulate the look of grass, added some flower brads I had in my stash and viola.....
So now that you've seen my project why don't you come play along with us. Just create your project following the guidelines above and link it back to the appropriate post by clicking on the link above.

I just finished these albums today after beginning on them a couple weeks ago and then setting them aside. My poor brain just couldn't decide what it wanted to do for the embellishing and even though they are now complete I'm still not entirely sure about all the pages. There are a couple that are my favorites though.....
For this project I cut the onsie out using the Sizzix Bigz XL Baby Onsie die. It's a discontinued die, but I was able to find it at my local AC Moore which was great since I was able to use a 40% off coupon on the purchase price. Each page was cut from chipboard and then back with paper from the Brenda Walton BW Small Wonders stack from K&Company.
For the picture mats I used cuts from Accent Essentials and George
Most of my other cuts are from New Arrival with the following exceptions
Baby in the Stroller is from Simply Charmed
Crying Baby is from Car Decals
The diaper pins were stickers from my stash.
For the covers I cut both "boy" and "girl" and will make those into stickers so that whoever receives the album will be able to tailor it to their baby's sex.
The binder rings used are 1" book rings or loose leaf binder rings which can be found at an office supply store. These size rings only allowed for a 6 page album so next time I'll need to increase the ring size. The eyelets are 3/16" or 4.7mm which are the larger ones and allow for smooth movement of the rings as pages are flipped.

I love this quote and had to use it on a card. Not too difficult to do either given that I had a choice of car cuts available. However, I chose this one from Graphically Speaking.

.....Some bunny special and here's the tissue box cover to prove it. How's that you ask? Because it says so......"
I fell in love with this tissue box cover as soon as I saw it and knew that I had to make it for my upcoming craft show. Isn't it just perfect for Mother's Day?

After working on the final pages for several hours this past weekend, I was able to complete the two recipe albums that I have been putting together as the focal point for a couple of gift baskets.
Overall I'm pleased with the way it all turned out and the fact that I was able to "color coordinate" things so well. And I was even more excited when I was able to find a rolling pin recipe card holder from one of my craft suppliers. What a perfect item to have for this fun gift basket. Now hopefully someone will enjoy receiving and using it as much as I enjoyed putting it all together.

So today I've combined two crafts that I enjoy - scrapping with my Cricut and plastic canvas. Not too long ago I got my hands on the fairly new Tim Holtz Halloween embossing folders and thought this would be a perfect project to break them out for.
My tags were made using the Happy Hauntings cartidge with the skeleton cuts at 2 1/2" and the ghost at 1 1/2". On the back of the tags I printed a copy of the Boo Poem that I found on the Papercrafts blog last year.

Today I wanted to share an Easter project with you that I've been working on. This one is done in plastic canvas but might even be able to be done using the Cricut. (.....hmmmm, just thought about that and now I'll have to look into that one....)
I really love the way these little guys turned out. And the best part is that they open so that you can hide a treat or treasure inside.

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge #64 is not your usual card challenge. This week we were asked to create a bookmark in honor of National Read Across America Week.
I have to tell you that I had a lot of fun designing this bookmark and will definitely have to design and create more. For this one though I used the following carts and cuts:
Tags, Bags, Boxes & More for the bookmark base - I skewed the size to 2 1/4" x 6 1/2"
Stretch Your Imagination for the tree cut at 2"
Graphically Speaking for the couple reading a book cut at 1"
Going Places for the Clouds - I cut the large one at 1" and then skewed the others to 1/4"
And now that you've seen my design for this week's challenge I hope that you'll take a trip to the blogs of the other ladies on the design team and check out their fabulous designs. After you do that, create your own bookmark, link it to the challenge and let us see yours.
