The Good Life

Welcome to another Cardz TV  challenge everyone!  This week's challenge is to use either a shamrock or a clover on your card.  I realize mine's a little small but it's there.  LOL

For my card I chose to use the Leprechaun in beer file by Sarah Bailey from the Silhouette store.  This one is Design ID #56339.  Now because this is a St. Patrick's Day cut I decided to do like the do in Savannah, Georgia and I'm sure many other places in the country and make my beer green.  I thought this added a bit more of a festive touch to the card.

The stamp that I used on my card is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Summer Fun.

The card blank that I used is from DCWV and came pre-embossed.  Pretty great huh?

And now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other wonderful designs that my DT sisters created for you this week.  They all really knocked this challenge out of the park.  Then after you've been filled with inspiration be sure to create your own card, link up and play along with us.

I can't wait to see what you create.

One Prick

I realize I'm like a week late on this one, but in honor of the release of Game of Thrones season 4 I decided to create a little card featuring Joffrey.  And why not?  His little figurine was included with the set as a commemorative piece from the Purple Wedding.

So to create my card I used this awesome file that was part of an SVG Cutting Files blog hop last year.  (Sorry folks that mean's it's not for sale and no I cannot share.)   Didn't she do an amazing job in capturing his likeness and attitude for this cut?

The shield that I used as my backdrop is from the Royalty cartridge by Cricut.

The stamped sentiment I used for this card is from the V is for Villains stamp set by Jaded Blossom.

Hello Gorgeous

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by today.  I have another card in my Villains series to share with you.  This one is also from the Villains file that you can find at Too Cute by Jessica.  Just like the name says these villains are too cute.

For my card today I chose to use Malificent as my focus.  She was the perfect choice to go with this card blank from DCWV.  It's part of the Solstice cards and envelopes box set and I love that all the background work is done for me.

The stamped sentiment on this card is from the stamp set Hello Hello by Jaded Blossom and it's part of the Hello Hello bundle that also comes with a candy stamp set perfect for using with those Hershey kisses.

Rush Delivery

Happy Wednesday everyone.  I have a funny little birthday card that I'd like to share with you today.  I created a different version with this same theme a couple years back but I think this version is so much cuter.

For my card today I used:

  • Marjorie Ann Designs' When I Grow Up - Aviator - for the helicopter on the outside and the clipart on the inside of my card
  • Hello Kitty for the presents - both of which I did using the print 'n cut feature.  I tried to cut and layer first but because of the size my machine didn't like my paper and tore it to shreds.
  • For my font, Cricut Design Space labeled it as "3 Birds Life's a Party"
And here is what the inside of my card looks like

Easter Charger

Hello everyone.  Today I have an Easter project that I'd like to share with you.  While looking through some of my stash I came across a charger plate that wasn't red and thought it might actually work for an Easter project so I went finding and putting together the perfect cuts.

For this project I used the Your Eggstra Sweet file from Marjorie Ann Designs for my bunny rabbit and her candy and I used the Easter Wreath from Treasure Box Designs for the eggs, leaves and 'flowers' encircling my charger.

When putting the bunny together I decided to pop dot her cheeks and then when I realized I needed some whiskers I went back to the Morning Coffee file from Marjorie Ann Designs and cut a set from there.

Given the size of all my cuts this was an extremely easy project to put together and I love the way it turned out.  So much so that I just might have to keep this one all to myself instead of gifting it.

Here's a close up of that cute little bunny.....

And now I'm off to enter this into the following challenge:

Doubleclick Skittles - Animal Challenge - Ends March 3rd

Poisonous Fruit

Happy Monday everyone!  I am excited to tell you that today I am a guest designer over at Red Carpet Studio.  And boy have they got a fun challenge lined up for you.  In honor of the 87th Academy Awards the challenge is to Use circles for champagne bubbles and gold for the Oscar. You get to choose your accessory... a bow for a bow tie or bling for jewels or both.

For my take on this challenge I chose to make a card featuring a very well know villain  - the Evil Queen from Snow White.  Did you know that at the 11th Academy Awards, Disney was awarded an honorary Oscar, and that Snow White was nominated for Best Musical Score?  So what could be more fitting for this challenge?

The Evil Queen is one of several villains you'll find in the Villains file from Too Cute by Jessica.  As you can see I used gold on my background, circles for my sentiments and a small jewel on the evil queen's necklace.

My sentiments are from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Villain Candies.  I also used a sentiment from the V is for Villains stamp set on the inside of the card.

And now that you've seen my take on the be sure to  pop on over to Red Carpet Studio and check all the exciting projects the design team created.  The challenge ends March 12th so you have plenty of time to put your thinking cap on for this one.

Wicked Birthday

Happy Sunday everyone.  Today I have another installment in my villain series to share with you.  This time I decided to create a birthday card.  Now I'm not sure which villain this is *gasp* and if one of you recognizes the character I'd love for you to share.  I'm guessing though that she's from the Disney cartoon Hercules??  Am I at least in the ballpark?

Anyway I created this card using the Villains file from Too Cute by Jessica.  And right now she's running a 90% off sale - but I'm not sure for how long.  Either way it's worth checking out.

My stamped sentiment is from the V is for Villain stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

And now I'm off to enter this card into the following challenge:

DL Art - Thankful Thursday, Use Blue - Ends February 24th

Aviator Layout

Today I have a layout that I'd like to share with you.  It's a simple one but one that means a lot to me as it features a picture of my Grandad during his stint in WWII.  My Grandad was an awesome man and even after his retirement from the Army he found a way to keep serving and giving back.

For this layout I used the new When I Grow Up - Aviator file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  Initially I had intended to use the paratrooper on a card but after I cut her out and put her together I realized that she was larger than I thought.  So then I decided to make a layout with her.  Of course I realize I used a girl on the layout of my Grandad but that's okay because I think it looks perfect....

And now I'm off to enter this layout into the following challenges:

Bimini Moose - Anything Goes - Ends March 2nd

DL Art - Thankful Thursday, Use Blue - Ends February 24th

Butterfly Kisses

I cannot tell a lie.  I am ecstatic that today is Friday.  It's been a long week and I'm really ready for a weekend of down time.  Of course I'll be more ecstatic when the weather warms up and my down time can include being outside once again.  Until then though I'll just create cards and projects that make me think of warmer days.....like today's butterfly kisses card.

I created this card using yet another of Marjorie Ann Designs creations.  This one is called - you got it - Butterfly Kisses

Originally I wanted to include the butterflies on the front of my card but for whatever reason nothing went the way I wanted it to with this design.  And so I used my butterflies on the inside of the card.  Still turned out pretty cute I think.

Both of my stamped sentiments are from the Lil Bit Buggie stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas.

Hoppy Easter

Today I have a project for you that I put together using a combination of Cricut and SVG files.  I love creating 3D projects and my craft room is beginning to overflow with them as I have yet to find home for a lot of what I've been creating.  Oh well they'll just sit on display until I find a good home that will love receiving them as much as I do making them.

So for today's project I created a card and a mini Easter basket.  The basket itself is from the Cricut cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2.  The cute little chickies and bunnies are from the SVG file title Easter Tweets by Marjorie Ann Designs.

For my card I used the same SVG file and also added some grass that I cut from two different Cricut cartridges - Sports Mania and Plantin Schoolbook.

The stamped sentiment is from the Mr. Big Ears stamp set by MayMay Made It.

MS Spartan Layout

Happy Tuesday everyone and welcome to another PDE Linky Party challenge.  This week we are creating anything but a card.  As you can tell I chose to create a layout for my project.  This week's challenge was absolutely perfect for me because it gave me that push I needed to get another layout completed.  I have all these pictures printed and sorted just waiting to be committed to a layout and yet I spend more time creating cards and other projects.

So this week I did it.  I created my first layout using pictures from the Spartan Sprint my son Andrew and I ran together this past October in Mississippi.  The pictures on this layout are from the last portion of the race.  We had to trudge through about 150 yards of water.  Of course we could have swam but I don't recall anyone thinking to do so.  After we got from one side of the pond to the other we were met with a slip wall right on the bank.  Thus my scrapping at the bottom of the layout.

It's somewhat difficult to scrap pictures from my mud runs/obstacle course races but thank goodness for Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  I sent an email to Tricia along with a couple of other SVG creators last year asking if they'd ever thought about creating something for this theme and Tricia was the only one to respond.  Needless to say I snatched up this mud run file as soon as it was released!

And in a couple of weeks I'll be doing my first race of the season with my oldest daughter Faith.  I can't wait either.....

Now that you've seen my take on this week's project, be sure to check out the other great designs our team created for you this week.  Then after you've been amply inspired, create your own project, link up and play along with us.

And now I'm off to enter my layout into the following challenge:

Bimini Moose - Anything Goes - Ends March 2nd

Wild About You

Happy Monday everyone.  Thanks for stopping in to see what I've created for  you today.  It means a lot to me when you pop in to see what I've done and leave comments on what you think.

Today I have this adorable tiger from the Wild About You file over at Marjorie Ann Designs.  It's another one of those cuts where I was excited to find that I had the perfect papers to coordinate with him an really make his cuteness shine.

I also used some of the rust skittles that I purchased from DoubleClick Connections.  I recently started adding these as embellishments to some of my cards and I love the added bling they give to the cards.

On the inside of my card I decided to use the clipart that comes with this file and print the title for use as my sentiment.

Now I have a cute card that I can give to any of my loved ones because it's not gender specific nor is it specific to any occasion.

Easter Eggcitement

Marjorie Ann Designs has a weekly free file that is offered to those who like her Facebook page and join the fan group.  This week the file is this cute little Easter Bunny.  After I downloaded this file I couldn't wait to play with him.

Some of the other ladies in the group have also posted their projects with him and I have to say that I LOVE the way they draw eyelashes on these guys.  I have really got to learn how to do that because it adds so much more cuteness to the character.

For my card I decided to use a flowered background as I felt that the flowers on the egg flowed over nicely in to this particular print.  I have noticed though that with all the spring and Easter type cards I've been doing lately I feel like I need to buy some new paper.  I was telling my husband yesterday that it's a shame that for all the paper I have I'm having a hard time finding the perfect paper for my cards.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the stamp set titled Mr. Big Ears by Maymay Made It.  Unfortunately this is an older set and is no longer available for purchase.

With Love

Happy Friday everyone and welcome to another Cardz TV challenge.  This week our challenge is an easy one............Use Ribbon.  Told ya.  Easy.

I wanted my card to be simple so that the silhouette of my lady blowing hearts stood out.  And while I love this background paper I didn't get quite the 'pop' I had envisioned.  Needless to say I'll have to give this one another whirl.  In the meantime though....

So just where did I find this great file you ask?  Well this one is from the Silhouette store.  It's design number 73753 and is aptly titled Lady Blowing Kisses.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set title Simply Said.

Now that you've seen my take on this week's challenge be sure to check out the other great designs our team put together for you.  Then create your own card, link up and play along with us.  I can't wait to see what you create.

Until then I'm off to enter my card in the following challenge:

Die Cuttin Divas - Picture Inspiration - Ends Sunday, February 15th

Get Well Mouse

Hello everyone.  Today I have a get well card to share with you.

This one was made using the Get Well Wishes file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  I also tried out a new product on this one - Adhesive Fabric from DCWV.  Right now the jury is still out on what I think about it.  I mean it's a great concept but I'm still waiting to see how well it holds up once stuck on to the medium (in this case my card blank).  What I can tell you though is that I had a small bit of trouble getting the piece to cut down to the size I needed.  My paper trimmer didn't slice through it like it would regular paper.

My stamped sentiment on this card is from the Craftin Desert Divas stamp set Say it Big.

Too Bee or Not to Bee

Whew, it's the middle of the week and that mean's it's all downhill from here.......theoretically.  Either way it'll be a short week for me as I take Friday off so I can take a visit to the ENT and hopefully get to the bottom of all these ear infections I keep having - like the one I've had for the past month and can't get rid of.

But I digress.  Today I have a cute card to share with you that I put together using the adorable Busy Little Bee file from Marjorie Ann Designs.  I can't begin to describe the amount of cuteness that is packed in to this file but I hope it translates through my card.

I was even lucky enough once again to find the perfect paper in my stash to use for the background.  And I even found some scraps of vellum to use for the wings on both of my little bees.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled Birds and Bees.

A Good Villain

This evening I have a card to share with you that is a part of my villains series I'm working on.  This entire series is being created using the Villains file from Too Cute by Jessica.  Every one of these characters I found to be easy to piece together and a lot of fun to work with.  The only downside is that there aren't more of them.

Of course everyone knows the Evil Cruella Deville from 101 Dalmatians.  I just love that I was able to find this piece of paper in my stash that looks just like a Dalmatian.  It made the perfect background for my card.  I used one of the sketches from the Mojo Monday blog as the inspiration for the layout of my card.  It's sketch number 365 and was actually intended to be used for a tall and skinny card, but I chose to use it for my more traditional sized one.  And I love how the 'flags' add just the right amount of pizzazz as the colors pop off the page.

I then decided to "decorate" the inside of my card using the same background paper and adding some more flags.  However, opted to not include a sentiment on the inside.  This way the card can be used for a variety of occasions and then I'm not stuck to only one.

The sentiment one on the front of the card though is from the V is for Villain stamp set from Jaded Blossom.

Just Pigcause....

I have a fun little card I'd like to share with you today.  Originally the file I chose to use was created for a child's 4th birthday, but I loved this little piggy so much that I had to have him for something else.

For this card I used the pig from the Party Animal 4th Birthday file over at Marjorie Ann Designs.  My mud spot is from the Mud Run file by Little Scraps of Heaven Designs, but I suppose you could use anything else that looks like a mud spot.  The two little flies are from the Cricut cartridge Campin' Critters.

The stamped sentiment is from the stamp set by Craftin Desert Divas titled Just Pigcause.  I also used this set to stamp a cute little pig on the inside of my card.

Extremely basic I know.  But I don't have markers or anything with which to color.  Even if I did I'm not so sure I'd be brave enough to give it a try though.  Besides this little piggy is cute - colored in or not.  :)

Vodka Costs Less....

Today I'd like to share my final Anti Valentine's Day card with you.  As you can tell from the picture this is another quick and easy card.  That's one of the things that I like about the Cricut cartridge Suburbia.  If I need a quick go to this cartridge has it since it's all silhouettes.  Just like the Child's Year cartridge.

The stamped sentiment on my card is from the Jaded Blossom stamp set titled Cupid is Stupid.

On the inside of my card I used another sentiment from the stamp set and also cut a couple more martini glasses to go with it.

You Can Count On Me

Today I have a quick card to share that I made using last week's freebie file from Treasure Box Designs.  This one is titled Lollipop Bear.

As soon as I saw this cutie I knew he'd be a perfect match to use with one of the sentiments from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Lollipops Galore.  And since I didn't necessarily want this to be a Valentine's Day card I chose one that would work for several different occasions like celebrating a friendship or for encouragement when someone is down.  Or it could be used for Valentine's Day.

So, there you have it.  Quick and easy, but still looks great.

Doubleclick Skittles - Heart Challenge - Ends February 17th

Voodoo Love

Remember when I shared my stupid cupid card a few days ago and said I'd be back with more anti-Valentine's?  Well, I'm back.......

For this card I used the Voodoo Belly Box from SVG Cutting Files.  Only I didn't want to create a treat box so I just used the voodoo doll pieces.  They also have another Voodoo doll set called Voodoo You Love?  I haven't played with this file yet but it looks like just as much fun.

This is the inside of my card:

All of my stamped sentiments are from the Jaded Blossom stamp set Cupid is Stupid.

And there you have another of my Anti-Valentine's Day cards.  Stayed because there's still more to come.

Now I'm off to enter this into the following challenges:

Doubleclick Skittles - Heart Challenge - Ends February 17th

DL Art - Thankful Thursday Valentine's Day - Ends February 10th

SVG Cutting Files - Anything for Your Valentine - Ends February 14th

Love You a Latte Treat Cups

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Today I have a Valentine's Day treat holder project that I would like to share with you.  I came across this idea in late 2013 on Inking Idaho's blog and fell in love with it.  I made several of these for co-workers at Christmas and they all seemed to enjoy their treat cups.  Then again maybe it was because of the candy inside that they enjoyed them. Hmmmmmm......

To create my project I used these cute little 4oz coffee cups and matching lids that I purchased here.  My straws are nothing more than a coffee stir stick cut down to size.  With cups and lids in hand I printed out the template for the wrappers from here.  I will say that for the band that goes around the cup I did cut mine just a smidge longer than the template.

To cover the lid I cut 2" circles using the Cricut cartridge George, but obviously anything that cuts a 2" circle will work.  I then laid my lid upside down and traced the opening for the straw on the backside of my circle.  Then using my Crop A Dile II I punched a hole for the straw.

The tag on my coffee cup is from the Cricut cartridge Love You a Latte which I opted to print 'n cut rather than piece together.

For the carrier use a sturdy piece of 12" x 12" paper.
  • Cut one piece 4" x 6 3/4"  Score all 4 sides at 1"
  • Cut along two opposite sides of the score lines up to where they intersect and then snip the corners diagonally.
  • Now assemble the box.
  • To add more stability cut a piece of chipboard 2" x 4 1/2" and set aside
To create the handle, using that same 12" x 12" paper:
  • Cut a 1 7/8" x 11" piece.  Score at 1 1/2", 5 1/2" and 9 1/2"
  • Fold in half and glue together down to the score lines for the 'flaps'
  • Use an oval or circle punch to make a hole for carrying
  • Set aside
Use remaining paper to cover the piece of chipboard you cut.  Glue the chipboard to the bottom of the box.  Then glue the handle to the piece of chipboard.

As you can see I didn't really decorate my carrier, but I did use one of the cute mice from the Morning Coffee file from Marjorie Ann Designs on each side.

The stamps that I used on my lids and my candies are all from Jaded Blossom.  I used several different stamp sets including:

Funny Mail (revamped) for the lips
Science, Hello and Wizard Candies

And now I'm off to enter this into the following challenge:

Jaded Blossom - Valentine Treats - Ends February 28th

DL Art - Thankful Thursday Valentine's Day - Ends February 10th

Pirates Layout

Today I'd like to share a quick layout with you that I created using the Villains cut file from Too Cute by Jessica.  I love how easy all of the cuts from this file are to put together.  I've made every one of them and as I use them on my projects I'll be sharing them with you.

For now though I'm using Captain Hook on this layout.  The pictures are some that I took during our time at Disney a couple years ago.  These are from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.  Yes, I know Captain Hook has nothing to do with that movie, but hey a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.  And well a pirate is a pirate......unless he's Johnny Depp and well I didn't have any cuts like that available.

For now though I think this cut does quite well.

Love Blocks

Happy Sunday everyone.  Today I have another Valentine's Day card to share with you.  This one was created using the Cupid Cutie file (features this cupid only) from Marjorie Ann Designs.  Isn't she just adorable with those big, dark eyes?

It was an easy file to piece together and if you're concerned about the piecing don't fret because the file also include clipart.  So that means you can print 'n cut whether you cut by hand or using your electronic cutting machine.

Because this card had the blocks that say I heart/love you I didn't feel the need for an added sentiment.  I didn't want to take away from the cut.  Then I also let my DCWV pre-printed card do the rest of the work.  This card is from the Solstice cards and envelopes set.

I love it when everything comes together so easily.

I'm going to enter this card into the following challenge:

DL ART - Thankful Thursdays Valentine Challenge - Ends February 10th
