Ghoul School - Early Halloween

I realize it's a little early for Halloween cards, but I had this extra bus cut from the graduation cards I made for my niece.  It's been sitting on my desk for a couple weeks staring me in the face.  Taunting me.  Waiting for me to decide how I would incorporate it into a card. 

I really wanted to use a monster or alien for my "ghouls" but I felt that if I cut them as small as I'd need it would take away from them.  Then I remembered the crazy cartoonish pumpkins on Stretch Your Imagination and thus my card was born.

Not only did I use SYI for the pumpkin ghouls but also for my spider.  The bus is from Doodlecharms and my font was created using Robotz.

Smiling Flowers

This week's challenge for Cricut Cardz was to create a card using either a bird or butterfly cut.  I chose to use a butterfly.  And I bet you'll never guess which main cartridge I used for the project either.....Okay, I knew I wouldn't be able to fool any of you.  I couldn't help myself though.

There was a baby shower for one of the ladies at our church Saturday and I gave her the stairstep card along with my gift.  Well when the pastor's wife saw it she made a comment about wanting a cute card.  Little did she know that I would get to work creating one just for her and this is it.  (Don't tell but I'll be giving it to her in about an hour)  She's always bubbly and smiling so I knew that I had to use these adorable flowers from Create a Critter and of course the butterfly to compliment it all.

The flower pot was cut using George which I "designed" using Design Studio.  I then used my cuttlebug along with two different folders for the embossing, and then inked on top of that.

What's Up

I made this card a week ago with just the vehicle and surf board and every time I looked at it I knew it was missing something.  So, I set the card on the table in front of me so that whenever I sat at the computer I had to see it.

Today, I was cleaning and organizing the container that has the Sizzix cuts I made over the winter when I came across the girl in the hula skirt.  Of course I had to see if it would work and I believe that it does.  What do you think?

Say Cheese Notebook

I bet by now you're all beginning to notice just how much I love the new Create a Critter cartridge.

I just couldn't help myself and I knew that this would make a perfect notebook so I had to make another one.  For this one I made the following cuts:

Notebook and pages 4 3/4"
Mouse 2 1/4"
Cheese block I scaled down to about 3/4"
Say Cheese phrase 1 1/4"

Both the mouse and the cheese are pop dotted for layered effect.

Sticking Your Neck Out

Here's another card that was scrap lifted from the January issue of Scrap and Stamp.  This one was created for this week's Cricut Cardz Challenge which was to use any cartridge we desired so long as we used three circles on our card.

Once again I just had to play with my new Create a Critter cartridge.  After I laid my cuts out in Design Studio, placed my papers on the mat, cut and then started piecing together it hit me that I cut a couple of my colors backward.  But I was too lazy to re-cut them - not to mention that I didn't want to waste the cuts I'd already done.  And that my friends is why I have a rusty/orangey colored giraffe instead of a yellow one. 

All things considered though I think that the colors work well together and some mistakes are just meant to be......

Enormous Thanks

Tonight's card is one that I scraplifted from the January issue of Scrap & Stamp magazine.  Granted I'm not much of a stamper but the stamping magazines have a lot of great ideas and I enjoy perusing them for ideas too.

So once again, I present you with a card made using Create a Critter - my new favorite cartridge.  I tried on several different size and style of wiggle eyes and dh and I both loved this set best.  We thought they were the perfect pair for that puppy dog eye look.

The inside sentiment says, "Thanks, your help was enormous."

You Drive Me Wild

This was yet another simple card to put together.  A while back I purchased several new Sizzix dies and one night sat down and started cutting them out not knowing what I was going to do with them.  So as I sat in the living room with dh I'd cut, put together and then place the die cuts in a box for later use.

Well last night it finally dawned on me as to what I could do with the wonderful lion cut.  And it was so easy finding the perfect paper in the Animal Crackers matstack from DCWV. 

The leaves were cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.
