Cupcake Time

Wouldn't you know it?  This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was an anything goes theme and I'm so busy with getting graduation announcements and Relay for Life cards completed that I didn't have time to dream up a awesome card.  I suppose that's okay though as sometimes simple is better.
This week I chose to use my Sweet Treats cart because
     1. I have used it very little since I purchased it
     2. I've seen this stamp of stacked cupcakes on a stand and wanted  to re-create it
     3. I've made a few sock cupcakes for gift baskets and thought it'd be great to have a card to go with it

So not only will I share my card this week but also the "cupcakes" that I have made as well.  The cupcake wrapper was made using my Easter cartridge and the idea came from greenbean over on the Cricut crafting message boards.

The cupcake wrapper with the dots was made using a file that was created and shared by Rach1fun using Plantin Schoolbook.  And while I was waiting for my Easter cart to arrive I just had to give this one a try.

Easter Side Step Card

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create an Easter card and what perfect timing since my newly ordered Easter cartridge arrived in the mail.  And I enjoyed my first attempt at the side step card so much that I decided to do it again.  I'm not sure that I like this one as much (maybe it's the colors I used this time since they aren't as vibrant) but I'm not displeased either.  Make sense?

All cuts this week were done using the Easter seasonal cart.  Out of all of the ones used I think that my grey upright bunny is my favorite.

If you love Spring time all the cuts that go with it this cart is a must have.  And I'll admit my main motivation for purchasing it was for the cupcake holder only.  But now that I've explored the cart I'm thrilled that I got it.  My next cut from this one is going to have to be the lamb.....stay tuned.

Child's Birthday Pop-Up

My card this week is a combination of two challenges put into one creation.

The first challenge is the weekly Cricut Cardz Challenge which was to create a child's birthday card this week. The second challenge is from my recent blog candy challenge which was to make a pop up card using Mickey and Friends or Tinkerbell.

For this card I used:

Mickey & Friends for Mickey and the Mickey balloons

George for the other balloons

A Child's Year for the Happy Birthday

Pooh and Friends for the gifts

Cricut Sampler for the Birthday hat (originally from the Celebrations cart - I think)

Hello Spring Flower Garden

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create a spring themed card using flower, butterflies and/or birds. Well I used two out of three so that wasn't too bad. I also tried a new card fold - the side step, and I don't mind telling you that I had a lot of fun with this one. I found the side step to be more creator friendly than just the step card so you'll see more of these in the future.

For this card though I used several cartridges:

Paper Pups for the butterflies - cut at 3/4"

Stretch Your Imagination for the caterpillar - cut at 1"

Cricut Sampler (I don't have Walk in My Garden) for the flowers - cut at 2"

Zooballoo for the grass - cut at varying sizes for layering on the steps

Camp Out for the sign - cut at 2 1/2"

Animal Kingdom for the hello - cut at 1/2"

Birthday Surprise - CCC#15 Gate Fold

This week's Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create a gate fold card using any cart, theme, etc. I chose to make mine a birthday card. For this card I used the Sweet Treats cartridge for all my cuts.

Very simple card with a festive, party look.
