Glitter is Glam Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

Today's card is for a challenge this is going on over on the Moxie Fab World blog where the challenge is to use glitter in an "innovative way".  I'm not entirely sure just how "innovative" this is but it's the card I created as my challenge entry......Now I realize it's not a Christmas or wintery card but that's part of the fun.  You know, break out of the mold of what most everyone else is doing and go for the unexpected.  :o)

For this project I used Doodle Charms for the spiders cut one at 1 1/2" and the other two at 1" - I inked the heads with a blue metallic ink and used a red fabric paint for the eyes and pop dotted to the bodies for dimension.

I also used the spider web from PPDU which was cut at 5", ran through my Xyron and then covered with my black glitter fibers.

To place the spiders to the web I used orange cross stitch thread to mimic the webstring and then pop dotted the spiders to the card.

The font used is called spider bite and was downloaded from dafont.com

New Year Celebration

Now that Christmas is behind us and the New Year upon us it's time to look at creating cards to ring in the New Year.  So here's a card using a calendar as the focal point.

For this one I used:

Designer's Calendar for "January"

Stand & Salute for the fireworks
SYI for the wine glasses

Santa's Workshop & Cookies for Santa

Today I wanted to share with you another plastic canvas project that I used to make a lot of in my younger years.  I tell ya I'm having so much fun rediscovering this lost craft that my poor husband is ready to ban me from ebay.  :o)

And while we're looking at Santa's workshop  I thought I'd bring back a card that I made last Christmas season since it's one of Santa's favorites.  That's right Cookies for Santa.....

This was an easy card only because it was created using stickers rather than die cuts.  I also did some stitching on the card to help make it pop with the added texture.

Butterflies & Thank You's

I know it's been a while since I've posted but I've been so busy (like many of you I'm sure) trying to get gifts finished for Christmas and last minute things done around the house in preparation for the children to come home from college.

That said, the card that I'm sharing today is a very quick make using one cut from TBBM for the tag and the cuttlebug for the butterfly.  I love the background paper that I used and the colors made me think of the beautiful colors on butterflies so I decided to combine the two.

Robotz Christmas Greeting

This is a card that I created for a challenge over at the Moxie Fab World titled All That Glitters.  It's an easy challenge so I hope that you'll play along with me/us.  All  you have to do is create a card that's inspired by this picture.......

That said, my inspiration came from the ring itself.  All that silver and glitz just screamed at me to create a project with silver and that's exactly what I did.

For this card I used the Robotz cartridge for my image cut at 4".

The background of the card was created using aluminum foil that I embossed and then wrapped around a piece of chipboard before adhering to the front of my card.  My only issue is that I couldn't get a picture or scan that really captured the true look of the card.....:::sigh::::

Merry Christmas Circle Card

This week's challenge for Cricut Cardz Challenge was to create a Christmas card shaped like a circle using any cartridges desired.  Sounds easy right?  It was........until you get to the catch.......red and green are NOT allowed.
I started by looking through my Christmas papers and found the perfect paper.  Then I opened design studio and laid all my cuts out, but then I looked at my paper again and realized it had spots of red.  DRAT!  Back to the drawing board I went and this is what I came up with.

For this card I used:

Wild Card for the card feature cut at 4"
Christmas Noel (Solutions) for the reindeer cut at 1 3/4"
Joys of the Season for the star cut at 1"

To add texture to the card I flocked both reindeer, added glitter to the star, and applied a small amount of MS 'snow' along the top edge of the ground.

REVIEW: Life Discipler

This evening I want to take a moment to share my thoughts with you on a product called the Life Discipler. I was asked a few weeks ago to try this product out – free of charge in exchange for my thoughts.

Being a little technology ignorant I had a little difficulty figuring out how to start using my Discipler but once I did I was on a roll. On several occasions I had people ask me what I was looking at and this provided an opportunity to share the Word and explain what the Discipler was all about.

I love that several times a day random Bible verses would appear on the screen for me to read and meditate on. Throughout the day there were gentle reminders that the Lord is watching over and cares for me.

Bottom line, this would make a wonderful gift for a new/young Christian or anyone for that matter. Not only does this allow you to be in the Word anytime, anywhere but it also allows you to chose which verses you want to memorize or mark as your favorites.

Want to know more about this wonderful tool? Check out their website .

If you’re like me and love to save money Life Discipler is offering my readers a 20% discount through the Christmas season. Just enter coupon code GROW20.

Fireplace Card Holder

The project that I want to share with you today while not paper crafted is related since it holds Christmas cards.  I made this from plastic canvas, and in my younger days I used to make quite a few to sell at craft sales.  It's one of my favorite Christmas projects and now that I have the Cricut I was able to actually cut "fire" to go in the fireplace.

Thank You

Today is the final challenge over at Moxie Fab World and today's challenge was Thank You.  So this is my entry for the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Thank You Challenge in the Moxie Fab World .

Just another very simple card in the midst of a busy week.

I used Robotz for the font and Hello Kitty for the flower.

The Love Show

Okay so it's a silly attempt at a play on words or whatever you want to call it, but I couldn't think of a better title for this post.

Moxie Fab World is holding yet another great challenge and today's challenge is to create a 'love' card.  NOT Valentine's Day but love.  So this is my entry for the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Week Love Challenge.

I used Mickey and Friends for the tv, Going Places for the guard and Indie Art for the sign.

And of course that's my husband on the 'tv screen'.  :o)

Stylish Blogger Award

What a wonderful and sweet surprise I received by being 'awarded' with the Stylish Blogger award.  As a recipient of this award I am told I need to:

1. Thank the person who awarded you
2.Share 8 things about yourself
3.pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered.
4.Contact bloggers and tell them about their award!

That said, I received this award from two wonderful ladies - Glenda and Debbie.  Be sure to check out their blogs and all the wonderful projects that they have to share.

8 very RANDOM things about myself:

1. I named one of my daughters after a soap opera character from Days of Our Lives (I haven’t watched soaps in over 10 years)

2. I love to garden, can and preserve my own foods

3. I HATE ironing

4. I would love to live in Alabama again. But I want at least 2 - 5 acres and a creek with woods around me for the deer to bed down, the rabbits to run around and the wild blackberry patch to grow.....Heck what I had before I came back to Florida.

5. I'm very book smart and can quote you Florida Condominium and related State Laws

6. I have an awesome relationship with my mother

7. I love reading Christian suspense novels – especially those written by Ted Dekker

8. If you look in my closet the main colors you’ll see are brown and black

Deciding on 8 bloggers to share this with was a little more difficult.  There are so many wonderful blogs out there full of great inspiration so limiting myself to 8 took some doing.  But these are the 8 that I chose:

Crafty Blonde

Simple Favors and Things

Creative Card Art Designs

Huxters House

A Taste of DC

I Luv My Bugs

Scrap Happy Steph

KattyXotica's Kreations

Congrats and Good Luck

It's time for another fun challenge over at Moxie Fab World.  This time my card is for the Card Creations: Favorite Occasions Congratulations Challenge.

It's another quick and simple card with one cut from the Paper Pups cart.  The bones are stickers and of course so is the good luck "sign" that the pup is holding.
