Hang in There

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I hope that you've had a good start to your week and are ready for a bit of fun. Today over at Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party it's all about the food.  That's right, we're showcasing projects that involve food.

For my project, I chose to showcase lemons.  Now I know you're probably thinking why in the world would I choose something so sour.  Truth is I love lemons and this little monkey with his lemon and lemonade were just too cute to resist.  I found these little gems in the file set called Lemonade Monkeys over at Kadoodle Bug Designs.  The stamped sentiment is from the Simply Said set over at Cardz TV Stamps.

So now that you've seen my project hop on over to the Pause Dream Enjoy Linky Party and check out party #11.  We've recently changed our web address so be sure that you click to join so you stay updated on all the upcoming projects and fun.  Then after you've done that check out the projects the rest of our team has created for you today.  Once you're done oohing and aahing, create your own project showcasing food, link up and play along with us.

Over the Walls and Thru the Mud

Yeah I know those aren't words but somehow the line "over the river and through the woods" just doesn't seem to fit this scenario.

This is another layout I put together from the Spartan Sprint I did in Atlanta this past March.  I figured I'd better try to get these pictures scrapbooked so I could move on the ones my husband took of my mud run from this past Saturday.

For this layout I used one of the cuts from the Mud Run file over at Little Scraps of Heaven Designs.  She is the only one I have found that has such a file available.  So if you're like me and crazy enough to run in the mud for fun in your free time and want to scrap about it, you need to go buy this file.  This particular set has the girl climbing the wall - which I used for this layout, a girl in the mud pit, boy climbing the slip wall and a boy climbing through the tunnel.

I decided to make the cut for this layout large enough to go across both pages for my layout.  I cut the wall at 11 inches wide and by the time I pieced the girl climbing the wall it was probably about as tall.  Even though the wall pieces were that long I embossed them so that they'd have that wood looking texture to them.

And there you have it.....my wall climbing adventures from the Spartan Sprint all scrapped up.  I think next I'll scrap the slip wall.  Until then I'll go enter this in the embossing challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.

What's Percolating

I was thumbing through one of my old Cardmaking & Papercraft magazines the other day and stumbled upon a card that I just had to scraplift.  It used printed and chipboard elements which I just replaced with my paper stash and Cricut die cuts.....well I did use one small piece of chipboard.

For this card I used:

From My Kitchen for the coffee pot, cup and saucer

George for the hearts

For the curved background I tried cutting a circle but couldn't get it to look right so I went to the kitchen, grabbed a saucer, traced and cut away.

At first I was going to used more subdued papers for my background but switched to these brighter colors at the last minute and I'm glad I did because they worked to pull everything together nicely.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set Brew HaHa.

And now I'm off to enter this punny card in the Pun challenge over at Craftin Desert Diva's.

My Hero

Armed Forces Day is this Saturday and I come from a family that has both active duty and retired military representing three different branches or service:  US Air Force, Marines and Army.  So of course I had to make cards for each branch.

On top of that our family lives within minutes of Eglin Air Force Base located in the Panhandle of FL and for the last couple weeks we have had quite a few war games being played.  Almost every night you can hear them practicing their bombing and other stuff on the reservation just miles from us.  It's actually pretty cool and as a kid I always loved watching the convoys around town.  And to this day I love watching the jets and helicopters come in and take off.  We haven't had an air show in years and boy do I miss that.

But anyhow, I created these cards after being inspired by a quote I found on Pintrest.  I loved it so much that I used it as the sentiment in each of these cards.

The cut files are from Treasure Box Designs and the stamped sentiment on the front of the card is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled You're the Man.

Cute As Can Bee!

Hey everyone.  Today is linky party day over at Pause Dream Enjoy, and boy do we have some fun and interesting projects in store for you.  Why you ask?  Because this party is all about the Bugs.  That's right, make a project - any project - but have a bug on it somewhere.

For my project I made a card with this cute little girl dressed up like a bee, hugging on a caterpillar and placed in the center of a background paper full of bugs.  How's that for buggy?

My cut file for this project is from Kadoodle Bug Designs (there's another bug for ya) and the file is called Cute as a Bee.  My stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stampsstamp set titled Birds and Bees.  And that cute background paper?  It's a discontinued paper called Bugs & Butterflies Buggy All Over.

And now that you've seen my project, be sure to check out the other great projects our design team created for you this week.  Then once you've been amply inspired, create your own, link up and play along with us for your chance to win some fun prizes.

I can't wait to see what you create.  But first, I'm off to enter this into the Super Scraps Saturday challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.

A Good Friend Is Card

I told you I'd be making other projects, and I couldn't help myself.  I just had to get a card made with this file from Treasure Box Designs.

So last night I stayed in my craft room while the guys once again played their video games in the living room.  Fine by me.  Just means I get to craft for as long as I want while doing it in peace.

For this card I cut the TBD file at 9.58 inches high and 9.45 wide.  I did find that cutting at this size allowed me to create a cut that fit on a 5 inch high card without the feet/legs.  That means next time I need to go smaller if I want to be able to use the full file.

The sign file I cut at 4.59 inches high and 4.78 inches wide.  And in case you're curious, purchase of this cut file also comes with the poem.  I think she has 3 different sizes but I cropped the picture down to one and adjust it to the size I need when printing.

My background paper is from the DCWV mat stack All About Girls.  I thought that bobby pins would be a great background for two girls with beautiful hair.  LOL

And now I'm off to enter this into the Super Scraps Saturday challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.

A Good Friend Is....

When I saw that this was a new file titled Friends coming soon to Treasure Box Designs I was so excited. And when it was released for sale this yesterday morning you better believe I was all over it. Needless to say I couldn't wait to get home from the gym and eat dinner so I could get in my craft room and play.

Since the boys were all in the living room playing their video games it gave me the much desired time to sit and play to my heart's content.  Originally I was going to use this cut for a card, but then I cut the file larger than I thought and had to use it for a layout.  But that's okay because I think it turned out beautifully.

This particular layout is dedicated to my youngest daughter, two of her best friends and her older sister.

Now to go enter this last layout in the challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.

Batman Layout

I have another layout to share this morning.  It's the last of the ones you'll see with this comic paper background, but I do have at least one more comic style layout to complete.

For this layout I used cuts from both Treasure Box Designs and the Cricut Batman cartridge.  I almost forgot I had the Batman cartridge and didn't remember until after I had put together the TBD cut.  But that's okay because it all worked out and the layout came together nicely.

The picture is another from our travel to Universal Studios last May.  I think I'm close to having all of those pics scrapped and then I can move on to the ones I have from Disney.

In the meantime, I'm entering this layout in the scrapbook page challenge that's going on over at Hiding in My Craft Room.  The challenge ends tomorrow so you still have a little time to play along too.

Happy You Day For Mom

The week is almost half way over and I for one am pretty happy about that.  I'm not even going to lie.  It has already been a crazy and tiring week and I'm ready for some rest and relaxation.  But until the weekend is here I'll keep plugging away.

Today I have a card to share that was created for a flower challenge on National Scrapbooking Day.  I absolutely love this die cut I found over at Treasure Box Designs.  I believe it's called Daisy & Rose.  It's one of the newly released files and let me tell ya, if you haven't been to their website lately you're missing out on some wonderful creations.

So for this cut I decided to add a little bit of texture and added some yellow flower soft to the "eye" of the daisy.  I think it gives it a soft, pillowy kind of look.

The stamped sentiment is from Cardz TV Stamps set titled This 'n' That.   Again, if you haven't been to this website to check out the stamp sets you're missing out.  She has some really great sets over there and this is one of a handful of sets I use a lot.  I've never really been big in stamping but Mary's stamps have turned me around on that one.

Finally, my background paper is from SEI's Desert Springs line.  Isn't perfect for this cut?  And I think it's a perfect card for Mother's Day.  What do you think?

Now I'm going to go enter it into the Holiday Catch Up Challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.  And the Mother's Day challenge over at Craftin Desert Diva's.

Music Fest Layout

My son and his girlfriend recently went to a music festival and wanted to scrapbook some of the photos that were taken at the event.  Perfect idea and timing as I have two challenges for National Scrapbooking Day that I can enter this layout in.

To create this layout I used paper from the DCWV matstack The Rockstar.

The diecuts are from the Cricut cartridge Rock Princess.  (Talk about perfect combinations)

The font is not from a cartridge but is the true type font Showcard Gothic.

As for those challenges that I'm entering this layout in - one is in the National Scrapbooking Day Facebook group.  The challenge there was to create a project for a party or an event.  The other challenge is to create a layout and that challenge is taking place over at Hiding in My Craft Room

Mother's Day Flowers

Today I'd like to share with you another project I created on National Scrapbooking Day.  The challenge for this one was to create a project using the colors blue, pink, green and yellow. Then I found a second challenge over at Hiding in my Craft Room where the challenge was holiday catch up - so I turned this into a Mother's Day card.  (I admit it, it snuck up on me faster than I thought.)  The third challenge I'm entering this in is over at Craftin Desert Diva's where the challenge is Mother's Day.

This cut is from Kadoodle Bug Designs and was actually a freebie file last week.  It's titled Spring Cow.

The stamped sentiment is from the Cardz TV Stamps set titled "Happy Days".

I hope everyone else has had as much fun as me getting their projects done for National Scrapbooking Day.  Thank goodness some of those challenges are extended out in to this week or I'd never get them all done.....

Captain America

Yesterday was National Scrapbooking Day as many of  you know, and after I got home from errands I played along with several challenges that were posted up in one of my Facebook groups.  One of the challenges was to use 4 die cuts on your project, and this layout fit that bill.

A while back I had purchased several pages of this come scene paper and I'm glad I did as it has come in very handy.  (I just wish I could find some more)  This layout - of course - features a picture I took of the Captain America mannequin at the Islands of Adventure in Universal Studios.

With the exception of the font which is from the Cricut Cartridge Don Juan, my die cuts are all from Treasure Box Designs.  The Captain America is sold in a set with Wonder Woman and the Bam and shield are part of the Superheroes title set.

I will also be entering this project into the Scrapbook Page challenge over at Hiding in My Craft Room.
