I finally sat down this past weekend and started scrapping in my youngest son's Smash book. I bought this book with the best of intentions of scrapping his Senior year of high school. And now that he's graduated I'm finally started to get it done.
One of the things we did his Senior year was take a trip to Universal Studios. This is something we've started doing every other year and really enjoy our time there. Even though I'm closing in on 50 I enjoy the areas that are designed for the younger kids like Dr. Seuss land. Our first year there I about cried while watching one of the shows. Why would I cry you ask? Because all the memories from when my kids were growing up and how much they loved reading the Dr. Seuss books came flooding back. And while sitting there, watching the show it was like it all came to life. As crazy as it sounds it was actually pretty cool for me.
But, I digress. Since this is a Smash book and my son is supposed to come back and journal his memories, doodle, scribble or whatever all over the pages I didn't want to get to entrenched with the "traditional" layout. Instead I decided to let the picture and a couple of the characters from Marjorie Ann Design's file titled Imagination do the job for me. Now my son will have plenty of room to journal.
